Chapter 130: Will you jump a cliff if your friends jump?
“Catch him!”
A furious shout rang through the night as a group of women chased after a man.
Bruised and bleeding, the man ran. His breath came in sharp huffs, but even injured, he was still faster.
“Huff… Puff…”
Even as he ran, he found the energy to glance back over his shoulder, a wild grin splitting his bloodstained face.
“You’re too slow!” he taunted, his voice filled with manic laughter. “No wonder I was able to sneak a peek at your Holy Maiden!”
His words were like a spark to dry tinder.
“YOU BASTARD!” one of the women shrieked, her face twisting in rage.
“Ahhh! I’ll personally skin that mf alive!” another roared, her grip tightening around the weapon in her hand.
The man grinned, his bloodied face lighting up with satisfaction as he saw his taunt had the desired effect.
Their rage fueled their pursuit, making them reckless—just as he wanted.
“Huff… Puff…”
His breath was ragged, his body screaming in pain, but he couldn’t stop now. The women chasing him were too persistent. He needed an escape.
Without hesitation, he dashed to the right, his movements sharp and decisive.
In one swift motion, he drew his sword, channeled his soul power into it, and—without a second thought—leapt off the cliff.
The women chasing him froze mid-step.
“He—He jumped towards the Cliff of Death?” one of them stammered in disbelief.
They rushed to the edge of the cliff, peering down into the abyss below.
“Are we… Are we going down, Sister Zhi?” one of them hesitantly asked.
The cold beauty at the front said nothing. She simply stared at the deep chasm, her expression unreadable.
Then—without warning—she jumped.
“SISTER ZHI!” the others cried out in shock.
But there was no turning back.
“Tch. What are you waiting for?” another woman clicked her tongue before leaping after her.
Then another followed.
And soon they all began to jump off.
At the back of the group, a petite girl stared down at the dark, seemingly endless void.
“Am I insane for trying to jump into the cliff of certain death?”
She swallowed hard.
But her senior sisters had already jumped.

As the newest recruit, how could she hesitate?
Taking a deep breath, she also jumped.
“AH, ANGIE! STOP! STOP!!!”
The desperate scream rang through the air, but it was too late.
Angie heard it—confused for a second—but didn’t stop. She didn’t understand why her senior sister was screaming like that.
But her confusion wasn’t for long.
She saw the bloodied man they had been chasing all this time was still ahead, still taunting them, still out of their grasp.
Above her, her senior sisters streaked through the night sky like vengeful comets, swords gleaming under the moonlight.
Instinctively, Angie reached for her own sword—ready to summon it and join the pursuit.
But—
Nothing.
Her fingers grasped at empty air.
She blinked. Looked down. Looked up.
Then realization struck like a bolt of lightning.
“Oh… Haha… I forgot my sword was send in for repairs,” she muttered dumbly.
Panic hit her a second later as she felt her body fully give in to gravity.
“I FORGOT MY SWORD WAS IN REPAIR?”
Now she was falling.
Fast.
The abyss below opened its dark maw, welcoming her like an old friend.
Above, the girl who had screamed for her to stop was now flying at full speed, her face twisted in sheer desperation.
“Angie!!!”
Her arm stretched out, reaching.
Angie, still plummeting, also stretched her arm back up.
It was hopeless. The distance between them was too great.
They both knew it. That she wasn’t going to make it in time.
“Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!” she cursed under her breath.
In a last-ditch effort, she ripped a ring from her finger and hurled it toward Angie with all her might.
“GRAB IT! DON’T LOSE IT!” she screamed.
Angie barely registered what was happening before—thunk—the tiny object smacked against her palm.
Her fingers reflexively closed around it.
That was the last thing she felt before darkness swallowed her whole.
In the meantime, the pursuit came to an end. The man crashed into the ground, his body wracked with injuries.
Colde Zhi landed gracefully in front of him, her robes barely stirring despite the impact.
Without hesitation, she struck his abdomen with a devastating palm strike.
A sickening crack echoed through the air.
His Dantian shattered instantly.
The man trembled, but he still grinned.
Blood trickled down the corner of his lips as he looked up at her, mocking.
“Take out the Immortal Wine Gourd,” Sister Zhi demanded, her tone as cold as ice. “Do that, and I’ll grant you a swift death.”
The man let out a hoarse chuckle, his voice dripping with amusement.
“You think I raided your Immortal Garden just to beg for a swift death?”
The women around them tensed. Whispers broke out among them.
“The gourd… it’s already inside his Immortal Heart.”
“If we forcibly extract it, we’d be walking straight into his trap.”
“Indeed… within one’s Immortal Heart, the owner reigns supreme.”
“If we kill him, we risk the self-destruction of his immortal-heart destroying the immortal gourd in the process.”
Sister Zhi remained silent, deep in thought. Their words were true. Killing him outright meant losing the treasure forever.
But negotiating? That was just as impossible.
Her reputation, their sect’s pride—it wouldn’t allow them to bargain with a thief.
Then, suddenly—
“”Sister Zhi!” A desperate cry cut through the silence.
Zhi whirled around, eyes flashing. “Speak.”
The girl who arrived in a rush stumbled forward, face pale with distress.
“Junior Sister Angie—she fell into the abyss!”
The air around them stilled.
Zhi’s brows furrowed. Fell?
For a moment, she didn’t understand. Then—
Realization crashed into her like a tidal wave.
“HOW?!” she barked, her composure breaking for the first time.
The girl, breathless, quickly explained. “She jumped right after you all did! I tried to stop her, I really did! I flew after her, but she fell too fast! I’ve given her my spatial ring—inside there’s a tracker and some food. She should be fine for now, but we need to track her after returning to the sect!”
A heavy silence fell upon the group.
The man, listening all this time, suddenly straightened.
“I know where the abyss leads,” he said.
Sister Zhi’s sharp gaze snapped back to him, suspicion written all over her face.
“And why should I believe you?”
He smiled, an almost nostalgic look crossing his bloodied face.
“Because I came from below the abyss.”
A sharp intake of breath rippled through the women.
Zhi’s eyes narrowed.
“I don’t trust you,” she said flatly, her tone unyielding. “None of us do.”
The man exhaled slowly.
Then, without hesitation, he reached into his Immortal Heart.
Hum!
A brilliant light flashed, and in his palm sat the Immortal Wine Gourd.
The air thickened with tension.
Zhi’s fingers twitched, but before she could hesitate further, she grabbed it.
The gourd was real.
Its divine aura sent shivers down her spine.
The women behind her sucked in a breath.
The man coughed weakly, still smiling.
“There. Is that enough?” he said. “All I ask is to accompany your investigation team when you search for your fallen sister.”
Silence.
Zhi studied him, weighing his words, measuring his intent.
Finally, she asked, her voice cool but probing—
“Your name?”
He grinned despite the pain.
“Shan Feng.”
