Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 846
Chapter 846: The Epilogue [3]
Pat was now older, just like Mark, and he had a stubble growing on his chin that made him look very mature. Grace also looked like a more mature version of what she had been like before, and Mark couldn’t believe that these two were trying to get married. They were going to kill each other.
“Hey, you bastard. What’s with the sudden lunch invite—OW!”
Pat spoke up in his normal nonchalant way to Mark, but he shouted in pain as Grace smacked him on the hand hard once she heard it! Was Pat crazy!?
“That’s a god, you idiot! Show some respect!”
“Are you insane, woman!? You hit like a gorilla!”
Mark just chuckled and went to give Pat a handshake before telling Grace that it was okay.
Mark already had a lot of people changing their attitude towards him now that he was a god, having Pat also change his attitude would be too much.
“How’s Kevin? Did you guys leave him at home?”
Pat scratched the back of his head with a sigh. Kevin was Pat and Grace’s kid that they had a few years ago after a few too many rounds of unprotected sex. Grace had been terrified about having a child out of wedlock but they weren’t able to get married yet because Mark was getting married around that time, and Pat knew it would be a bad idea to try and share the spotlight on a day like that.
So, they had the child and dealt with the aftermath of the lashing out from Grace’s parents and Jeanne, and now that they had time, they were planning to get married.
Grace was the one who spoke up.
“Yeah, we left him with my parents. I haven’t gotten a good night of sleep in ages, so we figured we’d take today to ourselves.”
“Maybe if you two geniuses thought about all of this beforehand, you wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Jeanne’s voice came from behind the both of them as she also walked into Mark’s house, and Pat rolled his eyes at his sister. Jeanne gave Pat a look, and Pat turned away with a frown before Jeanne shook her head. Jeanne was still angry that Pat would make the same mistake that Mark made, and unlike Mark and Arit, who had their superhuman genes to thank for saving them, Pat and Grace didn’t have that.
Jeanne just sighed and went to hug Mark.
“Hey, thanks for the invite.”
“No problem. Come on, let’s get seated.”
They all took their seats at the table, with Mark at the head and Arit and Luan sitting on either side of him.
Mark looked over the large group and felt a small smile stretching across his lips as they all waited for him to start first.
Mark knew that all of this was just temporary.
But to Mark, that was what made it all the more beautiful.
After all, a thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts forever.
It’s beautiful because it doesn’t.
Mark spoke up with amusement, emphasizing every word.
“Come on, guys, no need for all this formal shit. Dig in.”
Jack immediately reached across the table and grabbed a large bowl of rice before he started to scarf it down, and this made everyone at the table laugh in amusement as they also started to reach for the food on the table. The laughter echoed through the large family room, and Mark grinned happily as he watched them for a while.
“Here you go, babe. I got you the biggest bowl.”
Arit brought a bowl of rice out and handed it to Mark, and Mark turned to see her smiling at him while holding a spoon with her other hand. Mark grinned as he grabbed the bowl and thanked Arit before joining his family to eat.

“Is the Dimensional Gate ready?”
A regal man wearing powerful black armor stood at the front of a large airship while talking to someone behind him. The person he was talking to was a shorter man with a mousy personality who was moving about a large panel quickly.
The mousy man pressed a lot of buttons on the panel and recalibrated a few of them before he spoke up with reverence.
“Yes, my lord. It is ready.”
The regal man nodded and then he turned to show that he was wearing a black mask that prevented anyone from seeing his face. He spoke up with authority.
“Open the gates and send in the army.”
“Yes, my lord!”
The Dimensional Gate was a transportation artifact that allowed creatures to travel the vast expanse of space instantaneously. It worked the same way that the Dimensional Space of the gods worked, but those who did not possess Divine Mana had to use the Dimensional Gate to travel to adjacent planets.
The Dimensional Gate opened a wide golden gate in front of the ship, and the regal man watched as hundreds of his loyal servants flew through the gate and into the adjacent world. The regal man followed after his servants only a few seconds later as he floated slowly through the gate and arrived on the world that had been designated as [Earth].
…
Planet Designation: Earth
Rank: SSS Rank
Designated Protector: Mark Vanitas
Designated Rank: God Rank I
…
The regal man felt his eyes widen once he saw what the Designated Rank for the protector of this world was! This was a god’s world!?
DOON!
The regal man suddenly felt a massive amount of pressure pressing down on him from a distance, and he turned around to stare at a lone man standing on top of a tall building in the distance. The man had no weapons and he was wearing all black with his hands resting in his pockets calmly.
From the distance, Mark grinned up at the invaders.
“Well, are we going to do this or not?”
“ROARRRRR!!”
The monsters that had followed the regal man through the Dimensional Gate all roared in agitation as they charged straight for Mark, and Mark just raised his hand with two fingers pointed outwards like a gun and unleashed his Divine Mana.
The world exploded in Golden light!
BOOOOM!!
…
The regal man didn’t know what had happened.
At one moment, he was heading to Earth for another conquest, and at the next, he was on the floor lying among the battered bodies of his army.
His mask had cracked down one side to reveal blue skin and deep red eyes, and as a shadow fell upon him, he turned his head to the side to see Mark Vanitas standing there with the same bored expression on his face.
Mark looked down at him and spoke with finality.
“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it one more time. You invaders should choose your battles very carefully from now on. I’ve killed hundreds of you already, and a few more deaths are no stain on my conscience.
“I am Mark Vanitas, and Earth is under my protection.”
