Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 761
Chapter 761: Meeting
The people were going absolutely mad for the announcement that Genshi just made, and it wasn’t just the people that were going crazy, Genshi himself had a mad smile on his face as he looked at all the superhumans sitting beside him with a critical gaze. It was at that moment that Mark realized that Genshi wasn’t just the director of the Japanese Superhuman Alliance. Genshi was also someone who enjoyed battle just as much as any other warrior. Genshi was looking forward to this just as much as the other viewers!

The ground under Mark’s feet was still shaking from the screams of the crowd, but after a while, Mark realized that it wasn’t just the ground that was shaking. It was his feet. Mark’s feet were literally vibrating with excitement from the announcement! Mark could feel his mouth straining into a mad grin, and he had to put his hand over his leg to prevent it from vibrating too much. Mark felt eyes on him again, and he turned to his right side and saw that it was Megumi who was staring at him once more.
Ah, so this is what she was looking at him for. Megumi knew about this beforehand. She knew that they were going to have to fight each other like this.
Mark didn’t bother looking away from Megumi this time. Instead, Mark allowed the mad grin that had been threatening to spread on his lips to finally appear in its full glory, and just for a moment, Mark thought he saw Megumi’s face twitch into a smile before it returned back to its normal stoic look. Mark couldn’t tell just from her expression alone, but Mark knew without a doubt that Megumi was looking forward to this tournament just as much as he was!
Neither Mark nor Megumi were conscious of the frenzy that their stare-down was causing in the entire room. They were in a world of their own, but the news outlets and media noticed what was happening and told all the cameras to turn towards both of them! The two strongest superhumans in the world were going to be facing off in the upcoming tournament, and just from the stare alone, everyone knew that they could look forward to a fight between them!
This was the moment when everyone would find out who was really worthy of the title of Strongest Superhuman!
…
Later that night, Mark received an invitation from Genshi Naruhito to have dinner with him at the Superhuman Alliance building right in the middle of Tokyo. Mark had been in the middle of setting up a plan of action for the upcoming tournament when he received the invite. Even though their main objective wasn’t to win the tournament, Mark didn’t intend to lose either. Mark was not the sort of person who went into any fight with the intention of losing, so Mark was still more than prepared to fight to the best of his abilities while keeping an eye out for the anima and the Russians.
When Mark got the invite, he told Luna and Arit that he had to go to the meeting, and he put Luna in charge of finishing up the planning. Mark had already given Luna a rundown of what he planned to do the next day, so it would be easy for her to draw out the plan for the others.
Mark’s intention for the upcoming fight was simple. He was going to be the central point of the battle while the others were going to be in charge of defeating animals and collecting as many crystals as possible from the other superhumans. Mark knew that other teams with undefined superhumans were also going to be doing the same thing. Since all of the crystals that the team members held were going to be pooled together at the end of the tournament, and their crystals were going to be counted at the same time, then wasn’t it the most sensible thing to just take the strongest member of your group and make that person the focal point of your plan?
Anytime a member of the group gets a crystal, either from an anima or from another superhuman, then they would bring the crystal to the strongest person, and that person would be holding onto the majority of the crystals for that group. Even though the chances of your entire team losing if the person was defeated was now high, it was still better than allowing the weaker members to hold onto the crystals when they were definitely going to be defeated once they ran into any other strong opponents.
What Mark planned to do was that the team would bring fifty percent of all the crystals that they get to him and they would hold onto the other fifty percent as they go around looking for more crystals. Mark was the strongest member of the team, so it would be far harder for anyone to even think of trying to attack him. This way, even if the other members are defeated, then Mark was still going to have enough crystals to allow them to get through the tournament, and if Mark somehow got taken out of the contest, then the crystals that the other team members had would be enough to take them through the tournament. It was a simple plan, but it was the simple plans that worked best in situations like these.
Mark left the lodging wearing a simple black pair of trousers and a black shirt that Arit picked out for him and entered a white Lexus that had been waiting for him in front of the hotel. Mark had a frown on his face as he sat in the car, and if not for the fact that Mark was not the sort of person to complain, he would’ve definitely said something about how irritatingly uncomfortable the car was. Mark preferred the Vanitas brand far more than this one. People might call it bias because he owned the Vanitas brand, but Mark just called it personal preference.
The car drove Mark to the Superhuman Alliance building at the center of Tokyo, and as they got near it, Mark couldn’t help but be impressed by the sheer size of the compound where the building was located. The compound was almost as large as the compound housing the Vanguard guild, but this was more impressive since it was government-owned and not a private organization.
They stopped in front of the building, and Mark noticed that there were no people loitering around. Mark didn’t know if it was because they had all finished work for the day or if Genshi did this on purpose so that no one else would know about this meeting but Mark knew that Superhuman Alliance buildings were normally never empty since there were always people working on one thing or another in there, so this had to have been planned.
Mark didn’t even consider for a moment that this could be a trap of any kind. Mark knew that Genshi wasn’t stupid enough to set up a trap for him in the center of such a busy city like Tokyo. If they were to fight here, then they would wipe the entire city off the map.
