Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 800
Chapter 800: The Anima King
Pat told Mark that he had already taken care of that as he turned away from the MDS that was still tracking the mana signatures for the anima and started to type into another laptop at his side. Mark decided to leave Pat to his devices as he walked out with Luna, knowing that if anyone could figure out what was written in that book, it would be Pat. So, Mark was going to bet on him and hope things worked out.
…
[Russia. Moscow.]
A lone figure, standing at two meters in height, walked through the lonely forest outside the president’s mansion in Moscow. The figure had four arms and a slender feminine body which was covered in various areas by keratin armor.
Its head was oval and smooth, but more keratin armor covered its eyes, making it seem like it was wearing visors. The creature’s skin was black, and behind it were four ant wings that were folded downwards. This was the creature known to the anima as the Knight.
The Knight walked across the forest respectfully until it got to a wide space in the center of the forest where a lone figure was lying on the ground and basking in the sun. This figure was the same one that had appeared from the Russian ocean months ago and the same one that befriended and abandoned the Russian girl in his never-ending curiosity.
“My KING.”
The Knight fell to her knees once she was before the anima King, and the King slowly fluttered its eyes open as it saw the sun right above it. With its awakening, the forest all around it fluttered and moved like a living organism, and the creatures living in the forest all ran away from where they had been resting.
The King’s mouth opened and spoke.
“What is it, Knight?”
The Knight almost fell flat when she heard the voice of the King! Her entire body shivered, and she could feel his raw power slamming into her with the force of all the greatness held within him! Oh, how she wished she could be by his side forever! If only there had been a chance for her to be born as the queen, she would have given herself to him the moment he asked her of it! It was just her fate that she was born not as a QUEEN, but as a knight. She was the silent protector who was destined to stand behind the King forever. She was never going to have the chance to be beside him.
The Knight bowed her head low and spoke.
“There has been news about the recent attack on the Japanese island. It appears that the plan failed, my KING.”
The King released a calm sigh before he said three words.
“Bishop is dead.”
The Knight did not need to say anything to affirm these words. The Knight knew that the King was connected to all anima, so he could feel when an anima was still alive or when it had died. It would be foolish for her to think that the King didn’t already know that the Bishop was dead even before he got the report from the other anima.
The King finally sat up from the floor. His green body and rough skin contrasted with the serene atmosphere around him, making him seem like a peaceful beast who was one with nature and himself. The King looked up to the sky, basking in the sun for a few moments, and the Knight waited patiently for him to speak once more.
The King did not expect much from the Bishop’s plan. Right from the beginning, the King had a feeling that the Bishop’s plan was not only going to fail, but it would fail miserably. There were too many inconsistencies in it, and she was too desperate to prove herself to him. It was only her lack of resolve that led to this fate.
But even in the failure, there was still some success.
“The Bishop managed to kill many of the strongest superhumans in the world, did she not?”
The Knight’s thin lips stretched into a smile as she nodded in confirmation.
“Of the hundred superhumans that were present in the tournament, no more than half of them survived.”
The superhumans that came for the tournament in Japan were some of the strongest in the entire world. This meant that by killing off so many of them, the Bishop was able to bring down the overall fighting force of the humans by a large margin. Not only would there be many countries that didn’t have that much protection anymore due to their superhumans being dead, but there would also be far fewer superhumans there to stop the King when he began his actual plan.
Even though the Bishop did not succeed in killing Megumi Yoshida, this was not a failure.
The King stood from the ground and towered over the kneeling Knight. The Knight felt the pressure from the King’s presence pressing down on her, and she bowed even lower in reverence as she awaited his orders. The King put his hand out and placed it on top of the Knight’s head while talking.
“The Rook is somewhere out there, healing. Send some anima to him with food and have them nurse him back to health. We will need him when the time comes. Gather the humans who have dedicated themselves to our cause and have them gather in the main court. It is time for us to begin.”
The Knight felt a smile growing on her lips as she heard her king say this, and she immediately bowed low once more before she stood and took off into the sky to do as she was told.
The King went back to the middle of the field and lay back down to bask in the sun while waiting for the Knight to return.
…
The Knight flew towards the large mansion in the middle of Moscow where the Russian president and his cabinet were being hosted by the Syndicate.

Over the past few months, things have changed a lot in Russia. The presence of the King had been a myth that spread around the outskirts of the Russian peninsula for many months. The people knew that there was an anima living amongst them, but no one ever thought that it was real because the rumors said that the anima was following around some girl and doing as she said.
But that rumor didn’t last long before it was dispelled when they found the dead body of the girl a few days later. After they found the dead body of the girl, there was a state of panic that surged through the residents of the outskirts as they wondered where the anima had gone.
People started to disappear in various parts of the Russian outskirts, and the Russian government, which had been neglecting the people out there all this time, began to grow aware of what was happening as it got worse. The number of missing persons grew every day until more than a hundred people had gone missing in only two weeks.
The Russian government sent out officers to stop the anima from doing any more damage. But at that point, things had already gone out of control. The anima killed all the officers and then took over one of the military outposts that was located on the Russian outskirts. This action caused the government to send a small group of five superhumans, all of whom were around B to A rank.
