Chapter 294: Chapter 293- Hero vs Villain(1)
Ethan was not in control of his body when he launched toward Richard. He could see what he was doing, but despite resisting his action, he couldn’t stop himself from attacking Richard.
“RICHARD!” Bellarine cried as she saw the orb of light exploding before Richard’s face and the boy being sent staggering back.
Zulcriz didn’t turn to look at Richard. His eyes affixed on the lady before him.
Atheris was not moving an inch from her spot, and the only change she brought to this war was to enforce her faith in Ethan and make him target Richard.
Richard’s face was covered with deep gashes, blood pouring from several corners.
Richard switched to his Elemental state, before launching toward Ethan.
The two figures disappeared in the wind before a strong explosion occurred in mid-air, sending shockwaves throughout the battlefield.
The explosion rocked the battlefield, forcing even the strongest fighters to brace themselves. Ethan and Richard reappeared in a blur of motion, their fists clashing mid-air, sending out deafening shockwaves.
Richard struck first—a blazing punch crackling with raw energy. Ethan barely twisted away before countering with a devastating kick, his foot slicing through the air like a thunderclap. The impact sent Richard hurtling backward, but he flipped midair, righting himself before slamming into the ground.
Ethan was already on him. He flashed forward, a blur of golden light, and drove his fist toward Richard’s skull. Richard ducked, wind surging around him, and retaliated with a blade of pure force. Ethan blocked with his forearm, the impact shattering the air, sending jagged cracks of energy rippling outward.
Then they vanished again, moving too fast for normal eyes to follow.
High above the battlefield, they clashed again, their blows shaking the sky. Richard’s hands ignited with searing violet fire, and he swung both arms in a sweeping arc. A fiery storm erupted, swallowing Ethan whole.
But Ethan burst through the inferno, untouched. His eyes glowed with an eerie, unnatural light—the force of Atheris’ will still controlling him. His hand shot out, gripping Richard’s throat.
For a moment, Richard choked, struggling against the impossible strength crushing his windpipe. Then his body flickered—he became wind itself, slipping free from Ethan’s grasp. Reappearing behind Ethan, he struck with both palms, sending a pulse of force that cracked the sky.
Ethan tumbled downward, smashing into the battlefield with enough force to shatter stone. Dust and debris shot into the air.
Richard dived after him, but Ethan erupted from the crater, his speed blinding. His fist connected with Richard’s ribs—a brutal strike that sent Richard soaring across the battlefield.
Bellarine screamed.
Richard barely managed to halt his momentum, flipping midair before landing hard, his boots skidding across the ground. Blood dripped from his lips. His body ached, his vision blurred for a moment—but he clenched his fists and forced himself to stand.
Ethan was coming again, faster, stronger.
Richard’s eyes turned cold as he summoned Ruyi Bang. Violet thunder clad around the weapon before he launched the lightning toward Ethan.
Ethan had to stop mid-air, not expecting the lightning to be this fast.
*Crackle*
With a single thought, he extended the staff, launching it like a bolt of lightning. Ethan barely twisted midair, dodging by an inch as the massive rod shot past him, splitting the clouds.
But Richard wasn’t aiming to hit.
With a flick of his wrist, Ruyi Bang shrank in an instant, returning to his hands just as he dashed forward. The moment Ethan landed, Richard was already there, swinging the staff with blinding speed.
CLANG!
Ethan barely blocked with his forearm, but the force sent him skidding backward, his feet carving trenches into the battlefield.
Richard spun the staff, striking again—low, high, then twisting into a downward slam. Each hit was lightning-fast, the staff a blur of violet energy.
Ethan deflected the first two, but the third?
CRACK!

The impact slammed into his shoulder, a shockwave blasting outward. Ethan gritted his teeth, stumbling back, golden energy flickering wildly around him. His hands trembled, his muscles locking up.
Ethan huffed before he raised his hand and summoned his holy sword.
Ethan’s fingers curled around the hilt of his holy sword, and the battlefield trembled in response. The weapon was unlike any other—forged from the fang of Atheris’ ancient familiar, a beast of divine origin. Its silver-white blade shimmered unnaturally, its edges lined with faint golden runes that pulsed like a beating heart.
The sword’s core was alive with energy, a swirling mass of pure radiance and destructive power. The moment Ethan raised it, the very air around it warped and twisted, as if reality itself struggled to contain its presence. A faint, melodic hum echoed from the blade, a whisper of something both holy and terrifying.
Richard narrowed his eyes.
“That… looks dangerous.”
But there was no time for hesitation.
Ethan vanished, moving at speeds that even Richard struggled to track. The next moment, a blinding arc of light tore through the air, aimed straight at Richard’s head.
Richard ducked just in time, but the force from the sword made him stumble—enough for Ethan to launch a frontal kick into his abdomen and throw him off balance.
“Agh!” Richard groaned, feeling the divine essence from Ethan’s body weakening his Black Heart.
On the ground, Bella saw that her brother might receive severe damage that’s why she prepared to attack Ethan—just as a diversion.
When suddenly, “No, you don’t!”
A projectile came flying in her way before Bella jumped just the nick of time, and a massive explosion occurred behind her.
*BOOOOOOOM*
Dust and debris flew as the projectile left a deep hole at the place it landed.
Bella glared at the girl who was the commander of the other side.
Jessica grinned as she said, “Let the boys fight their battle. You can focus on me in the meantime.”
Bella clicked her tongue…so they don’t want anyone to come in their battle? Because they think Ethan can win if no one interferes?
“What a sore loser you are to think that Ethan can win this.” Bella mocked and following her words,
**CRACK**
A figure was framed in the ground, a massive crater expanding upon the impact.
Jessica looked in the air and saw Richard standing there with a pair of gauntlets covering his hands.
Then that means…the one who got plummeted…
“Tch.” Jessica seemed annoyed as she coated her body with divine essence.
Bella prepared herself for the battle and so did the other generals on either side.
None of the two sides were going to hold back anymore. It’s now or never!
