Chapter 814: Simultaneous Attack
Gensi was more than willing to pour resources into making sure that the monster never found its way out of Germany.
The world government was already talking about the situation as well and what they would do about it all. If the world government eventually suggested that they had to nuke the entire country to make sure it didn’t get out of Germany, then Genshi was not going to stop them.
Genshi looked Mark in the eye with a strong resolve. Genshi needed Mark to head to Germany as soon as possible.
Mark turned away from Genshi after a few seconds, and his eyes landed on Megumi, who was standing behind Genshi. Mark’s mind whirled before his eyes narrowed as a thought came to him, and he finally nodded to himself as he realized what they had to do in that split minute! They were going to launch a consecutive attack.
Mark turned and started to walk out of the building. Genshi was surprised and called out to Mark as he watched him go, but Mark didn’t stop as he headed down the street where some of the anima that he had killed were still lying still.
Mark walked forward as he looked at all the dead bodies of anima, and finally, when Mark saw one of the anima leaning against a building with its right arm missing, he spoke up.
“You’re there, aren’t you?”
The anima didn’t make any movements at first, and Mark thought for a second that the anima KING was not going to respond, but finally, after a few seconds, the anima seemed to come to life once again as its eyes blinked, and it turned them towards where Mark was standing. The anima KING’s voice filtered through the mouth of the dead anima.
“This is the first time you will seek me out. Did you think about my offer and decide to agree?”
Mark put his hands on his waist and spoke up in a calm tone.
“No, I didn’t. I have another proposition for you.”
The anima KING hummed in surprise and interest as its eyes became even more focused on Mark.
On the other side, the anima KING was sitting on top of a tall skyscraper in the middle of Germany while talking to Mark through the dead anima and its subjects were busy laying waste to the large city below it while it watched on in mild interest.
Finally, after a few seconds, the anima KING spoke up.
“What is it that you wish to propose, human KING?”
“A death battle. You and me alone. We will choose the time and a place. There will be no spectators, no subjects. We will fight like KINGs, one on one, and at the end of it all, only one of us will make our way back to the people we left behind.”
The anima KING was intrigued, and its surprise was not small. It never thought that Mark would be the sort of person to suggest something like this.
In truth, the anima KING had also thought about suggesting a battle of this manner. The anima KING was not a bloodthirsty creature like the other anima. The thought of killing off all the humans in the world before they would be able to take over was unappealing to it.
What would they be able to eat?
Who will work the fields and who will take care of their needs?
The anima KING knew that they would need humans as slaves and food, so fighting and killing all of them was senseless. Instead, would it not be better for everyone if the two strongest members of the races fought a battle and decided the fate of their people using that? There was no hesitation in the anima KING’s mind.
What if Mark was stronger than him?
The animal KING never even thought about that! He knew that he possessed power beyond anything an anima or human could dream of! He was the strongest.
Mark was still waiting on the other end of the conversation for the anima KING’s response. Mark didn’t know if this would even work.
Right now, Mark was making a gamble on the anima KING’s personality from the small conversations they had before. Mark knew that the anima KING was intelligent and prideful. He would not refuse a direct challenge from someone he sees as lower than him. It would be a blow to his ego.
And after a while, just like Mark thought, the animal KING gave an answer!
“You truly wish to throw your life down for your people, don’t you?”
The anima KING’s tone easily told Mark that the KING was looking down on him.
He thought that Mark was not going to even put up a good fight. He was just going to be killed pointlessly.
Mark felt a small amount of anger rising from inside him as he heard the KING’s words, but Mark didn’t let it bother him. Instead, he just waited for the KING to give him a proper answer.

The KING looked Mark in the eye and finally agreed.
“Very well then, we shall have our battle. You and I, with no one but ourselves to bear witness to it. My people shall reach out to your people with the time and place. Until then, you may say your last words to your loved ones. I believe humans are keen on doing that before going into battle because they will never see each other again. It will be a shame, human KING, you would have made a perfect servant had you simply laid down your arms—”
SQUELCH!
Mark smashed the head of the dead anima to pieces as he got too angered by the trash talk. Hearing a fucking anima say things like that was so irritating that Mark had to take a silent breath to calm himself.
‘I’m going to fucking kill that bastard.’
This thought repeated through Mark’s mind over and over again, and Mark waited a while before he finally opened his eyes and turned to the right to see Megumi standing there with her usual stoic face. Megumi had heard everything that Mark just spoke about with the animal KING and she was so confused by the entire thing that she couldn’t help but ask.
“What is happening?”
Megumi took steps closer to Mark, and Mark just turned and looked down at the short woman calmly. When Mark spoke, it was not at all what Megumi wanted to hear.
“I need you to do something for me, Megumi. There’s an enemy over the ocean, something I don’t think I can handle right now. I need you to go there as your first mission. Can you do that?”
Megumi tried to frown in irritation, but she figured that she couldn’t with how stoic she had become. Megumi put her hand up to her forehead and waited for Mark to use his blessing on her once again.
Once Megumi could feel her emotions returning to her, she finally frowned and grabbed Mark by the shirt angrily!
“Are you trying to get yourself killed!? Don’t think I didn’t hear that conversation! You want to go fight against that thing on your own!? You think your life is some sort of bargaining item!?”
Mark glared down at Megumi in anger, and after a while, Megumi realized what she was doing and slowly let go of Mark’s shirt and stepped back with a small blush on her face. Megumi’s emotional outburst happened because of how much she had been keeping in all this while.
She never intended to shout like that.
Megumi ran a hand through her hair and sighed.
“I’m sorry I did that. I wasn’t thinking straight. But I am not happy with what I heard. Why do you want to go fight alone? You shouldn’t have to do that.”
Mark spoke up.
“Megumi. I need you to go to the middle of the ocean on a mission for me. Can you do it?”
Mark stared straight into Megumi’s eyes, and Megumi saw Mark’s unshakable resolve in there. Mark was not going to change his mind about the decision he had made. Megumi sighed and nodded seriously.
“Yes, I’ll go.”
