Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 777
Chapter 777: Kuro
Mark didn’t know it, but Megumi had actually felt something very serious happen in that moment. Even though Megumi never showed her emotions, that didn’t mean she couldn’t feel anything. In fact, Megumi tried her best to always be in touch with her emotional side ever since she realized that it was becoming harder and harder to feel.
So whenever she could, Megumi always looked out for her family and those around her. And in that split moment, Megumi noticed that one of the people she had always kept a watch on had vanished.
Megumi couldn’t feel her brother’s mana anymore!
…
[Three Minutes Earlier. On the other side of the island, with Kuro Yoshida [Megumi’s Brother.]]
Kuro sighed as he and one of the other members of the Japanese team walked through the dense forest of the island. The sun in the sky was already starting to set, and Kuro knew that it would become more difficult to fight against the anima the darker it got. This tournament was only meant to last until the next morning, so Kuro knew that they only had to get the most amount of crystals by then for Japan to win.
Now, if only Kuro knew where the fuck Megumi had gone off to.
After Megumi jumped off the plane to go and fight against Mark, Kuro and the rest of her Japanese team were held back because the rules had stated that the teams were not meant to all jump out from the plane at the same time. The Americans and Germans had already been sanctioned for their actions by having points deducted, and Kuro didn’t want Japan to lose points as well, so he decided that it would be best to just allow Megumi to do whatever she wanted.
Kuro stopped and raised a hand up to make the second man beside him stop as well. The two men were standing under the shade of a large tree, and Kuro moved the man to the side slightly so that the trunk of the tree was protecting them from being seen. After a few seconds, a large spider-based anima skittered out from behind another tree and started to move through the area while dragging the dead body of another anima behind it.
Kuro poked his hand to his side and silently ordered the man to surround the anima. From what Kuro could feel, the anima was only a mid-level calamity class, so it wasn’t going to be a problem for him to take it on. The second man went to surround it, and Kuro put his hand into a pouch, took some chalk, and used it to dry his palms out before drawing his katana out!
Shink!
The spider immediately zeroed in on Kuro’s position from the sound of the sword being drawn, and it screeched in agitation as it started to run towards Kuro, but an arrow whizzed through the air and slammed into the leg of the spider before exploding!
BOOM!
The arrow had been shot by the second man that was with Kuro, and Kuro didn’t waste the opening that the man had given him as he dashed forward!
SLASH!
A few seconds later, the two men were on the move again after scavenging through the body of the anima and taking out the large crystal that had been embedded in its body. Kuro also made sure that he took the crystal out from the anima that the spider had been dragging earlier. If they added these two crystals to the ones that they had already gotten from the anima they defeated before, then they had ten crystals in all.
‘Not a bad start.’
Kuro thought this as he sighed silently. Kuro knew that his fianceé would be watching the tournament as well, and he was glad that he was at least doing well enough to show off to her. They hadn’t run into any Eldritch classes yet, thankfully, so as an EPIC Rank I, Kuro didn’t find it hard to defeat any of the anima they met so far.
But at this rate, Kuro knew that they would eventually run into something that he didn’t stand a chance of defeating, so he was trying his best to find his sister. The other members of the Japanese team were also spread out in a wide circle, and they were all searching for Megumi. Anyone who finds her would use the comms that they snuck into the tournament to inform the others about it.
DOON!
Suddenly, Kuro felt something sinister in the air! Kuro’s brow furrowed and he put his hand to the side to stop the man beside him from walking as well as he felt his heartbeat spike! What the hell was that!?
Kuro didn’t even understand what he was feeling! He knew that it was anima mana, but he couldn’t even begin to describe it! It was the most sinister mana that Kuro had ever felt in his life! It was like he was standing in front of evil itself and he was about to be crushed by the intense pressure coming off of it!
Kuro was afraid.
Step! Step! Step!
The sound of footsteps rang through the area in front of Kuro as whatever it was that was there came closer to them, and every nerve in Kuro’s body screamed at him to run! They yelled and tried their best to force him into action, but Kuro just couldn’t move! It was like his muscles had been frozen stiff by the mere presence of this creature!
The creature finally made itself known and Kuro nearly blanked as he stared into the faceless anima with long, flowing white hair and black skin.
Bishop tilted her head to one side as she stared at the humans in front of her. Bishop had been on her way towards where she felt the QUEEN, and these were the first humans that she had met on her way there. How interesting.
Kuro thought that he was going to get attacked, but he was surprised when the white-haired anima turned around and started to walk away from him. Kuro’s brow furrowed as he watched her, and just before she left, she spoke up in a final tone.
“Make sure you don’t get any of his blood on my hair.”
Kuro frowned. What?

SQUELCH!
The sound of skin tearing filled the clearing and a searing pain spread through Kuro’s body as he felt something stab into his back and shoot out from his stomach! Kuro’s hands shook and he looked down to see that it was a long green arm that looked like a blade! Kuro quickly looked back and he saw that the man that had been standing there was no longer there. Instead, in his place was a large praying mantis-type anima that had large blades for arms!
“W-What?”
Kuro had been so distracted by the presence of the Bishop that he didn’t even notice that the Superhuman behind him was transforming into an anima!
The reach of the syndicate ran far deeper than anyone in the world thought. Not only was the syndicate present in Russia, but many of the Japanese superhumans were also part of the Syndicate. As an organization, the Syndicate thrived on tradition and anonymity, and the lifestyle of the Japanese matched their requirements perfectly.
The syndicate planted itself in Japan three years ago after Salazar’s first Armageddon attack on America failed, and from there, they spread their influence across many of the citizens of the country and drew them into their web, making their numbers grow at an outstanding pace.
Out of the ten Japanese superhumans that came to the island, five of them were secretly members of the syndicate and the superhuman that had been following Kuro was also one of them!
