Chapter 119: Let me make you my Luna…
Lyla
We ended up in a lodging.
The lodging was small but cozy with wooden beams running across the ceiling and warm yellow light spilling from a simple lamp in the corner.
I was still trying to recover from having my naked self moving up and down a man whose face was blurred for the whole world to see. When Lenny told me that the video was about me, I stood frozen, unable to say a word.
I thought I would be embarrassed but I was so used to being humiliated that this felt like a field day for me.
Plus,
We couldn’t leave yet, we still needed to finish up with the Moon High priestess until then, we had rejected a temporary accommodation at the pack house for this. It was cosy and we could pay for a few hours rather than the whole day.
I sat cross-legged on the worn-out couch, my elbows resting on my knees as I stared at Nathan’s phone in his hand.
“I want to see it,” I said calmly.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked with a hesitant tone.
“Yes,” I nodded firmly. “I need to see it for myself.”
He hesitated for a moment longer before sighing and handing the phone to me. He gritted his teeth with frustration, his finger lingering on the device, reluctant to let it go. I took the phone from him and began to watch the video.
It was my sex tape, so to say, of my first-ever sex with Ramsey. The images on the screen made my stomach churn, not from the content itself, but from the knowledge that something so private, so intimate had been exposed to the world.
Still, I watched with a curious detachment. My expression shifted from tense to numb, with my lips curving into a small, amused smile. Now that I was watching the video, I couldn’t believe the tenderness and passion with which Ramsey had treated me.
Suddenly, Nathan snatched the phone from my hands growling with frustration. “That’s enough,” he snapped, quickly deleting the video and tossing the phone onto a nearby chair. “Don’t you find it weird watching yourself doing that when his face was magically blurred out?”
I looked at him, startled by the rage on his face. I didn’t know what to say to ease the tension. I just watched as he crossed over to the other side of the room, putting enough distance between us and sat heavily in a car by the window. His back was to me, and he cradled his head.
I didn’t know what to say and I didn’t know why he was so angry. Besides, how do you comfort someone when the most private moment of your life has been violated?
We sat together in silence for a few minutes, unable to take it any longer, I approached him, kneeling in front of him. “Nath…”
He didn’t look at me.
Gently, I placed a hand on his knee to support myself. “I’m sure Ramsey didn’t record that,” I started softly.
He scoffed, removing his hands from his face as he looked at me now, his eyes blazing with frustration. “You’re still defending him?”
I smiled faintly and shook my head. “No, I’m not. I’m just stating a fact and I know him. Ramsey may be a jerk, yes, but he wouldn’t do something like this. I don’t think he’s capable of it. Besides, we were too busy that day taking care of the attraction between us to think of recording. Nothing was premeditated, I’m sure of it. I walked into the garden first and…”
“I don’t want to hear about your escapades with him, Lyla,” Ramsey sighed, cutting me short. “You cannot trust people like that. If he arrested and had me thrown in the dungeons for four years… he can do anything.”
“What does he stand to gain from exposing it?” I asked. “He told me that he wants us to come back together. Leaking that would jeopardize all his plans for that, don’t you think?”
“Then who did it?” Nathan bristled.
I laughed, amused at the way his eyes were shining with fury.
Nathan hissed, narrowing his eyes at me. “You think it’s funny? Is your private life plastered out there for everyone to see? How are you so calm to begin with?” he asked.
I shrugged. “No, it’s not funny. It’s awful. But sometimes, when something is so terrible, you laugh because it’s the only way to cope.” I met his steely gaze and my smile faded immediately. “I’m fine. “It’s just I never imagined my sex tape would become a topic for discussion barely a few days after my dada’s burial. It’s almost funny in a twisted way.”
He sighed, reaching out and pulling me to my feet as he settled me in the car he was sitting on. Before I could protest, he wound his arms around me from behind, holding me close. His warmth enveloped me immediately and his steady heartbeat, a comforting rhythm against my back.
“Nathan,” I started to protest.

“Shh,” he murmured. “Just let me stay like this for a few minutes.”
I hesitated, but the tension in my body slowly eased as I leaned against him. His embrace was protective, grounding and for a moment I felt lighter. I could feel his warm breath against the back of my neck as he pulled me even closer.
I closed my eyes, trying to block off Ramsey’s love confessions. His words have been hunting me and I hated that my mind kept playing the vulnerable look I’d seen in his eyes, the way his tone had been pleading… I was lost in thoughts when Nathan stirred behind me.
“I hate seeing you like this,” he muttered under his breath as though he was wrestling with an internal conflict. “I hate knowing you’ve been hurt like this. I want to protect you, Lyla, but no matter how much I think about it, there’s only one way I can truly keep you safe.”
“How?” I asked. “What do you mean?”
He took a deep breath, his arms tightening around me. “To make you my Luna,” he said quietly. “Let’s get married, Lyla.”
