Chapter 835: The Way to Kill the Mutant
Nathan glanced at Fenrir, who had been surrounded by the aliens. If he waited for a bit longer, the aliens would swarm him. His condition after that attack couldn’t be easily healed by Anubis. Hence, he recalled Fenrir and re-summoned him back near him.

“!!!” Fenrir looked like he wanted to say something but chose to hold it because he shouldn’t bother Nathan in the already high-tension situation.

Nathan asked, “What do you think about that warrior class mutant? Is it possible to deal with it?”

Fenrir was surprised by the question. The normal thing for Fenrir to say was ‘Of course,’ but Nathan’s expression felt like he was saying he wanted an honest opinion without any pride mixed in it.

The words stuck in his throat before he explained, “It’s going to be hard. The mutant is extremely strong. If we work together, we will be able to take it down. Unfortunately, we have to handle other aliens as well.

“That’s why our chance to win is less than ten percent.” Fenrir shook his head.

Nathan’s expression darkened. “In that case, we’ll try that first.”

With Selena slowing them down with some ranged attacks, the group finally reached the bottom of the hill.

Nathan climbed the hill without hesitation while observing the alien’s reaction. He wanted to know whether the aliens were going to split up to surround him or attack together.

“They are…” Flora gasped. “They’re splitting up. Are they trying to surround us on the hill so that we don’t have any way to escape?”

“!!!” Nathan couldn’t help but smile. “We’ll adjust the pair one more time. Noelle and Selena are to take down the aliens coming from the south and north. Flora, Sera, and Alavenya will focus your attack on the east side.”

“What?” Selena noticed what this order meant. “Nathan. Are you going to fight that mutant by yourself? This is reckless.”

“That’s right. At least, I will be your pair like earlier.”

Nathan shook his head. “Right now, the four warrior class aliens have scattered. Since I only have to worry about the mutant, I can manage somehow. The problem is that the other warrior class aliens will definitely mess us up. Hence, we have to eliminate them first.”

That was right. This adjustment was not for Nathan fighting the mutant by himself. It was for others to take down the warrior class aliens.

Nathan was basically telling them that they had to take down those warrior class aliens no matter what it took.

He even sent Selena and Noelle alone, believing in their ability. Still, even if they failed, Nathan concentrated everything on the last group, which consisted of Sera, Alavenya, and Flora. That was why they should feel ashamed if they failed to take down at least one warrior class alien.

“If you understand, then let’s begin our plan. We’ll split up right after reaching the peak, but…” Nathan paused for a moment, looking at their current height. He waited for twenty seconds before saying, “Noelle. Cut all these trees down.”

Noelle halted her step and turned around. She grabbed her sword handle tight before drawing her sword, releasing all the energy accumulated within the scabbard. All the trees within a fifty-meter (164-foot) radius were cut down and started to fall down.

Some didn’t roll down because of the branches, but a lot even dragged those that stopped down.

“Split up!” Nathan shouted.

The girls immediately headed toward their respective destinations.

Nathan then placed his hand on the ground and released his absolute ice, covering a huge portion of this side of the hill. More importantly, because it was covered in ice, the trees started to slide down. Even the aliens would have a hard time climbing this hill.

“!!!” The mutant had already known how troublesome Nathan was. He was the first one to charge, followed by the flying aliens.

The mutant leaped into the air and used all that momentum to punch the ground, shattering the thick layer of ice that covered the ground.

Nathan simply smiled. “Of course, that ice is not even to make them slip.”

The real plan was revealed when the mutant hit the ground. Because of the tremendous force, the trees ended up getting launched into the air.

“!!!” The mutant could sense how those trees went past him and fell on top of the lower-level aliens, causing them to fall or even die after rolling down the hill. There was no telling how many aliens went down after that unexpected plan.

Angered, the mutant continued onward.

“Fenrir. Take the front. Nidhogg, Peng. I want you to focus on the flying aliens. Jinwu, with me. Anubis, aliens.”

“Got it.” All of them acknowledged Nathan’s order.

Fenrir immediately pounced on the mutant, which the latter managed to stop despite Fenrir having the high ground.

“Fall!” Fenrir shouted while pushing with everything he had, but to no avail. Still, he managed to lock the mutant.

Jinwu flew up and activated his domain while Nathan approached the mutant from the side.

Noticing Nathan’s movement, the mutant sent forth his tentacles, impaling Nathan to the ground, or that was what was supposed to happen, considering Nathan didn’t evade it.

However, what actually happened was Nathan avoiding it by a hairbreadth.

“You are fast, but this is what I wanted.” Nathan smiled, placing his hand on the tentacle that was stuck on the ground. “Freeze!”

The tentacle was soon covered in a layer of ice that continued spreading toward the main body.

But the mutant didn’t seem to do anything to protect himself, as though he wasn’t scared by the absolute ice. Hence, Nathan ordered Jinwu through telepathy.

Jinwu stretched his wings to the maximum and gathered all the sunlight in his mouth, which made the world darken for a second. He then released all that sunlight to the ground in the beam form.

The beam first hit the ground and moved as Jinwu tilted his beak. The beam passed the frozen tentacles, melting the ice and the tentacle inside and ultimately severing the tentacle.

“Reaaaa!” The mutant screamed in pain.

For the first time in this entire battle, they finally found a way to kill this mutant.
