Chapter 898: Nathan’s Real Target
“I will hold them back!”

“!!!” They couldn’t help but widen their eyes. That was right. It must be because they had seen Mae in her human form most of the time that they forgot her true form. She was a fox.

What mattered the most was the fact that they were still flying on top of Peng. At any moment, Peng could speed up and the familiars would then disappear once the familiar and their summoner had a certain distance.

That was the basic strategy that most summoners would do when escaping.

The flying aliens swarmed them from all directions, but each of them was intercepted.

Still, it would be troublesome if they continued at this pace. There were still warrior class aliens and one mutant on top of that. If they attacked at the same time, there was no way to stop them.

Nathan was staring at the centipede with a smile on his face. If not for him, the battlefield would have become even more chaotic.

As if getting frustrated, the centipede finally chose another type of attack.

It began with the flying mutant taking off to the sky.

“Nathan. The mutant is coming!” Sera reported.

Nathan changed the target for his bullet. The bullet in the right hand flew toward the incoming objects, while the bullet in the left hand chased after the mutant.

As if noticing the sudden change, the mutant increased his altitude as if he wanted to bring these bullets away.

“!!!” Nathan realized that the mutant was nothing but bait. The true aim of the centipede was to lower the number of bullets so that it could launch an all-out attack against Nathan.

Or that was what Nathan thought, but it appeared that the centipede was actually one step ahead of Nathan.

Instead of throwing all those objects to him, the centipede sent forth his telekinesis.

“Master. Not good!” Peng was the first one to notice.

The air before them got distorted.

“!!!” Nathan widened his eyes in surprise, asking inwardly, ‘The air… Did this guy actually use telekinesis to move the air… an intangible object?’

The air pressure was gathering in the middle. It had so much force that it looked like the air was bending. It would look like an invisible attack if they didn’t pay attention.

Sera actually noticed the incoming attack and stepped forth. She reactivated the barrier of her artifact, but Nathan noticed something was wrong. If he wanted to release such an attack, he would have just done it without using the mutant as bait. So, why would the alien do such a thing?

After fighting the previous mutant, he knew that an alien of this level was capable of thinking better than an average human. Yet, why would such an alien choose such a foolish thing?

With the assumption that the alien was smart, everything began to make sense.

Nathan retracted his bullets, letting the bullets explode midway after not receiving any more energy from Nathan to stabilize their unstable flow.

After that, he formed a barrier himself but behind Sera’s. It was also a much thinner barrier compared to hers.

On the other hand, Peng was manifesting his wind just to dispel the incoming pressure.

Still, the first one that got hit was Sera’s barrier.

*Bam!*

It produced a massive shock wave that shattered Sera’s barrier in almost an instant. However, Peng’s wind soon carried the pressure away and dispersed them into the surrounding area.

Sadly, the attack was much more powerful than the wind he could currently manifest. As a result, the pressure soon reached Nathan’s barrier.

Because Nathan’s barrier was smaller and thinner, it couldn’t even last a second against its remaining energy.

It broke apart and allowed the wind pressure to hit Peng’s body.

Peng’s body tilted sideways.

“Kh…” Peng gritted his teeth. He used his wind to protect the ones on his back so that they wouldn’t fall over.

Little did Peng know, he shouldn’t have used his wind to help the people. After all, the real attack of the elite class alien was none other than the flying alien itself.

That was right. In that instant, the flying alien dove from the sky, popping off the cloud.

“!!!” Selena and Count Einren were dumbfounded. Both of them thought the same thing. If the flying alien hit Peng, the latter would be grounded, and the elite class alien would deal the finishing blow.

That was why they couldn’t allow the flying alien to continue. They launched themselves toward the flying alien’s path, but it was too late.

Selena panicked because it would cause a lot of problems for them, while Count Einren was worried about Flora.

Unbeknownst to them, even though they were in such a predicament, one person was actually smiling.

“Found you…” Nathan muttered. These two words were not for the flying alien. Instead, it was for Count Einren.

“!!!” The flying alien suddenly sensed a threat coming from Nathan. He saw Nathan waving his hand from the left side. In that instant, 64 bullets revealed themselves from his back and looped around him before ultimately going straight to the alien.

The flying alien couldn’t avoid it because Nathan had spread it so much that there was no choice but to take it. Fortunately for the alien, it didn’t seem to be strong enough to kill him.

Hence, the flying alien put both arms in front, using the wings to cover its entire body.

*Boom!*

The explosion launched the alien away. But this wasn’t an unexpected attack. Everything had been arranged in Nathan’s mind.

The reason Nathan only summoned a small shield was because he only poured the ena from his right hand instead of both hands. Instead, he used his left hand to summon an explosive bullet on his back.

The moment the flying alien came toward him, he launched it at Count Einren. That was right. This was Nathan’s goal.

“!!!” Count Einren was dumbstruck as the alien ended up crashing into him. Both of them fell together and hurriedly separated themselves. In the end, Count Einren was an arcane level summoner, while his opponent was a warrior class mutant. If both of them didn’t fight each other, he didn’t know who would.

In other words, Nathan’s plan this whole time was to take the eyes off him, which was Count Einren, and allow himself to use his full power.
