Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 780
Chapter 780: QUEEN and BISHOP
“She is truly quite interesting, isn’t she?”
‘Eh?’
There was a beat of silence that suddenly passed through the clearing. In the past, Alpha Six had watched a few documentaries about humans in the world and what it felt like for them to face off against strong creatures like bears and lions. Alpha Six always laughed at the pitiful way those humans described freezing up and feeling their entire bodies lock together like they were under some sort of spell. What sort of foolish creature didn’t know when to run away from danger? Why would you just stand there and allow your fear to control you?
This was Alpha Six’s mentality.
But at that moment, when Alpha Six heard that voice speak from right beside her, there was nothing in her body that could function anymore. Sweat trailed down the back of Alpha Six’s neck and she felt her entire body lock up in fear. She couldn’t move. She couldn’t blink. She couldn’t even breathe.
‘I’m going to die.’
This was the first thought that came to her mind once she felt a hand caressing the back of her neck. A black figure leaned forward so that it’s face was right beside Alpha Six’s, and Alpha Six heard it chuckle.
“You’re one of us, aren’t you? I can feel our mana surging through your veins. So tell me, why do you fight with the humans? Why aren’t you awakening to your true potential? Well, I suppose I cannot expect much from a half-breed. Among you, there are many failures.”
Alpha Six felt the hand on the back of her neck pressing down hard enough to take her to the ground! Alpha Six grunted in pain and fear, forcing her mouth to move as she muttered one single word.
“Help!”
CRACK!
BOOM!
The hand suddenly pressed down with the force of a mountain and tore through Alpha Six’s neck along with the entire cliff beneath her!
On the other side of the clearing, more than two kilometers away, Arit and Tina turned around in shock as they felt what had just happened! The ground under their legs began to shake and Arit felt her brow furrowing into a look of genuine worry as she felt pure malevolence surge through the air in the form of mana!
BOOM!
Black mana rose from the area where Alpha Six had just been, and Arit could tell without a doubt that this mana didn’t belong to Alpha Six. So does that mean that Alpha Six was already dead? Arit’s comms couldn’t contact Alpha Six since Alpha Six didn’t bother using the comms that the rest of them had, so there was no way Arit could contact her.
“Tina, we need to move.”
Arit suddenly spoke up to Tina as she started to move away from the black mana that had surged into the air. Arit was not the sort of person to run away from a fight, but right now, even the Queen was telling Arit that this was not an opponent that she could win against. This was pure evil incarnate! Tina turned to look at Arit in surprise when Arit told her to start moving. Tina didn’t think she would even hear Arit mention retreating, but Tina immediately knew that this must be a big deal if even Arit was unwilling to fight!
Arit and Tina immediately turned around and spread their wings to get away, but before they could go anywhere, the world imploded under them!
BOOM!
The ground cracked and splintered, trees were uprooted, rocks were broken into pieces, and even the multiple smaller anima that had been hiding in the forest were also killed by the sheer power that was unleashed at that moment! Something surged forward to try and grab both Arit and Tina, and Arit was able to notice the danger before it got her, and she moved her body accordingly to dodge it by pure instincts alone, but Tina was not so lucky!
Tina cursed as something latched onto her leg and she was pulled back down to the ground! Tina raised her hand towards Arit to try and get her to help out, and Arit also tried to catch Tina’s hand once she saw what was happening, but she was too slow and Tina flew past Arit at sonic speed and slammed into the ground!
BOOM!
Arit was immediately on the move! Arit flew down to where she knew Tina had landed, and she used her wings to clear out the massive dust cloud that rose from the impact! Arit expected to see an anima or any type of monster holding Tina down, but surprisingly, there was nothing like that. Tina was already removing the strings that had dragged her down from her leg, and Arit narrowed her eyes in curiosity when she saw that the strings weren’t strings at all.
‘Is that hair?’
“Hehehe, so you really are human? Even in that form? Interesting. You humans are the same no matter where you go. Put one weak human in danger and you’ll get another stronger human as an extra treat. Tear through one weak human and a stronger human will run at you and try to kill you. It’s so easy with you creatures.”
A voice rang out from the other side of the ruined forest, and Arit turned towards it. She saw a black figure emerging from behind a group of fallen trees. The figure had a feminine build, but that was the only similarity it had with any human. Its face had nothing but a pair of slitted golden eyes that glared at everything around it malevolently. There were white swirling lines dancing across the creature’s black skin like full-body tattoos, and its long white hair was spread all around it in a wave, pure as snowfall.
Arit glanced from the creature’s hair to the strands that had trapped Tina’s leg, and she figured that it was the hair that pulled Tina down. Is that what the creature uses to fight?
‘Can it only use its hair, or is there some other ability it has? Maybe those tattoos are something too? If it’s only using its hair, then that could only mean that it is a ranged fighter. I’ll move in and try to attack from close quarters. That might be the only way to defeat it.’
In a battle, the only thing you could do against an opponent you knew nothing about was to try and see what worked. If you cannot escape, then your only option is to figure out the best method of defeating the opponent while making sure the opponent didn’t figure out all of your abilities as well.

Arit stepped forward to block the creature’s view from Tina, and the creature just smiled as it turned to look at Arit from head to toe. There was a curious look in its eyes like it was studying her to see what made Arit tick.
“That form you are taking… tell me, is there really no remnants of the true QUEEN inside of you? Has the QUEEN truly been defeated by the mind of a mere human?”
The creature spoke with an accent that made it obvious that it was not used to speaking in English, but its pronunciation was good enough for them to tell exactly what it was saying.
