System's POV - Chapter 840
Chapter 840: I Greet The Holy Saintess
“Ugh… my head.” Erica hissed as she held her head with both hands.
“That’s what you get for drinking a lot,” Thirteen said before giving her a glass of water to drink. “You too, Sherry. I understand why you drank a lot last night, but still, you shouldn’t have gotten carried away.”
The teenage boy also gave the young lady a glass of water because just like Erica, she was also suffering from the aftermath of their drinking party.
“It hurts, Zion,” Sherry said weakly.
With no other alternative, the teenage boy lightly massaged her head to make her feel a bit better.
“We’re just half an hour away from the temple,” Thirteen stated. “Hold on for a little while longer. When we get there, Shana will take care of the two of you.”
“Ugh…”
“Un…”
After letting the two drunkards lie down for a bit, Thirteen went out of his cottage to check on Derek, who drank the most out of them.
Surprisingly, the teenage boy was already up, even drinking coffee as if he wasn’t suffering from a hangover.
“Looks like your alcohol tolerance is very high,” Thirteen commented as he looked at the young man, who looked perfectly fine.
“That’s because Master Camazotz is also a heavy drinker,” Derek replied. “He forced me to fight while drunk many times, so I developed a high tolerance for it.”
“Drunken Blade huh?” Thirteen rubbed his chin. “Not bad. At least you won’t get caught off guard even when you are intoxicated.”
“Exactly.” Derek nodded. “Master, are we almost there? I can’t wait to see Shana and Diana.”
“Yeah, we’re almost there,” Thirteen replied. “Have you already eaten breakfast?”
“It’s too early for me to have breakfast,” Derek answered. “I’ll just eat after an hour or two.”
“Okay, I’ll just check on Mildred then,” Thirteen said before going to the third cottage, where the Archer was sleeping.
The teenage boy made sure to knock on the door first and called out to see if Mildred was already awake.
“Mildred. It’s me, Zion.” Zion knocked. “Are you already awake?”
“Coming!” Mildred replied on the opposite side of the door.
A moment later, the door opened, and Thirteen saw the young lady still wearing her nightgown.
However, from the looks of it, she had already been up for a while.
“Do you also have high alcohol tolerance?” Thirteen asked in curiosity.
“No,” Mildred answered. “But I know a trick to deal with hangovers. I learned it from Mistress Kamrusepa.”
After hearing Derek’s and Mildred’s statement about the two Majins who trained them, Thirteen could tell that they were truly well taken care of during the past two years they were together with the latter.
“We’ll arrive at the temple soon,” Thirteen stated. “Erica and Sherry are suffering from hangovers, so they can’t go and meet Shana. Do you want to come with me to pick her up?”
“Understood.” Mildred nodded. “I’ll be dressed in ten minutes.”
“Okay. I’ll wait for you outside,” Thirteen replied.
After bidding goodbye to Mildred, Thirteen returned to his cottage to check up on Erica and Sherry, who were regretting their decision to drink like there was no tomorrow.
The reason why Thirteen didn’t drink was due to the fact that he would be meeting with Shana again after two years.

He had a feeling that if the Saintess saw him drunk during their reunion, she might give him an earful, so he decided to play safe.
A few minutes later, Derek and Mildred were ready to go.
Since he didn’t want Rocky to come too close to the Temple, he decided to ask him to drop them off a mile away from their destination.
They already had a carriage prepared, as well as horses that would pull it, so they no longer needed to bring any monsters to accompany them.
“I’ll take the reins, Master.” Derek volunteered to be the coachman and took the reins of the horse from Thirteen’s hands.
“Fine.” Thirteen then opened the door of the carriage and allowed Mildred to enter first.
When Derek was certain that both passengers were safely inside the carriage, he urged the horses to move forward.
They traveled at a decent pace and arrived at their destination in fifteen minutes.
“Halt. Who goes there?” shouted the Guards guarding the Temple Gates.
“We came here to pick up Saintess Shana,” Derek replied. “We’re her companions.”
“You’re her companions?” The Guard appraised Derek with a critical gaze before glancing at the other guard beside him. “Is the Saintess expecting guests?”
“I’ll go and ask,” the other Guard replied and entered the temple through the side gate meant for them.
A couple of minutes passed in silence, and Derek was starting to wonder if the guards really went to announce their arrival to Shana, whom they had come a long way to pick up.
Finally, after an hour of waiting, the Gates of the Temple opened wide.
A four-meter-tall White Elephant walked past the gate, and mounted on top of it was a palanquin.
