Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 823
Chapter 823: We Finally Meet
As the woman let go and headed for one of the planes, more and more people also gained their confidence as they started to head forward. And as they passed, each and every one of them stretched their hands out toward Mark to try and touch him and thank him for what he was doing.
The gratefulness and reverence from the crowd were not lost on Mark, but Mark did not waver. Mark was calm as he kept his eyes on the crowd of anima surrounding him, watching their every move to make sure that they didn’t attack any of the humans.
Mark watched as a child came up to him and touched his leg, just like her parents had. The child said “Thank you” to Mark in German, and Mark looked down at the child only for a moment before turning back to the anima.
There were no emotions for Mark to feel at that moment. Mark felt calm and waited as the time ticked on.
…
The dark night descended upon the airport, dusting the planes in darkened black and reducing the visibility for the pilots that were still left to carry people, but the bright light shone by Mark’s [Crown of the Golden Horizon] as well as the lights lining the side of the runway gave the pilots enough visibility to continue their mission.
The island that Mark spoke about had reached its capacity a long time ago, and the remaining pilots all planned on carrying the people out into the ocean as far as their fuel would go before landing on the water and waiting there for the fighting to end.
It was the only way they could ensure that they didn’t end up in the middle of another animal attack by landing on another continent.
Mark was still standing and waiting as the people began to reduce in number. There were less than a hundred left, and Mark made sure that every single one of them had entered a plane and gone out of the continent before Mark started to move forward.
As Mark passed the anima, they all screeched and sneered at him loudly, trying to provoke Mark and make him lash out so that they would have an excuse to go against the KING’s orders, but Mark was calm, and he didn’t bother looking at them.
As Mark passed the Knight, he heard her speak.
“I was meant to hold the position of QUEEN in this army, but that position was taken from me by your actions. You don’t need to fear being alone in the afterlife, I will take it upon myself to make sure that the traitor QUEEN is nothing but a memory very soon. I will kill that traitor and take my rightful place on the throne beside my KING.”
Mark’s hand tightened into a fist as he heard this, and he immediately felt like lashing out at the Knight.
The Knight was practically announcing to him that she was going to be targeting Arit!
Mark didn’t have any problem with them threatening him, but the cold rage surged out from inside him once he heard her threaten Arit!
But Mark had to force that rage back down and calm it. Mark knew that the Knight was just provoking him. If Mark lashed out here, then he was going to have to fight the full force of the anima on this continent before he could get to the KING.
Mark was strong, but he knew that he couldn’t defeat all these anima and still have enough power to fight the anima KING. Mark had to be reasonable.
Mark calmed his heart and turned away from the Knight to walk away. But just before leaving, Mark spoke.
“There’s a reason why you were not made the QUEEN, you fucking ant. When you face her, you’ll find out why.”
Mark didn’t bother turning around to see the effects of his words, but he heard the Knight screech in rage from behind him.
Mark walked into the airport while spreading his senses out to see where the KING was. The anima KING had released his aura a while ago, so it was easy for Mark to use it in tracking him down.
He was more than a thousand kilometers away from where Mark was, and Mark crouched and blasted off toward that direction while putting his hand to his ear and making a call to Pat.
[Yeah.]
Pat answered immediately.
“The humans are in the air, send out superhumans to intercept them and make sure they are alright. They’ll be landing somewhere in the North Atlantic. The anima are going to be heading to Japan and other parts of the world. You need to track them and send the troops out to intercept them as well. And tell Arit to be careful. There’s an anima that’s targeting her specifically. It’s pretty strong.”
[Yeah, got it. I’ll get on it right now. Do you need eyes in the sky?]
Mark felt a small smile tugging at the side of his lips as he heard Pat ask this. Mark leaped off another building, crossing hundreds of miles in one jump while answering Pat.
“Of course I do, you bastard.”
Mark continued on his way like this for a while.
The streets of Germany were completely deserted, and only the dead bodies of anima and humans littered the streets, staining everything in blood. There were broken houses, abandoned cars, and toppled monuments for as far as the eye could see, and Mark knew the battle that raged in this country was far greater than anyone could imagine.

The news channels hadn’t been able to cover just how much damage was done. Mark ignored the damages and bodies around him as he continued forward, and three minutes later, Mark finally reached Berlin, the capital city of Germany.
Mark landed on top of a tall skyscraper, and the entire building shook from the force of Mark’s landing. Mark tightened his gauntlets against his forearms and looked forward calmly to meet the eye of his fellow KING.
The anima KING allowed its glaring red eyes to roam over Mark’s figure before resting its impassive gaze on Mark’s own and speaking.
“I’ve been waiting for you, human KING. We finally meet.”
…
[Airspace over the North Atlantic Ocean.]
Ratatatatat!
The sound of hundreds of military-grade helicopters and the hum of airplanes echoed from the distant horizon as the night sky was lit up by hundreds of aircraft carrying superhumans toward the center of the Bermuda Triangle.
Every single person on the airplane was a superhuman, even the pilots, so you would think that there wasn’t anyone who was afraid of moving into the Bermuda Triangle, but that was wrong!
Even though there were hundreds of superhumans moving together, there was no one there who didn’t feel nervousness spreading through their bodies about the upcoming fight!
It wasn’t only due to all the myths that they had heard about aircrafts going down in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle and disappearing without any trace; it was also because they knew they were going to be fighting the largest battle of their lives!
The superhumans there were all Superhuman Alliance agents and members of the Vanguard unit, so they had been prepared for this for months, but that was not enough to reduce the nerves!
In the plane leading all the others, Luna fingered the symbol of Vantias that had been given to her by the priestess. They had all been briefed about how the fight was going to go by Pat and all of the superhumans that were acting as leaders were given comms that would allow them to communicate with and order around the superhumans the best way possible.
But even still, Luna found her mind going towards Mark.
