Chapter 830: The Last Dinner
(One Day Before the Arc Ship Lands)
The countdown to a new life had officially begun.
With just one day remaining before the Arc Ship reached Terra Nova, the game servers had been permanently shut down, cutting off the last remnants of the digital world they had spent the past four years immersed in.
Now, all passengers were given clear instructions—pack up, finalize their affairs, and brace for landing.
Leo didn’t have much packing to do. He had never been the sentimental type, nor did he enjoy hoarding items like others who clung desperately to pieces of their past.
However, there were a few select things that he couldn’t bear to leave behind.
Turning to Amanda, he placed a small bundle in her hands, which included a worn sketchbook, a few sets of pencils and colored sticks that he had brought all the way from Earth, and a pair of training daggers from the Arc Ship.
“These are for you to carry,” he said in a casual voice, as tears streaked down Amanda’s face.
Amanda recognised the sketchbook, it was Leo’s lifeline during their time in sector D, where he would often sketch scenery from back Earth and things like her mother’s face to reminisce about a world left behind.
Over the years, he sketched less and less often, as he became more immersed in training and meditation, however, over the last 5 months he began sketching once again, this time to commemorate his time in Terra Nova Online.
His last drawing, was one where he stood over his in-game frog, with both being in full armor, which he signed at the bottom not as ‘Leo Skyshard’ but as ‘TheBoss’, his infamous in-game moniker.
Amanda knew just how much this book meant to him, and hence, she felt emotional when he handed it over to her instead of carrying it himself, knowing full well that he could not carry items out of the Arc Ship the way he was exiting.
“I’ll keep them safe,” she promised, her gaze meeting his, as Leo gave her a soft smile and a kiss on her head.
*********
With their time on the ship coming to an end, the final day had been reserved for family.
Alia and Luke had already made their way over to Leo’s quarters, choosing to spend their last few hours together rather than being stuck in their own rooms.
It wasn’t an occasion marked by extravagant goodbyes or drawn-out sentimentality—rather, it was a simple affair, where everyone tried to ignore the underlying tension.
Deep down, all of them knew that this was the last time they would be together like this.
By tomorrow, everything would change.
The comfortable security of the Arc Ship, the routines they had built, the people they had grown familiar with—all of it would be left behind as they stepped into the unknown, with all of them potentially facing major challenges the second they stepped out.
“Jeez, Amanda, it took you so long to learn how to cook the dishes that Leo likes. But by God did you get there by the end, This Broccoli Almond Soup is absolutely delicious.
I don’t know if we will be able to get these ingredients once we land on Terra Nova, but if we don’t, I will miss this dearly” Alia said, as Luke nodded in agreement.
“That’s true…. This soup is delicious, but, I think it’s exciting that we will be able to try new cuisines after we land on Terra Nova.
Imagine all the delicious foods in the universe that our Earthly palette has never tasted.
I mean, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m hyped” Luke said, as Leo pointed towards his brother with a smile.
“At our next reunion, we should celebrate by having dinner just like this together, with the twist being that everyone must bring one of their favorite alien dishes.
I think that would be fun,” Leo said, as everyone on the table nodded in agreement.
“That sounds like a good plan,” Amanda added, her voice choking slightly as she spoke, as suddenly the light atmosphere turned slightly sombre.
All eyes turned towards Amanda, who tried to hold her tears together, and focus on drinking her food, however, her head hung in shame conveyed what her words did not.
Leo leaned over, hugging her tight, as Alia tried to lighten the mood once again.

“What do you mean, when we have dinner together again? I think we’re going to have dinner together tomorrow itself, which means we might not have had enough time to try new dishes” Alia said, as Luke immediately picked up where she left off.
“That’s true, it could also happen that way, but if it does, my vote is that we all bring one alien dish to the dinner table anyways…. You know, to have our first space dinner experience together….
So if it gives us all horrible stomach aches and diarrhea, at least we will be suffering together” Luke said, as everyone burst in laughter.
Leo smiled comfortably, looking around the dinner table, as although he did not know when he would enjoy the comfort of family like this again, what he did know was that this was surely not the last time that they were sitting and dining like this together.
The four of them were family, and no matter how far away the universe separated them. Leo had faith, that life would eventually pull them all back together.

/// A/N – That’s it from my end folks. I hope you enjoyed the book Terra Nova Online, and I hope to see you all in the sequel, ‘Timeless Assassin’.
As some of you who have started reading the book already must know, the sequel is set in a darker world where Leo is a more ruthless character, and while Terra Nova Online was a lighthearted book, the sequel will be a proper blood pumping action novel.
I was supposed to launch a promotional chapter teasing the next book after this chapter today.
But webnovel has delayed my ending event by a day due to mismanagement, so the teaser will come out tomorrow, after which this book will be set to completed. ///
Come back and read more tomorrow, everyone! Visit Novel1st(.)c.𝒐m for updates.
