Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 727
Chapter 727: Too Much!
The truth was that Henry had not told Mark the full truth about why he wanted him to be a part of this tournament. It was true that Mark’s presence there was going to help Henry enter the race for becoming the next General Overseer of the Superhuman Alliance, and it was also true that Mark was going to bring in a lot of viewers for the next tournament.
But that was only half the issue here. The real issue that the tournament had been facing for the longest time now wasn’t their inability to bring in viewers, but rather it was their inability to bring in players! The superhumans that they needed to participate in the tournament were just not interested in showing up for it!
The Superhuman Alliance had tried everything from bribing the superhumans with large sums of money to even offering them wider jurisdictions for their guild and better discounts on anima sales, but the superhumans just weren’t interested in going on TV and fighting in the tournament. Or at least, the superhumans that the Alliance really wanted weren’t interested.
The only superhumans that were interested in the tournament at all were the B, A, and S rank superhumans who didn’t have that much of a following both on social media and in the real world and who were only interested in getting involved with the tournament because they thought it would give them more exposure. These superhumans didn’t have much fighting experience, and they had a terrible track record! They just didn’t have the star factor that the Alliance needed.
The superhumans that the Alliance really needed— the superhumans with a lot of kills and a very good track record for anima defeated and high ranking in terms of power— saw it as a waste of both their time and their energy to be a part of the tournament. And when those superhumans looked at the roster of superhumans that would be involved in the tournament and saw the low rankers and the agents from the Superhuman Alliance, it just served to ruin their impression of the tournament further, and this made them even less interested in the tournament.
So, Henry hearing from his spy that Mark was in need of a way to enter Japan had been a godsend. It was like manna falling from heaven and right into his lap, and Henry was not the sort of person to waste such a perfect opportunity.
Now that they had Mark as one of the members of the tournament, Henry could already predict exactly how things were going to go over the next few weeks. Firstly, those low-ranking superhumans who were only going into the tournament to try and increase their followership were going to start dropping out like flies. Hearing that the strongest superhuman in the world was going to be a part of the tournament would be enough to destroy anyone’s morale, and those weak superhumans would no longer see this as a good opportunity with how high the danger level was going to be.
And secondly, the Alliance was going to get a surge in applications from much stronger superhumans. In truth, Mark’s status as the strongest superhuman in the world had been under a lot of scrutiny from others. People had been debating about whether or not Mark was really the strongest just because he defeated an Armageddon class, and there had even been some people online saying that there were other superhumans capable of defeating Armageddons. The number of challengers and rivals that would apply to the tournament just because they want to prove themselves was going to increase, and this would, in turn, bring in even more viewers who would want to see how the game plays out.
No matter how you looked at it, Mark’s presence in this game was going to bring them nothing but positives in the long run!
And all of it was going to be credited to Henry Ford.
Henry felt a smile spreading across his lips, and he heard Alpha Three release a disgusted ‘ugh’ once she saw the smile before she spoke up uncomfortably.
“You have that creepy smile on your face again, boss.”
Henry quickly blinked and schooled his features once Alpha Three spoke, and he sat up and spoke to the members of the Alpha Squad.
“Now that we’ve secured Mark’s participation, I’m going to lay out the plan for getting as much out of this tournament for the country as possible. Alec, you’ll be the lead here. Choose four other members that you believe can work well as a unit. The five of you who are going to be participating will be responsible for ensuring that Mark Vantias is at the center of every major battle happening in the tournament. I have to meet with the head of the Asian Superhuman Alliance first, but once I get back, I’ll listen to whatever plan you’ve come up with.”
Henry quickly excused himself and left the Alpha Squad to sort themselves out.

[Hokkaido, Japan.]
“We need to get them out of here! Now!”
“Move! Move! It’s coming! I said move!”
“Shit! We’re not going to make it! Use the ARE! Use it now!!”
BOOM! BOOM!
ROARRRRR!!
A loud roar echoed through the region as a giant stingray Elder Eldritch monster tried to force its way out from the ocean onto the shores of the Hokkaido islands! Hundreds of people who had been relaxing on the beaches were quickly trying to run away from the scene, but they weren’t able to move fast enough as the monster used its long tail to slash across the area!
WOOSH!
The slash sent people flying, and many of them were immediately decapitated by the metal sting poking from the tail! Many more people were thrown to the side as the stingray unleashed another swipe, and the superhumans in the area quickly started to move forward to try and draw the monster’s attention to them!
The guilds in Hokkaido had gotten a call about this monster only a few minutes ago, and out of all the guilds available, there was only one A-rank guild that was capable of putting up any sort of fight against the monster here! The guild had just one S-ranker! His name was Kenshi, and he had a blessing from Apollo that allowed him to create massive explosions of light and release them from his palm like missiles!
Kenshi raised his hand and roared in agitation as he fired off three large missiles at the monster!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The missiles struck the stingray in the face and it roared in anger as it turned its attention to Kenshi. Kenshi immediately turned and began to run away from where the people were trying to evacuate as the monster released its tail once more and tried to decapitate him!
WOOSH!

BOOM!
The loud sound of the tail flying through the air was the only thing that prevented Kenshi from dying on the spot! The tail sailed overhead as Kenshi flew to the front and the tail slammed into the sand a few meters away, raising dust and sand everywhere!
Kenshi tried to take in deep breaths as he scrambled to get back to his feet before the monster could unleash another attack! This was too much! This was just too much!
“S-ranks weren’t meant to fight against Elder Eldritch monsters! It was just too much!”
