Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 767
Chapter 767: Red Lightning
Genshi walked to the front of the group once more, and Mark’s translator buzzed in his ear as Genshi started to speak in Japanese.
“Ladies and gentlemen. It’s been an honor to host you so far in this tournament, but now the time has come for you to take center stage. I wish you luck, and I pray that the best country wins.”
DOON!
The large door behind Genshi started to open up, and all the countries started to move forward into the blinding light of the sun outside. Loud cheers and whistles could already reach Mark once the door opened, and Mark walked out to see that there were hundreds of people gathered around two military-grade helicopters that were waiting for them.
Some of the superhumans waved at all the people who were cheering for them, but Mark didn’t bother paying them any mind. Mark narrowed his eyes at the helicopter and wondered how in the world they were going to get onto the island. Were they going to be dropped off by the helicopter?
No, that wouldn’t have enough of an impact. Mark knew that this entire thing was a show for the civilians, so the Superhuman Association would never allow it to be boring! That could only mean that they were going to be thrown off the helicopter once they were over the island!
There were two women holding plaques in front of the helicopters, and each one had five countries on it to show that each of the helicopters was going to be carrying five countries. Mark was glad when he saw America being shown with Russia, and he moved toward the helicopter on the left that was designated for them! The cheers and whistles from the crowd only kept getting more intense, but Mark didn’t bother looking back at any of them as they all boarded and the helicopter took off!
As they flew, Mark kept his eye right on that of the Russian man who was the leader of the group. The Russian man obviously noticed Mark staring at him, and the man turned to Mark with a raised brow before giving Mark a forced, strained smile. Mark didn’t smile back, and neither did he acknowledge the man at all. After a while, the man felt too awkward and just had to turn away.
It wasn’t until then they were far enough from the mainland and right over Oshima island that the cargo hold of the plane started to open up. The Japanese soldier that was standing at the exit started to shout out instructions to them on how they were supposed to go down one after the other, and the first person to stand up to go was the leader of the Russians, Dimitri. Once he stood up, Mark frowned at him, and the man smiled at Mark before walking over to the edge of the plane and jumping off.
Another Russian was about to leave, but Mark quickly stood up from his seat and spoke to the other members of his team while fixing his gauntlets.
“I’ll take care of this one. Keep an eye on the rest of the Russians, and if you find anything, then send me a message immediately.”
All the Americans had snuck comms into the tournament so they could communicate easily, so Mark was sure that they would be able to contact him if they found anything important! Arit and Luna also stood up as they saw the rest of the Russians trying to get to Mark, and they stopped them from leaving and allowed Mark to walk up to the exit! Arit and the rest of the American team were going to work towards subduing the Russians while Mark handled the leader of the Russian team to find out what was going on.
“Hey, it’s not your turn yet. You have to wait for another Russian to leave first!”
The soldier at the door was trying to stop Mark from jumping off while shouting at him, but Mark just glared at the man in irritation and the man was smart enough to step back!
…
The Russian leader was freefalling from the air, and he was surprised when he turned around and didn’t see any of his team members coming after him! Why was an American coming after him!?
The man was only surprised for a moment before he caught sight of the signature mask that only GHOST wore, and his eyes widened in fear! Fuck!
The man cursed as he turned back around and streamlined his body so that he was falling even faster than before! Dimitri thought that he would have enough time to come up with a new strategy with his teammates, but if GHOST was coming after him now, then that could only mean that GHOST was onto them! He would have to hold GHOST back so that the rest of the team could go ahead and finish the plan!

Mark kept an eye on the Dimitra as he read through all of his stats quickly, and for a moment, Mark was stunned as he realized that there were Armageddon-class monsters on this island! What the hell was going on here?
Didn’t the Japanese government say that they only captured Disaster-class to Eldritch-class monsters? Does that mean that the monsters that snuck into the tournament were Armageddon class?
Seeing even one Armageddon was already difficult enough, but the system was practically telling Mark that he was going to encounter multiple Armageddon-class monsters on this island!
BOOM!
A loud sound echoed through the forest, and Mark decided not to pay too much attention to the presence of the Armageddon! He turned to see that the Russian leader had finally landed a small distance away from where Mark was going to land. The man was an ELITE Rank II, so landing wasn’t an issue for him at all, and the second he landed, he raised his hand in the air and the sky above began to darken as arcs of red lightning danced across the clouds!
Bzzt! Bzzt!
The man pointed his hand towards Mark, and at the next moment, a giant bolt of red lightning shot down from the sky and towards Mark! The man thought that Mark being in the air would prevent him from being able to dodge properly, but the man was shocked when Mark simply raised one hand towards the incoming lightning!
The Gauntlets of the Thunder God were natural lightning artifacts that could produce millions of volts when unleashed, so when Mark activated them, and the red lightning struck them, they immediately acted like a lightning rod, absorbing most of the lightning that had been coming towards Mark and gathering within Mark! Mark pointed his other hand towards the ground, and the gauntlet came to life!
[Lightning Surge]!!
BZZZTTT!!