There, two ladies wearing veils could be seen, exuding a sense of holiness and mystery, which made Derek sit properly on the coachman’s seat.
Behind the Elephant, a dozen battle maidens moved in formation, escorting the sacred beast of the temple to meet the guests that had come for them.
At that moment, the door of the carriage opened, and Thirteen made an appearance.
The moment he stood in front of Raja, the White-Furred Elephant trumpeted in his direction as if telling him to scram.
Thirteen ignored the White Elephant, who had grown exponentially in the span of only two years.
Back then, Raja was only a Rank 3 Monster. But now, he was a Rank 6 Sovereign.
“I greet the Holy Saintess,” Thirteen said respectfully before bowing toward the two veiled ladies inside the Palanquin. “I, Zion Leventis, have come to escort you back to Pangea.”
As soon as he announced his name, the battle maidens escorting the White Elephant immediately encircled him.
“We will test you if you are worthy enough to escort the Saintess on her journey,” the Captain of the Battle Maidens stated. “Draw your weapon and fight.”
“I’m sorry, but none of you here are qualified to fight me,” Thirteen replied. “But if you insist, I will let the coachman of our carriage fight in my stead.”
“What did you say?!” the Captain of the Battle Maidens glared at the teenage boy, who didn’t even bother to look in her direction.
“Derek, knock them all out,” Thirteen replied. “I’ll give you two minutes.”
“Roger!” Derek, who didn’t expect that he would be able to show off his skills to Shana and Diana, hurriedly jumped off from the carriage and drew his blade. “I will be your opponent!”
The swordsman didn’t even wait for the Battle Maidens’ reply before he turned into a blur.
A moment later, one of the Battle Maidens closest to Zion suddenly collapsed unconscious on the ground.
A few seconds more, and two additional Battle Maidens collapsed, making their Captain finally recognize the Swordsman’s strength.
“Cripple him!” the Captain shouted.
“Cripple me?” Derek chuckled. “I’d like to see you try.”
With a swing of his blade, a flash of light hit the Battle Maiden’s eyes, blinding them temporarily.
Derek’s sword which was as shiny as a mirror, reflected the sunlight perfectly, using its rays to disturb his opponents’ formation.
‘Camazotz taught him well,’ Thirteen mused.
It wasn’t beneath the Death Bat to use petty tricks to take advantage of his opponents and neutralize them in the shortest time possible.
Just like Thirteen had ordered, it only took less than two minutes to knock the Battle Maidens to the ground, making the guards glare in Derek’s direction.
But when the guards were about to attack the Swordsman, a calm and soothing voice reached their ears.
“Stand down,” Shana ordered. “Thank you for everything. I will now go back to my world and spread the teaching of Zaphiel to mankind.”
The Guards all bowed to honor the Saintess’ words and hurriedly assisted the fallen warriors on the ground, carrying them to the side.
Raja trumpeted a second time and walked toward Thirteen, with the intention of swatting him with his trunk.
However, before the White Elephant could even attack, Thirteen spoke some words, effectively stopping it in its tracks.
“Stacy, Raja is misbehaving!”
The White Elephant subconsciously took a step back and warily looked around its surroundings.
The trauma it received from the spray of the Blaze Skunk, Stacy, had been engraved deeply inside his heart and mind.
Even though Raja was already a Rank 6 Sovereign, his fear of the Blaze Skunk still remained.
“Zion, stop bullying Raja,” Shana’s calm voice reached the teenage boy’s ears, so he no longer continued to tease the White Elephant, who had taken a defensive stance.
“Let’s go, Your Holiness.” Thirteen bowed respectfully. “It’s time to go home”
“Okay.” Shana, whose face was still covered by a veil, nodded.
Thirteen acted respectfully not because he was in the presence of the Guards and Battlemaidens.
He acted the way he did because he could sense two powerful gazes coming from within the temple.
These gazes had locked onto his body, and if he acted inappropriately, things could end badly for him.
‘A Celestial and an Archon,’ Thirteen thought. ‘As expected, the Temple of Zaphiel is not that simple.’
Making sure that whatever he was thinking didn’t show in his expression, Thirteen returned to the carriage and asked Derek to lead the way away from the Gates of the Temple.
Raja reluctantly followed behind them due to Shana’s urging.
Only when he felt that the two gazes locked onto his body had disappeared did Thirteen summon Rocky.
The moment he appeared, the Hellfire Bal-Boa didn’t hesitate to take everyone inside his mobile Fortress before hurriedly digging into the ground, away from the prying eyes of powerful beings who could easily end his life.
