Chapter 92: The Lightning Queen’s Gate
One hour remained before the plane would land in Luminaria City, one of the ten major cities controlled by the Reyes Duchy.
The Reyes Duchy.
The Arcwright Duchy.
The Aldovia Duchy.
The Galvia Duchy.
The Keldora Duchy.
These five duchies held unparalleled influence within the human kingdom, each commanding a professional guild that shaped the balance of power.
But there lay the problem—Reyes Duchy. A fortress of power, wealth, and authority.
And Ed needed to meet its duchess, Valtira Reyes.
Not only the duchess but also the guild master of [Storm Sovereign guild].
How could he, gain the audience of someone like her?
“I just have to make her look at me. That’s enough.”
If Valtira turned her gaze in his direction, she would sense Bloodmoon’s death aura.
That alone would be enough to force an encounter.
He only needed a moment.
His thoughts drifted back to the escape from the elven royal palace. Every step had been a risk.
He had moved under the cover of darkness, weaving through corridors…
Then, almost unconsciously, his mind wandered elsewhere—to the one whose fate had been sealed in suffering.
The true protagonist of this world.
Lyrius.
The Copy Master.
From the moment of his birth, the world had seemed determined to break him.
It was as the author of the novel finds pleasure in making his protagonist suffer.
At only six months old, his mother abandoned him and his father, leaving to become the second wife of king Thoroldir.
A decision that had been explained away by circumstance—her husband, Lyrius’ father, had treated her like an object, a thing to be discarded at will.
And so, she discarded him first.
But she did not just discard her husband.
She discarded Lyrius as well.
Without hesitation. Without a backward glance.

As though he had never existed.
That was the first betrayal.
At five years old, fate granted him the illusion of happiness.
His father, as if waking from a long slumber, began treating him well, showing kindness that should have been his from the beginning.
For the first time, Lyrius felt warmth.
A home. The safety of knowing he was wanted.
But happiness was fleeting.
His father was killed before Lyrius even had the chance to believe it was real.
And so, at five years old, he was thrown onto the streets, the cold and filth of the world swallowing him whole.
He was beaten, robbed, mocked by those stronger than him.
There was no mercy in the streets. There was no kindness in humanity.
Hunger became a constant companion, gnawing at his insides like a living beast.
He ate anything that could be chewed, swallowed filth if it meant surviving another day.
Maggots. Rotten scraps. Insects. Anything that kept him breathing.
He had no dignity left to lose.
And somewhere, in those endless days of suffering, he stopped feeling human.
Humanity was an illusion. A facade people wore when they weren’t drowning.
He had seen its true face, and he despised it.
But then—
Calanthir Reyes.
The daughter of Valtira Reyes. The sole girl in a world that had never spared him a second glance.
That was the moment everything began to change.
Ed exhaled.
“…Hello.”
A soft voice pulled him from his trance.
He blinked, turning his gaze upward.
The air hostess stood beside him.
“Hello,” Ed responded.
“Sir, the plane has landed.”
For a moment, he just sat there, digesting her words.
Landed? Already? He hadn’t even realized how quickly time had passed.
Taking a slow breath, he nodded. “Right. Thank you.”
As he stood, he adjusted his coat, pulling it tightly around him.
Stepping out of the aircraft.
The sky was painted in hues of orange and violet, the sun dipping low on the horizon.
A perfect scene.
He moved through the terminal, weaving through the crowd with practiced ease.
He had no luggage—everything essential was stored in his void space.
No unnecessary stops, no distractions. Just the mission ahead.
As he walked, his thoughts drifted back to Lyrius, the real protagonist of this world.
Calanthir Reyes had saved him, taking him into the prestigious Reyes Duchy.
At first, she had merely seen him as a lost child—someone of her age, abandoned by the world.
But slowly, that perception changed.
Affection grew between them, an unspoken bond forming in the midst of his struggles.
But the cruelest twist?
The very family that harbored him, that gave him a place to belong, was responsible for his deepest tragedy.
Calanthir’s grandfather—was the one who had murdered Lyrius’s father.
A revelation that would shake the foundations of everything Lyrius had come to know.
Ed exhaled sharply. That was the kind of world they lived in—one that thrived on irony and suffering.
He pushed forward, exiting the terminal.
The city stretched before him—tall buildings, neon signs flickering against the dimming sky, a constant hum of life.
Now, he just had to make sure Valtira Reyes—the Lightning Queen—noticed him.
And for that, he had a plan.
.
There were three ways to meet someone important.
The first was to kill someone valuable enough that their absence demanded attention.
Not a good idea, Ed thought. That would bring trouble before opportunity.
The second was to break into their territory and force a confrontation.
Risky. Too many variables.
The third? Wait until she came out.
It was the safest option. But waiting meant wasting time—time he could spend grinding, getting stronger.
No. I’m going in.
The Reyes Duchy was enormous.
A city within a city. It housed:
A school for noble children and prodigies.
A guild headquarters, where elite warriors and mages trained.
A private residential district for the guild members, who also served as soldiers.
And, towering over it all, the Main Palace—where Reyes family lives.
Getting inside the duchy itself? Easy.
There was no strict entry barrier; merchants, students, and workers moved freely.
But reaching the palace? That was the real challenge.
Now, standing before the colossal 100-foot-high main gates of the Reyes Palace, Ed felt the weight of the task ahead.
The walls stretched endlessly, an imposing fortress of wealth and power.
Three guards stood at attention, armored in silver with the Storm Sovereign Guild’s insignia crackling on their chest plates.
Confidence is the key.
Ed strode forward, his steps steady.
He met their gazes, his expression unreadable.
“Hey, you three.” Ed said.
The guards tensed. Their hands drifted toward their weapons, but they didn’t draw yet.
“State your business,” one of them said.
Ed’s lips curled into a slight smirk. “I’m here to meet Valtira Reyes.”
The guards glanced at each other, then laughed. “And I’m here to dine with the emperor. Move along.”
Ed didn’t flinch. Instead, he took a slow step closer, lowering his voice. “You might want to report my presence.”
One guard scoffed. “And why would we—”
Ed pulled out his phone and typed into the search bar: Handsome boy and elven princess dance.
He turned the screen toward them. “Look at this. I’m the one in the video, dancing with the elven princess. Do you still want proof?”
The guards stared at the screen. Recognition flickered in their eyes.
“So,” one of the guard said.
“So?,” ed asked.
“You might have edited this ,what’s the proof that’s you?,” Guard said.
‘What’s the proof?’ Ed thought.
“There’s nothing but it’s true,” ed said.
The first guard cleared his throat. “Even if that’s true, state your business first.”
“I want to meet Valtira reyes—Just tell her: Death Aura.”
‘This child seems noble let’s just tell head assistant about him’
Then guard disappeared inside.
‘Yes. That’s the thing,’ Ed thought.
Valtira hasn’t told anyone about her blessing, so she’ll definitely come.
Minutes passed. Then, the doors cracked open.
The guard returned. “Follow me.”
Ed suppressed a smile.
Plan successful.
