Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 748
Chapter 748: The Lodging
Once the bird had started making its way to the shore, Mark spoke to Pat.
“Pat, just keep looking through the satellite to see what you can get. The falcon will get to the area in about five hours, so you should be getting a better view soon.”
Pat gave a grunt of confirmation through the comms, and Grace spoke up with awe in her voice.
[Mark, I really don’t know what the fuck your blessing is, but I want to study it. It has to be the most versatile thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s like you have something new you can do whenever I see you using it.]
Mark hummed in amusement, and Pat just chuckled as he spoke up.
[Good luck getting it out of him. I’ve known him for years, and I still haven’t figured it out. You know what, if you can figure it out, I’ll let you be the new leader of the lab.]
Grace gasped in shock!
[Really!?]
Pat deadpanned.
[Of course not, you idiot.]
[I fucking hate you.]
Mark just allowed the two geniuses to bicker through the comms as he turned to the window at the side and continued watching the scenery go by. The countryside was peaceful and calming, and Mark realized after a while that just watching it was enough to make an energetic feeling pass through his body. Was it a byproduct of the [Symbol of Gaia] skill that Mark now had? Mark did not know. All Mark knew was that he liked it.
One part of Mark’s mind was still on the bird as it flew over the ocean and headed towards the coastline, and another part was focused on the conversation that Arit was having with Luna about the time they went to City F for the festival and how similar the city was to Tokyo. But the larger portion of Mark’s consciousness was thinking about Megumi and the power that she had shown during their brief confrontation.
Would Megumi be able to keep up with him in a real battle? Mark really wanted to find out. This was the first time that Mark would feel this eager to face another human in battle. The similarities between them were fierce enough to make Mark forget about his actual mission in Japan for a while.
“Hey, babe, Luna wants to go to the Tokyo Tower later! Let’s go when the tournament is over!”
Arit spoke up from Mark’s side and Mark smiled as he was dragged into the conversation by Arit and Luna. Mark allowed all thoughts of Megumi and his desire to fight her to move to the back of his mind as he focused on his girlfriends.

The large buses carrying the superhumans arrived at the lodging less than two hours later. The area that they arrived in was completely surrounded by vegetation on all sides. In front of the house, there was a large field that stretched into the horizon and ended in a shoreline showing off the glowing ocean with the sun setting behind it. Behind the house, a large forest with tall trees and dense bushes was already turning dark as the setting sun cast a large shadow through it.
The house they arrived at was large, and once Mark laid eyes on it, he was able to tell that it had been built newly just for the competitors. The signs of the previous house being demolished and the new house being put up were as clear as day to his enhanced vision, and Mark was sure that all of the superhumans there would also be able to tell that this was a new building.
In traditional Japanese fashion, the entire house had been created mainly from wood. It was just a single-floor plan covering an extraordinarily wide expanse of land. The roof was a pagoda that Luna gushed over since it reminded her of the game Sekiro that she had been trying to beat recently, and there were multiple Japanese women standing in front of the house, wearing traditional Japanese kimonos as they prepared to welcome the competitors.
Among the competing countries were the Federation of America, Germany, China, Great Britain, France, Nigeria, Australia, Japan, Brazil, and Russia. This meant that in total, there would be a hundred superhumans present in the tournament. But only seven out of the ten participating countries were present currently, with Brazil and Russia yet to arrive and Japan not being present in the guest house since the competition was going to be taking place in their country.
Mark came down from the bus with Arit and Luna following after him, and he looked over at the other buses with the remaining competitors also coming down from their buses. Ida caught Mark’s eye from a distance, and she gave him a seductive wink that made him scoff before turning away to look at the building in front of them.
Mark really didn’t know what the organizers were thinking when they came up with this idea, but putting these many superhumans in one building was definitely not going to end well at all. Mark just hoped that none of the competitors did anything that would hinder the mission he came here for.
“Welcome, Superhuman-sama. It is our greatest honor to host you on this auspicious day. Each one of us has been ordered to guide and care for the needs of each individual country. If you would please follow the maiden holding the plaque for your country.”
The head hostess from the women who were waiting for them in front of the lodge spoke in clean Japanese, and the translator in Mark’s ear translated the woman’s words easily and allowed him to understand what she was saying. There was a pretty Japanese woman at her side carrying a plaque that showed the American flag on it, and Mark followed after her after she bowed to them and guided them along. Thankfully, the guide spoke fluent English, so they didn’t have to rely on a translator as she guided them to the part of the lodge that had been reserved for them.
There were twenty doors lining a long, brightly lit hallway. Each one of the rooms had a bathroom, dining room, storage room, and bedroom in it. Even though the room would be considered small by many people’s standards, Mark could tell that every single thing in the room had been made from the finest material available on the market. In fact, the products in the room wouldn’t lose out to the finest materials in five-star hotels. The only reason why the room was small was because it was built to suit the Japanese standard.
Mark respected the fact that the Japanese were not bending to the pressure of any of the attending countries, and they were making sure that everything used in this tournament was authentically Japanese.
Arit and Luna left to go and put their things in their own rooms, and after putting his own things in the proper places, Mark sat on his bed and allowed his mind to wander to the falcon that he had summoned so that he would see how far it had gone in its journey to the shoreline.
