Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 849
Chapter 849: The Epilogue [6] [End]
The concept of Celestial Blessing was something that hadn’t been made known to many of the worlds out there in the vast Dimensional Stream.
Normally, the blessings of a god only came to worlds that were on the brink of their ascendance.
There were worlds out there that had no need for the blessing of a god. They had already advanced to the point where divine power would be no different from the technology they possessed.
And there were also worlds that were not worthy of receiving a god’s blessing.
They were so archaic and undeveloped that divine intervention would bring more destruction than progress.
That is why the gods had to carefully consider their actions before they even attempted to bestow their blessings upon any world in their Dimensional Stream.
A god’s Dimensional Stream was their greatest treasure—the only thing they could truly boast about to other gods.
Even so-called “evil” gods like Loki and Thanatos still took great pride in their Dimensional Streams and how far they had progressed under their influence. It was one of the only ways a god could claim to be greater than another god.
But then, there were some Dimensional Streams that had never been touched by a god in all the time they had existed.
These Dimensional Streams were on the brink of ascendance, but they lacked a being with Divine Mana to help them through the hurdle.
In situations like these, the gods would come together and deliberate on what should be done.
Most times, the gods would decide that it was better to give the creatures of that world a chance to ascend into godhood by spreading their power across the entire planet. This meant that every single creature in that world would have a chance to rise into divinity, and only their own will and skill would determine who would become a god.
But then, this raised the issue of time.
Although it was reasonable to spread their blessings to the masses and wait for a victor to emerge, the gods knew that the world itself didn’t have time.
If they waited too long, the world would be exposed to the other worlds once it joined the Dimensional Stream, and it would be destroyed before it had a god to protect it.
Therefore, the gods came up with another solution.
They decided to grant their blessing only to the most dominant race on the planet.
They would choose whichever race had the most intelligence and strength—whichever had the highest chance of ascending into godhood.
By doing this, they would cut down the time it would take for that world to nurture a god, and by the time the world was introduced into the Dimensional Stream, it would already have someone to protect it.
This was what was supposed to happen with Earth.
The humans had been chosen by the gods as the dominant race, and the gods were about to grant their blessings to them. If not for Loki stepping in, then everything would have worked out just fine for the humans.
But that doesn’t mean that the creatures of other worlds were simply given power without struggle.
It is said that adversity breeds excellence, and it is only in the midst of great challenges that the strong can be nurtured.
So the gods ensured that their blessings were only given to those who would have to overcome immense trials and suffering in order to walk the path to godhood.
They ensured that before a being could claim the gift of godhood, they would first defeat the limitations of their own mortality.
That was the only way to nurture a True God.

The world was burning.
As far as the eye could see, everything was on fire.
The Gvilori ran for their lives in every direction, but they couldn’t get far before the giant monsters rained down more fire upon them!
The monsters crushed buildings, sending them crashing to the ground before tearing apart any Gvilori they could get their hands on.
From beneath one of the collapsing structures, a young Gvilori struggled to get to his feet. The child’s red skin had been burned in multiple places, and his leg had a large injury on the side that prevented him from walking properly.
Behind the Gvilori child, many others—his schoolmates—were dead inside a large school bus. He was the only survivor.
Sparks glittered from the side, making the Gvilori child turn around and his eyes widened in shock when he saw the fuel pouring from the bus being lit on fire. The bus was about to explode.
He immediately tried to limp away from the scene, desperate to avoid the blast.
The Gvilori child hobbled forward, hoping none of the monsters would notice him.
They had come from nowhere. One moment, things were peaceful, and the next, these creatures were destroying everything!
BOOOOM!
The school bus finally exploded behind him, and the shockwave sent him sprawling across the ground!
The Gvilori child coughed in pain, his entire body trembling as he desperately tried to push himself back up. He couldn’t die here. He couldn’t give up like this! If he stopped moving, he would be killed.
“Hey, hey, you look like shit.”
The Gvilori child heard a voice behind him, and he turned around in shock.
Floating in the air, with his hands tucked casually into his pockets, was a man dressed in black.
The man wore a grin that sent a shiver down the child’s spine, and the aura surrounding him practically screamed power.
Staring up at the man, the Gvilori child couldn’t help but think he was looking at something no mortal should have the right to see.
The monsters were destroying everything around him, yet this man… he didn’t seem concerned at all.
“W-Who are you?”
The child spoke in awe, his voice shaking as he gazed up at the radiant figure.
The man tilted his head and hummed thoughtfully before a smirk spread across his face.
“Who am I?” he spoke in amusement before he answered the question.
“I am Vanitas. The God of War and Conquest, and the protector of my Dimension…”
The grin on the man’s face twisted into something sinister and the Gvilori child felt a shiver run down his spine as the man spoke:
“Do you wanna play a game?”
