Chapter 705: Human-Anima Hybrid
Arit’s eyes narrowed into a glare as she started to walk up to him. Arit knew better than to allow something like this to go unchecked. If the man was a stalker or something dangerous, then it was better to capture him and find out before things got out of hand. But as Arit started making her way towards the man, she frowned as the man started to move. He walked over to the side of the street with more pedestrians and started to use them as cover to disappear. And since it was nighttime and visibility was low, he managed to make it all the way over to the other side of the street before Arit got sight of him again.

Arit immediately transformed into her queen form, and people on the street all exclaimed in awe as they watched her fly off to the top of a building. Arit looked around for where the man was going, and she saw that he was heading towards a run-down building on the other side of the city.

Even though most of the country had been rebuilt following the attack from the Armageddon a few months ago, there were still many buildings and streets that were rundown and incomplete. This building was one of those that had only been rebuilt halfway before being abandoned because of a lack of funds to complete it.

Arit spread out her senses to see if there was anyone else in the building, and she frowned when she noticed that there was no one else in there. The man was alone, and he was standing close to one of the windows and looking out at where she was.

‘No, wait. There’s one more person on the ground floor, he’s sitting behind the building, so he might just be a homeless man. I don’t think I have to worry about him.’

Arit ignored the extra person in the building and focused on the man that she had been watching again. Was the man a superhuman?

Arit thought this as she watched him watching her. Only a superhuman would be able to see her from so far away, so Arit guessed that the man was also a superhuman. But then, what was a superhuman doing watching her? Was he really a stalker, or is he one of those who think she is dangerous because of her relation to the anima?

Although many people around the country had accepted and gotten used to Arit’s presence, there were still many others who didn’t accept her because they thought she was too similar to an anima. They constantly made petitions to have her arrested by the Superhuman Alliance, and only Mark’s presence and the support from the Superhuman Alliance prevented them from doing anything too serious.

Arit took off from the roof of the building and made her way over to the incomplete building that the man was standing in, but instead of going inside, she just floated outside of the window with her entire body tensed and ready for any attack. But the attack never came.

Instead, the man’s mouth split into a smile as his eyes slowly started to change from the regular black they were into a deep red. The man’s face transformed to resemble a large lizard, and green scales crept up from his arms to his neck before spreading to the rest of his body.

“QUEEN.”

The man hissed towards Arit as his forked tongue peeked out from between his lizard-like lips, and Arit couldn’t hide the shock on her face, even though she wanted to.

He was like her!

The man was someone who could transform into an anima. A Human-Anima Hybrid!

Arit’s shock made the man smile as he spoke.

“You are on the wrong side of the war, QUEEN. The true king has awoken, and he craves the presence of his QUEEN. Come to him and claim your rightful position at his side. We are your people, not the humans. Us.”

The man’s tongue slid out of his mouth again after he was done talking. The man was nothing but a messenger sent here to give Arit a warning message. The King of the anima was awake, and he would soon be with them. By the time the king arrived, the QUEEN had to be present there to welcome him.

The entire reason why the anima had created the QUEEN all those years ago was simply because they knew that the King would need her by the time he woke up. Arit being capable of subduing and controlling the QUEEN was something that none of them predicted, but it didn’t matter since Arit still possessed the powers of the QUEEN. She would be enough to awaken the true potential of the King.

The lizard-man started to walk backward, and he was slowly swallowed up by the darkness. He thought that Arit was going to be too stunned to attack him, but he didn’t expect a sudden charge from Arit as she shot into the building!

WOOSH!

BOOM!

Arit grabbed the man before he could go far and slammed him into the ground!

SLAM!!

The ground gave way under them, and they both plummeted into the floor below as the man felt Arit’s hand tightening around his neck!

“Grk!”

The man grabbed Arit’s hand as he felt her choking him even tighter, and Arit glared down at him with wide, angry eyes! Her fangs were bared toward him, and the man’s eyes narrowed into a glare as Arit raised her other hand and pointed her sharp nails at his eyes.

“Who the fuck are you calling the true King in front of me!? There is only one King! My KING! Anyone else is a fucking fake! Now, I’m only going to ask you this once. Who the fuck are you, and who the fuck sent you?”

The man’s lizard-like tongue came out and licked the hand that was choking him before he grinned.

“You’re just as feisty as all the others said you would be! You are truly worthy to be the QUEEN!”

WOOSH!

Wind whistled from behind Arit, and Arit immediately dodged to the side and rolled to a stop to avoid a massive blow from someone behind her! Arit turned to the side and saw another lizard-man standing there. This one had red skin and large green eyes that made him look almost like a wall gecko. Arit spread her senses again and she realized that the man sitting at the back of the building was no longer there, so that meant this must be him. Inside her head, the QUEEN criticized Arit for being so careless! She was lucky her instincts warned her before the man could hit her with an attack!

Arit slowly got up and narrowed her eyes at the two lizard-men while ignoring the QUEEN’s voice. Arit cracked her neck and prepared for a fight. She was not going to let them leave without getting an explanation!

The first lizard man coughed with a smile as he stood up and went to stand beside his partner. They were currently in a large office-like room that was unpainted and empty. There was only a large space in the middle of the room and a single door on the other side that led into a hallway.

Arit took in one silent breath to calm her nerves before she blasted forward!
