Chapter 101: Ace lost his cool.
Ace’s steps halted. His sharp gaze locked onto Hua Lesy, who stood trembling before him.
“What do you mean?” His voice was chilled steel, each word carrying an unspoken weight.
Hua Lesy swallowed hard, his voice barely above a whisper. Scared. Hesitant.
“Your disciples… they’re in the inn.”
His lungs seized. His thoughts blanked. A formation. In the middle of the city. And his disciples were inside it.
He had already heard about it—rumors spreading like wildfire. A battle unfolding inside an inn.
A conflict between cultivators wasn’t uncommon. It was just another day in a world where the strong devoured the weak.
But his disciples?
“No.”
The word pounded inside his skull, louder than any roar of battle.
What the hell were they doing inside that inn!
Not them. Not the only solace he had just found after coming in this world.
He didn’t hesitate as he gets his allss up and began to move.
The inn loomed ahead, surrounded by curious cultivators and commoners.
“What kind of formation is this?”
“I’ve never seen anything like it!”
“Who could have set this up in the middle of the city?”
They crowded around the formation, eyes filled with greed, wariness, and curiosity.
The cultivators had tried to walk through, break the formation but none succeeded.
Ace walked past through the crowd and arrived at the formation.
The people around were talking about how to break the formation. But Ace didn’t wait, he decided to try his chance as he walked straight into the formation.
And much to the shock of everyone, him included he disappeared into the formation.
Not a ripple. Not a sound.
Just—through.
“Master?”
Shan Yifeng turned his head, his eyes widening in disbelief.
His master had walked straight through the formation—without triggering a single alarm!
That shouldn’t have been possible.
Shan Yifeng had painstakingly crafted this formation, reinforcing it every time someone tried to tamper with it.
Yet… his master had someone bypassed it.

“”Did Master see the weak points?”
“Wait… has he known formations all along?”
“No way. Then again, the manual he gave me—wasn’t that formation-related?”
A thousand thoughts churned in his mind.
Then—
“Ah! Master!”
A cheerful voice rang through the air.
It was from Liu Mei, head to heels covered in blood.
With a beaming smile.
She rushed toward Ace, her eyes shining with excitement.
“Master! That was so fun!” She beamed, crimson-stained hands clapping together.
Ace’s expression remained blank.
Fun?
He slowly turned his gaze to the carnage surrounding them.
Bodies.
Fresh. Lifeless. Blood pooling on the floor like ink spilled across parchment.
Ace inhaled slowly and then he spoke calmly.
“Alright. Both of you—” he said, his voice even. Unshaken.
“You were scared senseless. And then… master came inside and killed everyone. Understand?”
Silence.
Shan Yifeng blinked.
Then he understood.
Their master was shouldering the blame.
So he nodded.
“Understood, Master.”
Without hesitation, Shan Yifeng tossed a fresh set of clothes to Liu Mei.
“Go get changed.”
Liu Mei tilted her head but didn’t argue.
She skipped off, humming, before disappearing into the kitchen and coming out dressed.
Ace turned back to the still-glowing formation and muttered,
“We also need to do something about this.”
Shan Yifeng assumed his master meant to dispel the formation.
Earlier, he’d sensed cultivators probing its structure, trying to break through.
Each time, he had strengthened it.
But now—
He stopped controlling the formation.
He loosened the nodes, one by one.
The formation collapsed instantly, inciting gasp from the cultivators outside.
The formation had just went away in a blink. Next the inn’s doors creaked open.
From within the blood-soaked building stepped out three figures, alive and unscathed.
Yet behind them, on the ground lay dozens of corpses.
The murmurs exploded.
“Who are they?!”
“Aren’t they just kids?!”
“What happened inside?”
A man stepped forward, his presence imposing.
“What happened inside there?”
The moment he moved, the crowd fell silent.
A Dark Gold Rank cultivator.
The murmurs started almost immediately.
“That’s General Ming!”
“The one sent to maintain order in the city!”
“I heard he’s insanely strong!”
Another voice cut in—
“Strong? He split Mount Gryphon in half just because some bandits refused to hand over treasure!”
“No way! That’s an exaggeration.”
“Oh? I saw it with my own two eyes!”
The gossip swirled.
Meanwhile Ace had his gaze locked onto General Ming.
The man exuded authority.
And his troops stood in the back, awaiting orders.
Red spears. Red helmets. Black armor.
Polished steel. All of them ready to strike at a moment’s notice.
But Ace did not waver, he simply stared at general Ming in the face..
“I am General Ming.”
His voice was firm, unwavering.
“Tell me, in detail, what exactly happened inside.”
meeting his gaze, Ace began.
“I walked in—”
His voice was calm..
“And now I am walking out—escorting both of my disciples.”
The words hung in the air.
General Ming’s brows furrowed.
“That does not answer my question.”
“It does.”
Ace’s gaze was cold.
“Had you done your job, none of this would have happened.”
The crowd froze.
“Did he just—?”
“Did he just blame the general?”
A soldier reacted instantly.
“You dare—!”
His spear rose, poised to strike yet before he could even strike.
General Ming’s hand shot out, stopping him.
“Stand down.”
His expression remained unreadable.
“Are you accusing me?”
“Yes.”
The atmosphere thickened.
A storm brewed in General Ming’s eyes.
“And here I thought you had enough wisdom to choose your words carefully.”
He took a step forward. Just one.
And in that instant—he vanished..
A Dark Gold Rank cultivator—charging straight for the kill.
One single strike, deadly and fast, it wasn’t something the people around could fathom.
But—
A hand met his blade.
Clang!
The force shook the air, but his attack stopped. Blocked…. By a child!
Liu Mei.
Her small frame stood unmoving.
Her palm pressed firmly against his strike, as if it were nothing.
The crowd was stunned.
Even General Ming’s breath hitched.
He couldn’t believe it.
“A mere girl… was able to block me?”
Shan Yifeng stood frozen.
His mind raced.
“What did Master just do?”
“Did he… really just provoke the General of the city?!”
