The Crown's Fire - Chapter 216
Chapter 216: Glimpse of You
There was a terse silence, and then Ezekiel hummed softly, “How about you rest and sleep now, Kate? Tomorrow, you can tell me whatever you want, and we’ll do things according to your preference. After all, whatever makes you happy is all I want in this world.” He whispered in her ear before leaning down to kiss her forehead. “Sleep and have sweet dreams, Kate.”
Katelina smiled at how considerate Ezekiel was. He made it sound like he would follow whatever she wanted. With an eased mind, she closed her eyes and let herself drift off to sleep, still feeling exhausted.
Ezekiel also closed his eyes and slept peacefully with his woman. It was past midnight and close to dawn when he woke up. He quietly slipped out of the tent to give instructions to Titus, requesting some spare clothes since he would be staying in Katelina’s tent from now on.
He also instructed Cora to inform Asura of the current situation and set up a meeting to discuss their progress.
“You sure work fast, Your Highness,” Cora commented, followed by a yawn. “I’ll go now and let Asura know.” She quickly left to go to Asura’s tent.
“Your Majesty, here are your clothes. Where should I put them all?” Titus asked, carrying one of his spare chests of clothes.
“Give me that,” Ezekiel said, grabbing the chest from Titus. Without a word, he returned to Katelina’s tent and placed the chest inside. He went outside and saw Cora talking to Asura. He approached the two women.
“Greetings, Your Majesty,” Asura said with a curt bow.
He simply nodded and instructed, “I will have my men set up another tent connected to Katelina’s, with a private bath. I want warm water ready every night.”
“I understand, Your Majesty. I will make all the necessary arrangements,” Asura answered with an awkward smile.
“I don’t want any rumors or scandals about Katelina, so start spreading the news that she is engaged to marry me,” Ezekiel said with a wide smile. Cora stared at him and asked, “Should I also spread the news that you’ve marked her?”
“Let Katelina decide that tomorrow. You’ll get the answer from Lady Asura,” Ezekiel answered. He then looked at Asura and asked, “Where can I prepare something for Kate? I want to cook something for her to eat once she wakes up.”
“Let me assist you, Your Majesty,” Asura offered.
Ezekiel’s priority was to bring food to Katelina’s tent, knowing she would be famished when she woke up.
The bond was already working, and he could feel Katelina sleeping peacefully. If she encountered a nightmare, he would know immediately and could even enter her dreams because of their flame bond.
Cora simply yawned as she looked at their king, who was obviously in a good mood, smiling now and then. It was unusual to see, but she was glad that everything had gone well. On the other hand, she felt bad for having to wake Asura at this hour when it was still not yet dawn.
Asura parted her lips as she watched King Ezekiel prepare and cook something for their Queen Regent. She had heard everything from Cora, but nothing seemed to register well yet since she was still sleepy.
Anyhow, she couldn’t wait to tease her friend Katelina, who had now lost her virginity to the man she loved and was about to marry the man who was ready to offer her everything, even the whole world.
‘When will I be fortunate to experience this kind of love?’ she thought as she dreamily stared at King Ezekiel. She lost her virginity at eighteen. ‘Wait, was it eighteen or nineteen?’ she thought, but that was not important. It was only unfortunate that she lost it to the wrong man who cheated on her.
But that didn’t mean she would no longer dream of a successful love story after those unsuccessful ones.
“Asura, you can go back to sleep. I don’t need anything. Everything is here. I apologize for disturbing you,” King Ezekiel suddenly told her, snapping her back to reality.
“I will be going back to my tent then, Your Majesty,” she said with a curt bow before quickly walking in long strides back to her tent.
Asura chuckled softly to herself as she made her way back, thoughts of teasing Katelina filling her mind. She was happy for her friend, and though she still harbored dreams of finding her great love, she was content to see Katelina so blissfully happy.
However, before she could enter her tent, she paused when she saw a familiar figure not far from her tent. She rapidly blinked as Kasper approached her with a wide smile.
“Lady Asura,” he greeted with a curt nod. “Cora told me that our King disturbed your sleep. I came here to check on him and what he’s doing, but I saw you, so I walked in your direction instead.”
She stared at Kasper. He was not a bulky man compared to the men she had involved herself with before, but he looked fit enough. Physically, he was handsome, though not exactly her type, but something was interesting about him and she found his company enjoyable despite their bickering.
“I’m about to go back to bed,” she commented.
“Are you sleepy?” he asked. Asura rolled her eyes and said, “Just spill it. What do you want, Kasper?” She spoke casually since he seemed not to mind. Everyone called him a Master, but he didn’t look like one to her, perhaps because he looked so young.
Kasper chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Alright, you got me. I just wanted to catch a glimpse of you,” he confessed, causing a faint blush to grace Asura’s cheeks. His straightforwardness was refreshing, and she found herself drawn to it.
With a playful grin, Asura struck a pose and gave Kasper a seductive look. “There you go… Satisfied?” she teased. “There will be plenty of opportunities to see more of me, Kasper. For now, why don’t you head back and get some more sleep? I plan to indulge in some beauty rest myself.”

Kasper grinned in response, appreciating Asura’s playful banter. “I’ll hold you to that,” he replied before turning to leave, leaving Asura with a lingering smile on her lips.
