The Bigshot's Superstar Wife - Chapter 74
Chapter 74: Severin
The battlefield roared with chaos as Athena and Mors stood at the center of the storm.
The demon god, Severin, loomed over them, its obsidian form shifting like a liquid shadow, its molten eyes burning with cruel amusement.
Around them, the sky was streaked with energy blasts from the warships above, their firepower barely scratching the surface of the abomination that had stepped into the mortal realm.
Zergs swarmed like an endless tide, their grotesque forms twisting and shrieking as they hurled themselves at the soldiers.
Athena’s breath came ragged, her fingers tightening around Arthivian. The blade pulsed with ancient power, its dark edge gleaming in the crimson light of the battlefield.
Beside her, Mors held Elsienflora, its divine radiance standing in defiance against the abyssal presence before them.
Together, they had cut through the waves of Zergs, but Severin was different. The moment it had stepped forward, the weight of its presence had nearly crushed the life out of them.
“You dare stand against a demon god?” Severin’s voice slithered through the battlefield, resonating in the very air. “How foolish.”
Mors didn’t flinch. “I’ve killed demon gods before,” he said, his voice cold as steel. “You won’t be the first.”
Severin chuckled, its laughter like shattering glass. “Then entertain me, mortals.”
The world exploded as Severin lunged. Mors barely had time to parry, Elsienflora clashing against the demon’s claws with a force that sent shockwaves rippling through the ground.
The impact sent him skidding back, his boots carving trenches in the dirt. Athena darted forward, Arthivian singing through the air as she aimed for Severin’s exposed flank.
The demon god anticipated her.
A tendril of darkness lashed out, striking Athena across the chest before she could react.
Pain erupted through her body as she was thrown backward, crashing into the wreckage of a fallen mech. She barely had time to breathe before Severin was on her.
Mors moved on instinct. A blinding flash of Elsienflora’s power surged forth, slamming into Severin’s side and forcing the demon away from Athena.
The soldiers rallied behind him, their weapons unleashing a storm of plasma and artillery, trying to keep the monster at bay.
Athena struggled to her feet, blood trickling from the corner of her lips. Her ribs felt like they had been shattered, and her vision blurred for a moment. But she couldn’t stop. Not now.
Not when they were this close to victory.
Mors appeared beside her, his expression grim. “Stay behind me.”
She shook her head. “I’m not done yet.”
Together, they launched another attack.
Athena called upon Arthivian’s power, and the sword responded, a pulse of divine energy surged through her veins, pushing back the pain, the exhaustion.
With newfound strength, she carved through the Zergs in her way, her blade burning through their hardened shells like they were nothing.
Mors met Severin head-on, the force of their collision creating a crater beneath them.
The battlefield trembled.
Severin grinned. “You mortals… always so persistent.”
Then, it struck.
Faster than either of them could react, Severin’s claws speared through Athena’s side.

A sharp gasp left her lips as pain erupted through her entire body.
She looked down, watching in almost detached horror as black tendrils coiled around her wound, spreading like venom through her veins.
Mors turned just in time to see her fall.
The world stopped.
Athena barely felt it when he caught her, his arms wrapping around her as she collapsed against him.
Her vision swam, but she forced herself to look up, meeting Mors’ wide, terrified eyes.
He was saying something, yelling her name, but his voice sounded distant, as if she were underwater.
“I’m fine…” she tried to say, but the blood on her lips betrayed her.
Mors pressed his forehead against hers, his grip tightening. “Stay with me.”
She smiled weakly. “You’re holding me too tight.”
“Stay with me, Athena.”
The battlefield raged around them, but Mors didn’t care. He could feel her life slipping away, her warmth fading in his arms.
He gritted his teeth, fury surging through him. He turned his gaze back to Severin, and something inside him snapped.
Elsienflora pulsed, answering his call.
The demon god took a step forward, amusement still playing on its lips. “Pathetic. Did you truly believe you could win?”
Mors slowly laid Athena down, brushing her hair from her face with a gentleness that did not match the fury burning in his veins.
Then, he stood, his grip tightening around Elsienflora. The sword responded, light radiating from its core, a celestial glow that bathed the battlefield in golden fire.
Mors exhaled.
Then he charged.
Severin barely had time to react before Mors struck.
Elsienflora’s divine light cut through the darkness like a falling star, its brilliance blinding against the abyssal form of the demon god.
Mors moved with an unrelenting fury, his blade carving through Severin’s defenses as though he had become the wrath of the heavens itself.
Severin snarled, black ichor spilling from the deep gashes left by Mors’ relentless assault.
“You mortals never know when to yield,” the demon hissed, retreating slightly as its body struggled to regenerate.
Mors didn’t stop. He pressed forward, each step shattering the ground beneath him.
Every strike of Elsienflora sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, the light burning through Severin’s flesh like divine judgment.
The Zergs screeched in agony as the residual energy from Mors’ attacks disintegrated them on contact.
Severin lunged, its claws aiming straight for Mors’ heart.
But the warrior was faster. He sidestepped, twisting his body at the last second before driving Elsienflora straight into Severin’s chest.
The demon god howled.
Elsienflora’s light engulfed Severin, the divine power searing through the demon’s very essence.
The darkness that made up its form began to unravel, pieces of its body peeling away like ashes caught in the wind.
Severin gasped. For the first time, true fear flickered in its molten eyes. “No… This is not how it should end.”
Mors twisted the blade deeper.
The battlefield went silent as Severin exploded into light.
The force of the demon god’s destruction sent a powerful gust of energy through the land, wiping out the remaining Zergs in a single sweep.
The sky, once darkened by shadows and chaos, cleared, revealing the stars above once more.
