Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 720
Chapter 720: Do The Honors
Mark laughed.
“Hector, I remember all that. You already told me about the tax margin before, remember? I said I’d look into it. But really, this is not a good time. I’ll call you back later.”
Click!
Mark clicked off the call with Hector before Hector could get another word in and Mark finally turned back to focus on the battle coming towards him! Mark was standing on the bridge that cut across the Seine River.
Mark had arrived in France a day ago, and after investigating with Louise and other members of the French Superhuman Association, Mark realized that the creature in the Seine was not a single monster, but instead an entire school of monsters! A large school of Calamity class piranhas had all made the Seine their home and they were feasting on any form of wildlife or humans that they could get their teeth on!
The piranhas were larger than a human, and each of them had large, razor-sharp teeth that could tear a man to pieces in seconds! The Piranhas all looked the same, so whenever a person saw them, they would have the same description for it, which in turn made the superhumans think that there was only one monster in the river.
Mark jumped back from the attack as electricity started to crackle around his body! The piranhas that saw it were immediately terrified as they tried to get away from Mark! They all remembered what the lightning had done to the first set of piranhas that attacked Mark, and they had learned to stay far away from Mark once he activated it!
But even with them moving back quickly, they still couldn’t do anything as Mark’s lightning surged to life!
[Lightning Surge]!!
BZZT!!
The Lightning Surge was only an Elite Rank skill that was innate to the Gauntlet of the Thunder God, but against the piranhas that were only Calamity class anima, it was like they were being bombarded by a million volts of electricity! It didn’t matter how many there were, the lightning traveled through their bodies at a rapid pace and tore them apart quickly as they were thrown back!
Some of the Calamity class monsters had managed to get away from the lightning and made their way back to the river to try and swim away from Mark, but before they could get too far, they slammed into an invisible wall that was blocking them from making their way to the mainland! The invisible wall glimmered with various glittering lights as the fish slammed into it before it turned invisible again!
A small distance away from the fighting, a large group of superhumans who specialized in creating and maintaining forcefields using their blessings had all crafted magic circles and were using their abilities to hold the fish back. Most of them were A or B rank, so they weren’t able to do much against the piranhas if they were fighting alone, but with Mark distracting and defeating many of the piranhas, it wasn’t much trouble for them to block the path of the remaining ones to ensure that they couldn’t run away!
ZOOM!
A speedboat zoomed across the water at a quick pace and traveled through the area just behind the piranhas! On the back of the speedboat, Louise raised his hand and a large block of metal that was behind him immediately melted into liquid form and came over to him. Louise’s ability allowed him to control and manipulate metal however he wanted. However, there were some limitations to the ability that prevented Louise from using it as well as he knew he could. The first limitation was the fact that he could only manipulate the metal in its liquid form. If the metal was solid, then it would turn to a liquid the moment he took it under his control. The second limitation was his inability to create the metal himself.
Louise had to control metal that already existed, and he couldn’t form the metal out of anything. This meant that if Louise was ever in an area that did not have any metal in it, then he would find it very difficult to use the full extent of his powers.
But right now, Louise didn’t have to worry about any of those limitations at all! Louise had a wide grin on his face as he crafted the liquid metal under his control into thousands of spiked rods that started to rotate at an unbelievable speed once he commanded them to!
WOOSH!!
The spiked rods formed a gale wind that blew Louise’s suit jacket around erratically, and at the next moment, he unleashed them upon the piranhas!
Phwoosh! Phwoosh! Pwossh!
The rods flew true and started to skewer away at the piranhas without even trying, and in the next moment, the piranhas started to scatter into the Seine River to try and save themselves! This was the issue that Louise had with the piranhas that prevented him from being able to handle them on his own.
The piranhas were aquatic animals, so Louise knew that they were never going to go on land, so Louise had to get in the water if he wanted to defeat them. And since Louise had to fight them on the water, it was impossible for him to handle all of them at the same time. The anima always scattered once he launched an attack like the lances he just unleashed, and since the piranhas were very quick at reproduction; if even two of them escaped from Louise’s attacks, then it would be easy for them to replenish their forces and they could just continue their reign of terror over the Seine as usual!
That was exactly why Louise had asked for Mark’s help!
Mark jumped off from the edge of the bridge and towards Louise’s boat, and at the same time, Mark activated the [Taunting] skill!
Over the past few months, Mark had improved the Taunting skill. Back then, the Taunting skill only had a forty percent chance of attracting the aggressiveness of an enemy because of how low level the skill was, but now that the skill had been leveled up to the max, once Mark activated the skill, it had a hundred percent chance of drawing the aggressiveness of any enemy that was a lower level than him!
[Scent of The Wildling] has been activated!
The moment Mark activated the skill, every single anima in the region felt a tingle like electricity travel through their brains, and immediately afterward, they felt an immeasurable rage surge through and ravage their common reasoning, and this rage drew them away from their retreat as they all turned around and started to charge straight for Mark with reckless abandon!
Mark landed gently on the edge of Louise’s speedboat and he watched calmly as the piranhas all chased after the speeding boat like bats out of hell! Their bloodshot eyes were clouded with a wave of mad anger that prevented them from caring about their own safety, and their sharp teeth were trying their best to take a bite out of the propeller on the boat so that they could get to Mark.
“You always bring me the best gifts, Captain. Shall we do the honors?”
