Chapter 828: Seperation

Megumi jumped out from the airplane as she saw the giant monster that had crested out from the ocean!

It was larger than Megumi thought it would be! It was gigantic. Like a city!

But that didn’t mean it was going to stop her from doing exactly what she wanted to do!

Megumi’s plan for this battle was simple! She was going to kill this monster as quickly as possible and go help Mark with fighting the Anima KING!

Even though Megumi was confident in Mark’s ability to fight any opponent he was faced with, there was a more selfish reason why Megumi wanted to make sure Mark was okay.

Mark was the only one who was able to allow her feet to touch the ground, and Megumi knew that if Mark died, then she was going to be cursed to a life of emotionlessness forever. Megumi didn’t want to lose Mark for this one reason!

Megumi drew her katana as she freefell from the sky, and the night sky lit up with Megumi’s purple mana as she coated her blade in raw power! She drew her sword back and aimed straight for the monster’s neck!

ROARRRR!

The giant monster turned its head towards Megumi just as she was about to strike it and roared in anger! And from its mouth flew out hundreds of Anima that raced towards Megumi like bats out of hell!

Megumi was forced to redirect her slash towards another Anima that would have body-slammed her if she had continued going, but she wasn’t able to do anything about the Anima after that one as she was sent out of the air by a giant armadillo-like Anima with a hard rock shell!

The giant Anima turned its head to the other Superhumans around and continued to spit out Anima everywhere around it like a wave of pure carnage!

The Superhumans on the ground had to turn their attention to the Anima that were being thrown at them, and a massive fight broke out among them as the sound of explosions and screams of exertion filled the area! The Anima were all smaller-ranked Anima, from Disaster to Calamity class, but that didn’t mean they were not dangerous!

The Anima pushed back against the Supeahumans, and Alec Ben flashed in and out of existence while killing hundreds of them at the same time with his sword! Alec Ben flicked his sword to the side and looked up into the sky at the Anima that was still heading towards them. He watched as the Superhumans from Japan started to attack those Anima with their aircraft!

The Superhumans used the aircraft as weapons, jumping out of the aircraft and leaving it to continue towards the Anima and explode on impact with them, lighting up the sky in bright yellow fire with each explosion!

There were hundreds of aircrafts in the air, and all of them had been used as weapons to reduce the number of Anima, but even still, there were many Anima that survived and continued their path down to where the Superhumans were!

Alec called out to the Superhumans with Air-based blessings and told them to attack the Anima in the sky before they could get to the platform! The Anima would sink the platform if they all landed!

The air-based Superhumans all shot into the sky to start their own attack while the other Superhumans that didn’t have any air-based blessings continued trying to deal with the surge of Anima that the giant Anima was still spitting out at them!

Luna had already charged forward to confront the giant Anima, and at her side, she saw a laughing Alpha One with his twin swords held behind him like wings ready to take off from the ground!

He blasted off the ground towards the giant monster without any care for those around him, destroying large portions of the floating platform in the process!

His laughter rang even louder as his blade struck the monster in the side, making it tilt its head a little from the force before it turned towards him and used its head like a battering ram to blast him out of the sky!

BAM!

Alpha One shot down into the water like a rocket, and the Anima roared as it turned to attack another group of Superhumans that had tried to get close from the other side!

The large dome on the back of the Anima slowly began to shift, and Luna frowned in confusion as she saw a small space opening up at the bottom of the structure! Someone inside the structure began to throw something out, and Luna saw that it was hundreds of large eggs that immediately fell out of the dome and into the ocean once they were unleashed.

The large eggs began to sink into the water as the large Anima was still fighting and thrashing against the Superhumans, and although Luna was curious about what had thrown the eggs out in the first place. Luna kept her eyes on the ocean to see what the eggs were!

The first of the Anima’s eggs broke and unleashed a beast that burst out of the ocean like a rocket!

It was a large humanoid-looking creature with green skin and red eyes that pierced through the minds of anything that it looked at!

The creature had a head like a starfish with eight mandibles that contracted together to form a point in front of its face!

And from what Luna could feel, it was strong! Stronger than even an Eldritch!

“ARRGGHH!”

A man at the side who was pumped full of adrenaline shouted in anger as he headed straight for the beast, and Luna shouted for him to stop! He wasn’t thinking straight!

That thing was too powerful!

But the man was already too far gone in his battle frenzy as he thrust his spear toward it to try and skewer the monster!

BAM!

SPLASH!

The monster just swung its arm to the side like it was swatting away a fly, and the man was erased from existence immediately!

It wasn’t even something that could be called ‘killing.’

One moment, the man was there, and the next, everything about him had been reduced to nothing but a spray of blood that splashed into the ocean like trash!

Luna felt her blood run cold at that display of power, and the fact that hundreds of them had been thrown into the ocean! Luna immediately put her hand out while shouting to Alec Ben!

“Alec! We need to separate the fight!”

Luna quickly started to form a large ice wall between the giant monster and the rest of the Superhumans that were fighting against the Anima that came from the sky! Megumi, Luna, Alec, and the other undefined Superhumans that were facing off against the large Anima were put on one side of the ice wall, and the weaker Superhumans were left to their own devices on the other side!

From the ocean, more of the green-skinned Anima that had hatched from the eggs started to emerge, and Alec flashed to Luna’s side and asked her what happened!

“They’re all Elder Eldritch class or stronger. We can’t allow them to get to the other Superhumans; we have to stop them here!”

Alec flicked his sword and removed the blood that had gotten on it before nodding to Luna, and Luna only spared a glance up to look at where Megumi was battling against the giant Anima and holding its attention before she had Alec race forward with the other undefined Superhumans to confront the monsters!
