Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 831
Chapter 831: The Will to Live
Jeanne jumped out from the airplane once it was over the ocean and dived into the water to help Arit!
Arit was her apprentice and the mentor’s job was to make sure their apprentice lived longer than them at least!
Jeanne pulled Arit to the surface, Jeanne held Arit up and smacked her cheek while asking if she was awake!
“Arit! Arit, are you awake!? Arit!”
“J-Jea…”
Arit’s voice was muddled and blurry, and Jeanne realized exactly what had happened once she saw the bite mark and the blackness spreading across Arit’s hand. Poison!
Jeanne quickly activated her blessing and used [Analyse] to find out just how much she needed to do to make sure that Arit lived. The poison had spread to Arit’s heart already, but thankfully, it was not completely infected and there was still a chance. Jeanne spoke up.
“Arit, this is going to take two years from you! Just hold on!”
Jeanne immediately activated her second blessing, and the blackness surrounding Arit’s hand slowly started to return to Arit’s normal purple skin as Jeanne healed her!
Jeanne had to stay concentrated for a few minutes to make sure that Arit was going to be okay. There were other injuries on Arit’s body that were all bleeding seriously, but Jeanne didn’t want to heal those with her blessings since she knew that Arit wouldn’t die from mere blood loss. Jeanne would wait for a few minutes, and if they weren’t rescued soon, then she would just heal them enough to stop the bleeding. Jeanne looked up in the sky with a worried expression on her face as she held Arit’s unconscious body!
Arit was still bleeding from her wounds, and they were both bobbed and tossed around by the harsh waves of the ocean, making the wounds bleed even more.
Jeanne wasn’t a religious person, but at that moment, she prayed that someone would come quickly so that she could get Arit out of the water!
Thankfully, about five minutes later, Jeanne felt a loud laugh echo from inside her as she heard the unmistakable sound of a helicopter echoing from the distance!
…
[Germany]
The country was a wasteland of death and destruction.
Arid smoke filled the night air from the massive explosions that had destroyed most of the country. Water flooded the streets, sweeping away dead bodies of anima and humans alike in its ferocity. Broken buildings and monuments were a testament to just how much damage had been done upon the land.
And in the origin of all this destruction, two behemoths battled with the ferocity of undying gods!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Three massive explosions echoed through the night, lighting up the horizon and sending a figure flying backward! Mark slammed through more than four buildings before ending up inside a large museum!
Mark flipped over and grabbed one of the pillars from the side at the exact moment that the large anima KING appeared from the window with its arm drawn back, and Mark swung the pillar like a bat!
“RARRGH!!”
KA-POW!
A sound like a bat hitting a baseball echoed with intensity as the anima King was sent flying back from the direction it had just come through! Mark crouched into a runner’s stance, took two steps that broke the ground beneath his feet before blasting off the ground after the anima KING!
BOOM!
Mark had lost his shirt in the battle, along with most of his trousers, and he was only left in tattered clothes that barely covered him as he battled against the monster.
The battle had been raging for close to an hour now, with neither side backing down or giving any form of opening to the other.
When Mark entered this battle, he knew that the anima King had been stronger than him. There was an ocean of power in the anima KING’s body that showed there was a difference in power-level between them! But Mark knew that his power boost was not going to last for long!

The [Moral Legend] skill’s ability gave Mark a boost to his strength and durability with each person that followed him, and as the number increased, Mark felt the gap between him and the anima King shortening faster than ever until eventually, Mark knew that he had more power than the anima KING.
But there was something else that made his fight last for as long as it had. The anima KING was also growing stronger. As Mark grew more powerful and started to overpower the anima KING, he noticed that there was a surge in power from the anima KING in irregular intervals. Mark didn’t know what was causing it, but he could only guess that it was something similar to what his [Mortal Legend] skill did for him.
This meant that it had something to do with the anima that were all around the world. Was there some sort of ability that gave the anima KING more power the more anima there were? Or was it related to how many humans the anima KING killed?
Mark didn’t know the answer to these questions, and he decided that the only way he would be able to kill the anima KING was by hitting him with everything he had all at once when the time was right!
Mark appeared in the spot where the anima KING had crashed after his flight, and Mark put his hand in the air and summoned all of the lightning he could gather! The lightning surged towards Mark like he was a lightning rod, coursing through his body and lighting him up as he shot down to the anima KING with his fist pulled back!
[Astral Hit: Lightning]!
This was another skill that Mark had created in the middle of the fight! The Astral skill allowed Mark to supplement his punches with a wave of mana that attacked the opponent milliseconds before his own punch hit, and now that the lightning skill was attached to it as well, that meant he had even more damage added to that already devastating skill!
BZZZTTT!!
The lightning punch shot forward at the perfect angle, but just before it could hit, the Anima King raised his hands, using his left forearm to block Mark’s strike while pointing the palm of his right hand toward him—a beautiful mix of defense and counterattack!
Mark immediately stopped his momentum and put up the gauntlet on his other hand to block the incoming attack as both strikes collided at the same time!
BOOM!
This was another thing that Mark had realized about the Anima King during their fights—he was a fast learner. Not only had the Anima King figured out how to defend himself after watching Mark do it a few times, but he was also good at attacking Mark at the moment he least expected it to maximize the damage!
The blast of pure mana slammed into Mark’s gauntlet and was redirected to the side, shooting past his shoulder instead of hitting his face!
Mark felt his shoulder sizzle like bacon under the corrosive nature of the mana, and he immediately activated [Healing Aura] to counter the pain!
The Anima King, on the other hand, felt his arm crack and break from Mark’s lightning punch! The limb twisted inward, and the only reason it hadn’t torn off his body was because Mark had pulled his punch!
