Henry had seen the size of the Eldritch spider before it formed that nest to stay in, so he knew exactly what Mark would find in there!

But Mark had no idea what was in there, and he still entered it so easily!? That was like entering a cave in the mountains without knowing what you would see in there! Meeting the Elder Eldritch in that nest would be the equivalent of a human finding a hibernating bear in a cave!

But then the entire area seemed to shake as something massive moved inside the nest. Another rumble echoed from the nest, and finally, after a while, the side of the nest bulged and exploded in a massive blast of spiders and webs that shot out into the city! A large spider with eight long legs and red and black stripes all over its body hissed in pain as it ran towards a high-rise building and latched onto it before turning to look at the nest behind it. The spider was so large that its body was able to wrap around the skyscraper easily, and when the superhumans looked closely, they all saw that there was a large wound on the spider’s right side that it was trying to protect using the building.

Footsteps came from the hole in the torn nest and people saw Mark appear from inside it while dragging the bodies of three large spiders behind him. Mark’s body was covered in black blood and his sharp eye glared up at the spider as it screeched down at him in pure rage!

[And in today’s news, the island continent of Australia was attacked yesterday by what is being described by locals as a large Eldritch-class spider-based anima that emerged from the forests. The anima possessed high strength, flexibility, and the ability to generate lightning from its webs and caused no less than five hundred million dollars in property damage in a rampage that covered about half of the country. The anima took residence in the large city of Melbourne after its rampage and began to form a nest that spawned various Calamity-class anima. The superhumans present on the scene were trying their best to fend off the calamity classes, but there was no one present in the country with the abilities necessary to defeat a monster on the level of the Eldritch-class anima. But then, much to the shock of everyone present, a new superhuman emerged from a military helicopter flying past. The popular superhuman hailed as the strongest man in the world, Mark Vanitas, arrived on the scene along with Madam Luna, the leader of the Moonlight Guild, and a strange anima-like superhuman that has been identified as Arit Clayborn.

[These superhumans took control of the situation and managed to prevent any further destruction of the surrounding city and loss of life from the anima attack. In an interview with Madam Luna after the Eldritch-class anima was defeated by Mark Vanitas, we were told that the Moonlight Guild led by Madam Luna and the Vanguard Guild led by Mark Vanitas have now come together and have taken on the name Vanguard as an umbrella term for both guilds. The new Vanguard has made it their mission to supply aid to every country in the world that faces a crisis beyond their control. Australia was a trial for both guilds to see if their mission was possible when faced with a real crisis, and from the numerous lives and property saved by their quick response, it can be said that their mission was a resounding success.

[Many superhuman guilds around the world have voiced their concerns about a singular guild acting in such a manner and are worried that Vanguard will take away the resources and valuable material provided by the anima corpses if they arrive on the scene, but after the fight in Australia, it was confirmed that Vanguard only took the corpse of the strongest Eldritch-class anima and left all the calamity-class and disaster-class anima behind for the other guilds. Madam Luna said in an interview – and I quote – ‘The Armageddon attack on America showed us that we cannot trust the world with such dangerous corpses anymore, so we are going to hold onto any corpse we deem too dangerous and dispose of it properly.’

[When asked about their reaction to these events, the Superhuman Alliance expressed knowledge of the actions of Vanguard and have accepted and even sponsored their actions, stating that the most powerful man in the world is not someone that should be monopolized by any one country. Vanguard’s mission to aid the world has been gratefully accepted by many.

[Despite our attempts to reach across to the man of the hour himself for an interview, Mark Vanitas remains elusive to all media and was gone from the scene long before the reporters arrived. But in an interview with Arit Clayborne, the girlfriend and close confident of Mark Vanitas, we were told – and I quote – ‘Mark is simply doing his best to help everyone. I hope no one will try to stand in his way because of stupid reasons.’ Many critics online are skeptical about the legitimacy of Arit Clayborne’s abilities and are questioning our trust in her as a superhuman due to the suddeness with which it was revealed, but there has been no move from the armed forces or the Superhuman Alliance to detain her for questioning and after proper research, it was found out that Arit Clayborne had been registered as an S-rank superhuman in the Superhuman Alliance.

[It is still up for debate what the repercussions from the actions of Vanguard will be in the coming years, but for the people of Melbourne, Australia, as well as everyone else being saved by the quick actions of Vanguard, their actions are a godsend and their help is more than welcome in any capacity. As the popularity of Mark’s guild grew in the world, more and more people began to hear about the mission that Mark had announced at the charity event, many states and countries that were endangered by anima appearances they could not handle began to reach out to Vanguard more to try and seek help. Regardless of how skeptical people might be about Mark’s intentions or what he was trying to do by going around saving people without asking for anything in return, no one was going to just turn down free help when presented to them like that! A man hanging from the edge of a cliff would take any hand offered to him, even if he didn’t fully trust the person offering it.

But as time passed, people began to realize that their worries had been pointless. Mark never bothered to ask for anything from the countries that he saved and the few times that the media managed to get Mark to give a short interview, he only emphasized on his mission to help out when needed. There was never even a mention of monopolizing the anima corpse market or making his actions into something like a business where countries would have to pay for his services.
