Chapter 750: Sudden Attack
[Later that Night.]

KA-BOOM!!

Mark’s eyes shot open immediately as a large explosion went off outside the lodge! Mark looked around the room to make sure that there weren’t any enemies inside it before he quickly sat up in bed! Beside him, both Arit and Luna also woke up since they were also shocked by the intense explosion! Mark turned to the window at his side to look outside the lodge and frowned in confusion as he saw a bright yellow light flashing through the air before another explosion suddenly shook the lodge down to its foundation!

KA-BOOM!

Rumble~!

Rumble~! Rumble~!

The entire lodge shook from the force of it, and Mark realized suddenly that a fight had broken out in the lodge! Mark spread his senses out to see if there were any anima around! Mark had fought against anima so many times that it was easy for him to notice them when they were using their mana near him. But after spreading his senses out, Mark was surprised to realize that there were no anima around! The only mana signatures that Mark could sense were from humans! What the hell was going on out there? Did two superhumans start a fight already?

Mark knew that the superhumans were going to get into trouble since there were so many of them in the same place, but he never thought that a fight would break out this quickly! It hadn’t even been five hours since they got here!

Mark got out of bed and grabbed a pair of joggers before rushing out of the room! Luna and Arit also put on something quickly, but since Mark was able to do it much faster without bothering about putting on a shirt, he was able to leave the room much faster than them!

Mark made his way out of the room, and along the way, Mark ran into many other superhumans who were all curiously heading out from their rooms to see what was going on. They all had shocked looks on their faces since they all thought they were going to be meeting a serious fight out there from the intense tremors that they had felt.

As they got out, everyone was shocked to see a young superhuman raising his hand into the air and summoning a massive column of fire that rose into the air like a fiery tornado! The fire rose higher than a hundred meters before the man shot his hand down to the ground while also bringing the flames down to the ground in one smooth move!

KA-BOOM!!

Another massive explosion resounded through the area as the column of fire imploded upon impact with another superhuman who was moving through the forest and running towards the flame user at intense speed! The second superhuman was a much older female, and Mark immediately recognized her as one of the lesser-known members of his guild. Mark had been in one or two battles against Elder Eldritches with her before, but they hadn’t interacted much since she wasn’t that high on the hierarchy. If Mark remembered properly, then she was one of the superhumans from Australia, right? What the fuck were they doing?

The other man that was using the flames raised his hand and created another column of fire to shoot toward the woman, but the woman suddenly leapt into the air, and Mark watched as two long whips crafted from pure green mana erupted from her palms and began to float around her with a refined grace that showed just how skilled she was with them!

The woman shot her hand toward the man, and the whip flashed forward, flowing past the column of fire and straight at the man!

CRACK!

An intense crack echoed throughout the area as the whip almost hit the man, but the man was able to move out of the way quickly enough to avoid it! The crack created a massive air pressure that shot toward a large mass of trees behind the man, toppling some of them over and sending many others flying back from the force!

The power of both the flames and the whip told Mark that both of them were no less than S-rank. They hadn’t shown their full power yet, but the density of mana needed to create the sort of feats they were creating from their movement had to be at least S-rank!

“Hey, that’s Lassie, isn’t it? The woman from Australia? What the hell is she doing fighting at this time? I thought they told us not to fight each other?”

“Yeah, that’s Lassie, but what the hell is the other guy? Does anyone recognize him?”

“He’s from one of the teams that just arrived! I think it was Brazil and Russia that were still on their way, right? Maybe he’s one of theirs?”

The murmurs from the crowd that was gathering reached Mark, and Mark was able to grab one or two things from some of the Americans who were talking. The superhumans from other countries were talking in their own languages, and if they had any idea about who the hell the man was, then Mark wasn’t able to figure it out. Mark could hear some of the superhumans from France saying that the man could be from Russia, but they were talking too quickly, and Mark’s understanding of French wasn’t advanced enough for him to grab anything more from them.

BOOM!

Another explosion echoed through the area as the man sent an attack at the woman, and the woman was barely able to dodge out of the way of the attack before she used her whip to grab a hold of a large tree at the side and flung it at the man like a javelin! The tree shot through the air like a fucking missile, and just before it could impale the man, the man raised his hand and immediately activated his flames!

BOOM!

A large blast of fire rose from his palm and incinerated the tree, blowing dust and ash through the air as the tree was immediately scorched, but the dust that rose managed to block out the man’s vision, and he wasn’t able to see the woman running towards him from the other side of the forest! The woman spun in the air and sent her whip forward with the intention of using it to grab the man around the neck, but before she could do it, the man caught sight of her from the side and he roared in exertion as he released a massive amount of mana from his body!

The woman realized the danger that was coming as the mana level in the area rose to unbelievable levels, and she immediately stopped what she had been planning as she started to try and get away from there, but the man was already prepared as he unleashed the flames into the air! The column of fire that burst out from the ground this time was so intense that everyone could feel it even from the other side of the clearing where they were standing close to their lodging.

Just from this alone, they could all immediately tell that the man had been holding back all this while.
