Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 779
Chapter 779: Sudden Appearance
Alpha Six turned away from Arit’s fight and towards where Tina was destroying one of the Eldritch class anima-human hybrids. Tina was using her sword and Celestial Fury to drag the anima away from her partner, and she slowly started to pump the anima full of lightning from dark clouds that gathered above them. The monster couldn’t get to Tina because it couldn’t fly, and since Tina could easily reach it no matter where it ran to, it was like she was a cat playing with her food.
Alpha Six wondered where all of these anima-human hybrids suddenly arrived from. They were all far too powerful for them to have just gone under the radar for this long. The fact that they were all from the same country only served to make Alpha Six even more curious about what the hell was going on in this world. Alpha Six decided that since she had seen this, she was going to ask Henry to look into Russia and see exactly what sort of things they were doing there. It seemed the world had overlooked Russia’s actions for far too long.
But before Alpha Six could dwell on that thought for any longer, she caught sight of a large Tiger-based anima coming towards where she knew Arit was holding the Eldritch class anima. The Tiger was wearing torn and shredded human clothing, so Alpha Six could immediately tell that this wasn’t just any anima. It was another one of those human-anima hybrids. And just from looking at it, Alpha Six knew that it was far stronger than the one Arit was fighting against. There was blood on its hands, and it was sniffing the air at strange intervals.
It sniffed left, right, and then turned towards where Arit was and sniffed once before it gained a sadistic grin on its face and started to move toward her. Yeah, this one is definitely going to be an issue. I should definitely kill it before it gets too close.
Alpha Six turned her sniper rifle towards the perfect position to kill the beast and her eyes changed from her regular blue into the deep purple of an eagle. Alpha Six had been experimented on along with all the other members of Alpha Squad, and this experimentation gave her laser-like focus in her eye after her DNA was split with that of a bald eagle anima.
Alpha Six also gained the ability to grow feathers from her body and fly, but that could only happen when she lost control of her anima side. So long as she was taking her medicine and doses of anima-blood, she didn’t have any of the other powers of an eagle other than extraordinary eyesight.
That was why Alpha Six had been so pissed when Arit took one of her eyes away from her. If Alpha Six had lost both of her eyes, then she would have been discarded by Henry and taken back to the lab for more experiments. Once that happened, Alpha Six would never even see the light of day again. To Arit, taking Alpha Six’s eye was just a form of punishment for what she had done to Mark, but for Alpha Six, Arit taking her eye away was like Arit almost taking her life away.
Alpha Six prepared to fire the bullet that would kill the Tiger, but she paused as a strange thought crossed her mind.
‘Why don’t I just ignore it?’
Alpha Six hummed somewhere deep in her throat as she turned her scope from the anima to Arit and then back again. Alpha Six couldn’t fire at Arit herself since she knew that it would be too dangerous to try something like that. But that didn’t mean that Alpha Six couldn’t punish Arit for what she did to her. Arit was currently busy with the Eldritch anima that she was taking mana from, so if this one appeared from Arit’s blind spot and injured her, then that would at least be enough to placate Alpha Six’s anger.
Alpha Six slowly released her hand from the trigger and watched as the anima got closer and closer. It still didn’t look like Arit knew that it was there, so Alpha Six could feel a smile coming on her face as the anima suddenly broke through the line of bushes that had been blocking it from Arit and roared loudly as it got ready to pounce on Arit!
Arit raised her hand and waved it to the side while saying something into her comms, and a loud voice shouted from up above!
“Celestial Fury!!”
The tiger-based anima stumbled back in shock from the shout and looked up quickly to see what was going on, only for its eyes to widen in shock as it saw the wrath of the gods descending on it in the form of lightning!
BZZZZTTT!!!!
Thunderous blue lightning fell from the clouds and incinerated the monster as Tina landed on the ground a few meters away from Arit. Tina raised her hand to try and give Arit a high five, and Arit smiled before she raised her hand and allowed Tina to smack them together!
Tina struck a fantastic pose and screamed “Yeah!!” as the tiger-based monster stumbled forward and fell to its knees before falling forward in a dead heap.
Alpha Six cursed internally as she saw what happened, but that curse turned into an even louder one when she saw Arit turn away from the monster under her before Arit looked up right at Alpha Six! That look alone was enough to tell Alpha Six that Arit knew exactly what she had done, and Arit was not happy with her at all!
‘This bitch is going to take my other eye!’
Alpha Six swore in anger as she tried to think of a way to talk herself out of this one! How in the world was Alpha Six supposed to know that Arit had already noticed the monster and she was only ignoring it because she knew Tina would take care of it!
Arit stood from the ground after the monster under her had turned into a decrepit and dried husk of what it once was, and she rolled her shoulder as she started to move towards the large tiger-based anima to drain all the mana out of this one as well.
Alpha Six took a chance and decided to measure just how strong Arit was. All the Alphas were also part anima, so they had the innate ability to tell how powerful an anima was just by looking at its mana, and since Arit was someone with Anima powers as well, it was easy for Alpha Six to measure her.
Alpha Six glanced at Arit through her scope while using her senses to gauge just how much more powerful Arit was now, and Alpha Six could feel her heartbeat skyrocket as she saw the literal ocean of mana swirling inside of Arit! Isn’t this enough to be a mid-level Armageddon!?
“What the fuck is this woman!?”
Alpha Six cursed aloud as she saw the raw power inside of Arit and she quickly turned away from Arit. In that split moment, Alpha Six had felt an unbelievable urge to kill Arit in order to prevent her from becoming even stronger. Did Arit become this strong just because she was absorbing mana from Eldritch-class anima? If that were true, then what would happen if Arit managed to absorb mana from a few Armageddon-class anima? Alpha Six didn’t even want to think about it—
“She is truly interesting, isn’t she?”
‘Eh?’
