Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 671
Chapter 671: The Arrival
The Lincoln Center had been brilliantly decorated for the event. It was nighttime, so there were only a few golden lights decorating the outside of the building and the environment, which left most of it in darkness. However, there was also a long line of lights lining the sides of the streets leading up to the entrance, which had been decorated with a dark velvet carpet. This allowed the viewers to take a good look at those arriving for the event.
At first, the lower-ranked superhumans arrived at the party. Each superhuman had been given a different time slot to appear at so that they wouldn’t crowd the entrance, and the weaker superhumans didn’t really bother to wave or respond to many of the reporters and journalists at the sidelines trying to get their attention, since they all knew that reporters weren’t really there for them. After the weaker superhumans, the S-ranks and government officials started to come out, and among these ranks were the Alphas, who were being led forward by Alec Ben.
“Excuse me! Excuse me! Alec Ben! What are your plans for the new Alpha Squad? Do you plan to make them go international!?”
“Alec Ben! Are there any guilds you have your eye on right now? Have you already started your duties?”
“There have been speculations that one of your Squad members was responsible for killing Sasha the Undefeated! Can you confirm or deny this claim?”
The reporters immediately started to get more excited as they saw all the powerful superhumans beginning to show themselves. Alec Ben and the other members of the Alpha Squad just waved slightly at one or two reporters but mainly kept their heads down and their faces stoic as they walked forward. Even though this looked like some sort of show, they couldn’t forget that they were at a memorial to honor the fallen. Indulging in interviews and baseless gossip at a time like this would just be bad for their public image. And since they were still under a lot of scrutiny by the public as a new division of the government, they couldn’t risk any form of bad PR right now.
Alpha Six was also following beside Alec as they went up the stairs. Once Alpha Six heard the name Sasha being mentioned, she felt a twitch in the empty eye socket behind her eye patch and frowned in anger as she remembered that bitch Arit who took her eye from her! Alpha Six felt fury bubbling up from inside her but had to force it back down so it wouldn’t overwhelm her and cause her body to transform unexpectedly. All the Alphas had anima blood running through their veins and whenever they felt tired or extremely emotional, their body parts could transform unexpectedly into an anima form. At an event like this, transforming into an anima would be like digging a fucking grave for the entire Alpha Squad!
Alpha Six had already sworn that she would repay Arit for what she did to her eye one of these days, so she was going to bide her time for as long as possible.
Alec answered one or two of the more serious questions from the reporters, but the Alphas didn’t bother responding to anyone as they just followed behind Alec. But as Alec started to leave to enter the building, the yells and shouts from the reporters suddenly reached an all-time high as a long limousine drove into the parking lot.
Alec turned around in curiosity and immediately understood what the fuss was all about when he saw the man who appeared from inside the limousine.
“It’s the GOD KILLER!”
“Mark Vanitas, please, a moment! Please!”
“Mr. Vanitas! What message are you trying to pass with that tattoo on your forehead? Is it some sort of fashion statement?”
“Is there anything you have to say to the people at home? They all tuned in just for you!”
“Are you planning anything special for the memorial today? The superhuman community is all looking forward to what you will announce for your guild!”
“Madam Luna! Madam Luna!”
“Madam Luna, please this way! You haven’t given a public statement for the guild in weeks! What do you see in the future for the Moonlight guild!?”
“Madam Luna! Sources say you have been spending less time at your guild lately! Are you no longer interested in running your guild!?”
Mark came down from the limousine first. He was wearing a sharp all-
black suit that complimented his black hair and eyes very well. He reached his hand back to the car as a fair slender arm took his own and came down from the limousine calmly. Luna was wearing a black gown that hugged her body modestly with net-like materials for arms. She had braided her long white hair into a bun behind her head and wore a black ornamental headpiece over it with a net that slightly obscured half of her face, giving her a somewhat mournful appearance.
The reporters started to go even crazier once they saw Luna coming out of the same car as Mark, but their frenzy really reached its peak when Mark reached in again and took another slender hand in his own.
Arit was dressed like a queen.
Arit wore a long black gown that reached the ground and slightly flowed behind her. The material trailed up her collarbone into a black choker that wrapped around her neck, and there was some space around the shoulders that exposed some of her pale skin. She had on black lipstick, and her long blonde hair had been braided up in a way that was almost similar to Luna’s, with a black ornamental headpiece and a net that covered half her face. After coming down, Luna helped Talia out of the limo, and she smiled at Talia’s cute gown and headpiece as she took her hand.
Talia felt nervousness rising from inside her when she saw how many people were screaming and shouting at them for an interview. Even though Talia was used to the superhuman life, she had never been this popular before, so this was something new to her. Arit was able to notice Talia’s nervousness and crouched to give Talia a quick kiss on the cheek and a few words with a wide smile to calm her down. Arit’s smile and Mark’s presence finally allowed Talia to calm down as she tightened her hold on Luna’s hand and faced the crowd once more.
Even though this was supposed to be a memorial, and both Arit and Luna had dressed properly for the occasion, no one there could deny that they looked far too glamorous to be overlooked!

The cameramen who were around the venue started to take pictures at a dizzying pace! The flashes lit up the entire venue, and everyone who had been around stopped what they were doing and watched the small family as they started to move up the stairs. Mark took the center and walked up calmly, with both women on each side of him. He had a hand in his pocket and gave a slight wave to some of the superhumans he recognized from the fights he had been in whenever they waved to him.
A reporter had forced his way to the front and started to ask Luna questions desperately, and Luna decided to answer a few questions because she knew that people who invested in the Moonlight guild were watching and would want to know what she had been up to. Luna handed Talia over to Arit and she told Mark and Arit that she would meet them at the entrance once she was done. Mark nodded and gave Luna a quick kiss before he took Arit’s hand and continued on.
The number of pictures taken of that kiss was enough to fill a phone’s gallery twice over, but Mark didn’t pay it any mind.
“They kissed! They actually kissed! I can’t believe it!” [A/N: this guy here is a real romantic!]
