Chapter 623: Monarch’s Dominion and Empty Cocoon
The sky split open with a thunderous boom.

Tyrant’s arrival on the battlefield was not just loud—it was terrifying. Even the corrupted dragons paused at his presence, instinctively backing away as his aura surged like a black tide.

He stood at the center of the battlefield, his dark armor pulsing with veins of red energy. Each step he took crushed stone beneath his feet, and each breath he exhaled thickened the already-corrupted air.

“You brats have gotten cocky,” he said, his voice low and distorted, like a dozen voices speaking at once.

Drake narrowed his eyes. “Don’t let him talk. We strike now.”

Valkor wasted no time. Flames exploded from his feet as he launched toward Tyrant, his fists wreathed in deep purple fire.

Tyrant barely moved.

The two clashed.

BOOM!

Valkor’s punch met Tyrant’s claw. The shockwave was so fierce it cracked the ground around them. Valkor was sent skidding back, but he landed on his feet.

“Tch. Tougher than I thought,” he muttered.

Elise followed next, appearing midair as she hurled her flaming spear downward.

Tyrant raised his arm.

CLANG!

The spear bounced off.

She landed and clicked her tongue. “I was hoping that would crack him.”

Tyrant exhaled once, then stepped forward.

A pulse of dark energy burst out in a ring.

Everyone was thrown back.

Only Drake remained standing, frost wings flared and eyes cold.

“You’re not unstoppable,” he muttered. “We’ve killed worse.”

Tyrant tilted his head. “Have you now?”

Then he moved.

Not ran. Not dashed.

He appeared in front of Drake.

Drake barely had time to summon a frost barrier.

It shattered instantly.

CRACK!

Drake flew across the field, smashing into a boulder.

But Tyrant wasn’t done. He turned, targeting Valkor.

“Flame boy. Let’s see what you’re made of.”

Valkor gritted his teeth. “Bring it!”

Tyrant charged, the ground rupturing beneath him.

Flames exploded as Valkor met him head-on, but Tyrant’s strength was overwhelming.

Each of Valkor’s strikes was powerful, but Tyrant was relentless. He blocked, countered, and punished every movement.

Within seconds, Valkor was on the defensive.

“Need help?” Raziel reappeared, sparks dancing across his body. He fired a lightning bolt that curved through the air toward Tyrant.

Tyrant caught it.

“What?” Raziel blinked.

Tyrant crushed the lightning in his hand and hurled the energy back.

It struck Raziel in the chest, sending him tumbling.

The others tried to regroup, but Tyrant gave no room.

Celestis summoned a wall of water that quickly took the shape of a thousand solid water spears capable of piercing metal.

The rest of the water dragons followed.

But it wasn’t enough.

Tyrant roared, and his aura exploded.

BOOOM!

Waves of corrupted energy shattered their attacks midair.

“I’m done playing.”

Tyrant raised both hands. From the sky, black spears of corruption descended like meteors, and everyone scattered.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions rocked the battlefield.

The Alpha Team was being pushed to their limit. Even with their elemental upgrades and support from the Omega Team, they were being overwhelmed.

—

Inside the castle, after a grueling battle, Nox had slain all the Scourge dragons in his path.

As he drew closer to the area where the powerful presence was being emitted, he encountered more Scourge Commanders.

It was as if they were protecting something with their lives, which made Nox even more certain that the Scourge Alpha was in this direction.

Activating several destructive skills at once, he obliterated all of them in a couple of minutes as he arrived at the giant door—the place where the aura was at its strongest.

Ding!

[Champions Defeated: 20/20]

[Commanders Defeated: 10/10]

[You have received +20,000 Shop Points]

A small smile appeared on Nox’s face when he saw the reward.

But he ignored the screen for now. His sole focus was on the door—or rather, what lay behind it.

Just to be on the safe side, he waited a little for his mana to regenerate before proceeding to push it open.

However, before he could, he sensed that his pets were in trouble through their connection. Without hesitation, he activated—

Monarch’s Dominion!

—

Back on the battlefield—

Suddenly, a ripple tore through the sky.

Everyone felt it.

Even Tyrant paused mid-charge, his claw inches from Elise’s neck.

The dark clouds above parted as if something divine had descended. A pulse of golden-red energy washed across the entire battlefield. It hit both the Alpha and Omega teams like a warm breeze.

“W-What was that just now?” Celestis gasped, blinking rapidly.

Drake’s eyes widened as he felt it too.

So did Valkor.

“My body… it feels lighter.”

“Wait—” Elise’s eyes shimmered with flame. “Did our power just—?”

Ding!

> [Monarch’s Dominion Activated: All beasts under your command will fight as if they are two ranks higher for the next 1 minute.]

Everyone saw the message. They didn’t need any explanation. This was the handiwork of none other than their master—the one who had granted them this power in the first place.

“Hahahahahahaha!” Valkor laughed loudly, then—

BOOM!

He vanished.

He reappeared above Tyrant and slammed his purple flame-encased fist down with a roar. The punch hit like a meteor, sending Tyrant crashing into the ground. The earth caved under the force, a crater spreading out in a wide circle.

“What—?” Tyrant blinked, dazed for the first time.

Before he could react, Elise appeared mid-air, her spear blazing like a miniature sun.

“EAT THIS!”

She hurled it with every ounce of strength. The weapon screamed through the air and struck Tyrant dead center.

BOOOOOOM!

A pillar of fire erupted, engulfing the crater. The corrupted dragons nearby screeched and began retreating instinctively.

Drake wasn’t idle either. He shot forward, wings spread wide. His ice domain activated automatically under the boost, summoning dozens of massive spears that spun and launched all at once.

“Glacial Judgment!”

CRACK!

Each spear found its mark.

One slammed into Tyrant’s shoulder, another pierced his leg, the third struck his chest.

The battlefield shifted.

The ones who had been barely holding on were now the aggressors.

“HAH!” Raziel appeared again, bolts of lightning coiling around him like a serpent. “You like lightning? I got your lightning right here!”

He raised his palm.

THUNDER STRIKE.

A blinding bolt descended from the sky and slammed into Tyrant’s chest.

The force sent him tumbling backward, limbs scorched and smoking.

Tyrant growled, finally forcing himself back up. His armor was cracked, parts of his dark aura flickering.

“W-What is this?” he hissed. “Why are you stronger all of a sudden?!”

No one answered him.

In their minds, they all felt it.

He wasn’t worthy of knowing.

I’m… the Beast Monarch.

Even when absent, his influence dominated the battlefield.

—

After seeing that his pets had the advantage once more, Nox advanced further. He pushed the door open and found himself in a throne room.

Step! Step!

His footsteps echoed across the vast chamber. The place was well-maintained—pristine, even.

Nox’s eyes scanned the surroundings before settling on the throne, where a large black cocoon sat atop it.

However, there was a gaping hole in the middle of the cocoon.

A frown appeared on his face. “Something is meant to be inside there, right?”
