The Bigshot's Superstar Wife - Chapter 71
Chapter 71: Head Back Home
The tent they had once called home during their ancient trials surrounded them once more, the familiar scent of old parchment and burning incense filling the space.
Confusion settled in as they sat up, exchanging wary glances.
“Did we dream everything?” Athena whispered, her fingers brushing against the mark on her wrist. The warmth of the phoenix pulsed beneath her touch, as real as it had been in the palace.
“No,” Mors said, standing. His dragon, curled at the foot of the tent, let out a slow breath, its golden eyes watching him with knowing intelligence.
“Everything happened. We are no longer trapped in the ancient realm, but…” He turned to Athena, his gaze thoughtful. “It seems we were never meant to leave without them.”
Athena looked at her phoenix, feeling the steady beat of its heart against her own.
It was strange, this sense of completeness, as if something that had been missing for lifetimes had finally been restored.
“The swords brought us here,” she realized. “They wanted us to remember.”
Mors nodded. “And now we know why. We are not just their reincarnations. We carry their legacy, their duty.”
Silence stretched between them, but it was not heavy. It was filled with understanding.
They had returned, but they were not the same.
–
The stars stretched endlessly beyond the reinforced glass of the military spacecraft, glowing like scattered embers in the vast darkness.
The hum of the ship was a steady vibration beneath their feet, a quiet reminder that they were no longer in Theranos V but back in the reality they had left behind.
Mors sat in his seat, arms crossed over his broad chest, his expression unreadable as he stared out into space.
Across from him, Athena reclined against the plush seating, scrolling mindlessly through her optical brain.
The latest news about her survival variety show dominated the entertainment feed, with fans and critics alike praising her tenacity.
A week ago, she had been standing on alien terrain, fighting for her life against simulated dangers with her husband.
They thought she had only played a game, but in truth, she had been fighting for her existence far beyond their comprehension.
The editing was amazing, and the real trouble about Zergs appearing was cut off, some of the live broadcast episodes were also manipulated.
“We should be arriving in Sinalta in approximately five hours,” Mors finally spoke, his voice deep yet distant.
Athena glanced up. “What’s waiting for you there?”
Mors exhaled sharply, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
“The Supreme Commander called me back to headquarters. Apparently, there’s been a disturbance in the outer territories. Something about an anomaly they can’t explain.”
“An anomaly?” Athena raised a brow. “That sounds… suspiciously familiar.”
He shot her a knowing look. “I thought the same thing.”
Athena sighed, stretching her legs out. “And here I was thinking I’d get to enjoy my time off.”
Mors smirked, the ghost of amusement flickering in his sharp golden eyes. “You’re still technically on vacation. You’re just returning home with your husband.”
“Convenient,” she muttered, tossing her optical brain aside.

They fell into a comfortable silence. The weight of their shared past, the knowledge of their reincarnated souls, and the responsibilities they now bore sat heavily between them.
They had left Theranos V with more than just memories, they had left with divine weapons, powerful spirit beasts, and a truth that could shake the foundation of everything they knew.
Yet, no one in Sinalta was aware.
The swords, Arthivian and Elsienflora, rested within their respective spatial storage, lying dormant until called upon.
Their dragon and phoenix had retreated into their designated resting realms, hidden from prying eyes.
No one knew that within the age of technology and interstellar conquest, two beings who carried the legacies of an ancient empire now walked among them.
As the hours passed, the ship finally breached the atmosphere of Sinalta, the towering skyline of the capital city gleaming beneath them.
The moment their vessel docked, a slew of officers stood in attention, awaiting Mors’ return.
Athena adjusted the straps of her bag, slipping on a pair of purple sunglasses. Even if she wasn’t officially on duty, she was still a public figure.
It wouldn’t take long for the media to catch wind of her return, and she wasn’t in the mood for an impromptu press conference.
Mors stepped forward, his uniform crisp and imposing. “Report,” he commanded.
One of his adjutants, a sharp-eyed lieutenant, saluted.
“Sir, the Supreme Commander requests your immediate presence at headquarters. A private shuttle is already prepared for your departure.”
Mors’ gaze flickered to Athena. “And her?”
“The lady’s return has been noted, but no orders were given regarding her.”
Athena smirked. “That means I get to go home and enjoy my expensive bubble bath while you deal with your military nonsense.”
Mors shook his head with a low chuckle. “Enjoy it while you can.”
With that, he was escorted to his awaiting transport, disappearing into the military district as Athena turned toward the private entrance of the estate.
The moment she stepped inside, a sense of familiarity washed over her. This was her home, at least in this lifetime.
The luxurious interior, the polished floors, and the quiet hum of the automated AI assistants, it was a stark contrast to the ancient palaces and battlefields they had once known.
She made her way upstairs, tossing her bag onto the bed before stepping onto the balcony.
The city stretched before her, bustling with life, with towering buildings reaching for the sky like steel giants.
For a moment, she closed her eyes.
The warmth of her phoenix stirred within her, its presence lingering beneath her skin.
She knew, deep down, that they had not returned to Sinalta simply to resume their lives as Mors and Athena.
There was more to this, more to why the swords had guided them back, more to why they were granted spirit beasts in a world that had long abandoned the ways of the ancients.
Something was coming.
And they would be at the center of it.
