Chapter 95: Training the Starforged Bloodline
“Hey, I’m telling you, don’t help him. You’re making enemies out of them. You seem like a good guy, so that’s why I’m warning you.” A voice spoke softly.
“It’s fine, Marco.” Another voice responded.
“Haah!”
“Haah!”
Lyrius jolted awake, his breath ragged, his body screaming in pain.
His vision blurred momentarily before sharpening.
‘Where am I?’
His eyes darted around. He was lying on a firm bed, bandages wrapped tightly around his torso and arms.
The pain was immediate—his body ached, bandages wrapped around his arms, ribs, and legs. His vision swam before settling on the dimly lit infirmary.
Who brought me here?
His fingers curled against the sheets as fragments of memory resurfaced—the fists, the jeers, the humiliation.
His stomach twisted.
And then he saw him.
A boy sat across the room, white-haired, crimson-eyed, exuding an air of distant indifference.
Lyrius forced himself upright despite the ache in his ribs. His breathing was uneven, but his voice came out sharp.
“Who? NO,”
“Why?” he rasped. “Why did you bring me here?”
Caspian didn’t answer. He simply stared at him.
It wasn’t pity.
It wasn’t amusement.
It was disgust.
A cold, detached revulsion, as if looking at something pathetic. Something not even worth speaking to.
Lyrius’ breath hitched. His nails dug into his palms. His head pulsed with rage.
And then, in that same dispassionate voice, Caspian finally spoke.
“Useless.”
Something inside Lyrius cracked.
Useless.
Who the fuck is useless?
His mind swirled, flashing back to every insult, every sneer, every moment he had been trampled underfoot.

The world, cruel.
The teachers, the nobles, the commoners—they all looked at him the same way.
They all dismissed him.
They all assumed he would always be beneath them.
Useless?
This world is useless.
His heart pounded.
He wanted to scream, to lunge at Caspian, to tear that condescending expression off his face.
But he couldn’t.
His body wouldn’t move the way he wanted. He was too weak.
The realization clawed at his throat, suffocating him.
He wanted to deny it.
But a part of him knew the truth.
He had lost.
“Hey ,Useless”
“Shut up,” Lyrius whispered. His fingers curled into a fist. “Shut the hell up!”
Caspian stood up. “Then prove me wrong.”
He turned toward the door but paused before leaving.
“Come with me, Starforged bloodline user.”
Lyrius froze. His pulse spiked.
How does he know?
He had only told a handful of people about his bloodline.
It wasn’t something he flaunted. It wasn’t something others should know.
His thoughts raced, paranoiac creeping in.
Did someone tell him?
Caspian didn’t wait for a response. He simply walked away.
Lyrius trailed behind him, his body still aching, but his mind sharper than ever.
‘Who is this guy?’ He thought.
Why did he bring me here?
Caspian let out a small sigh as they walked.
{Brat, aren’t you being too much?} Bloodmoon’s voice echoed in his mind.
‘Who, me?’Caspian responded internally. ‘No, I’m just trying to help him understand his bloodline better.’
{No, I’m talking about your coldness.}
Caspian ignored the remark. His eyes flickered toward Lyrius for a moment.
Seeing him beaten and broken like this—it felt like nostalgia.
{Great memories,} Bloodmoon mused.
Caspian scoffed.
“Hey, wait.”
A voice came from behind.
“Lyrius,” the boy muttered, hesitating before extending his hand for a handshake.
Caspian glanced at it before taking it briefly. “Caspian.”
They continued walking until they reached the training grounds.
The early morning light cast long shadows across the open field.
“Who are you? Why aren’t you in class? It’s school time,” Lyrius asked.
“Me?” Caspian raised an eyebrow. “I’m a new student. And as for school—it’s boring.”
Lyrius frowned. “Boring?”
“There’s not much to study there.” Caspian shrugged.
‘I already learned everything at the elven palace. Now I just have to train.’
Lyrius narrowed his eyes.
“How do you know about my bloodline?” Lyrius finally asked, his voice carrying a slight edge.
Caspian didn’t answer. He simply kept walking, ignoring the question entirely.
Lyrius clenched his fists.
He tries to act distant, but he’s just another person playing hard to get.
He’s no different. They all pretend to be above others, but in the end, they’re all just the same—
He stopped.
His thoughts surprised even himself. Was this really what he believed? Or was it just the pain talking?
Caspian observed him from the corner of his eye.
That guy tries to act tough, but after all, he’s still a child. He still wants friends.
Poor guy.
Just like me.
As they reached the training field, Caspian turned, his crimson eyes locking onto Lyrius’ brown ones.
“Are you ready, useless?” Caspian asked, his voice laced with mockery.
Lyrius stiffened. “For what?”
“For what?” Caspian repeated, pausing for a moment. “Huh… actually, I don’t know.”
Lyrius blinked in confusion.
{You brought him here to teach him about his bloodline, idiot.} Bloodmoon’s voice rang out in his mind.
“Oh, right.” Caspian exhaled.
Lyrius frowned, growing impatient. “Well?”
Caspian turned toward him, crossing his arms. “Listen closely. Your Starforged Bloodline has two key abilities.”
Lyrius’ breath hitched.
How does he know—?
“The first is that you can bend gravity around your own body at will.” Caspian smirked. “The second… well, you’ll find that.”
Lyrius stared at him. This guy… who exactly is he?
“Let’s begin,” Caspian muttered, “Run toward me at full speed while bending gravity to your will.”
Lyrius narrowed his eyes.
“Run toward you? And how exactly does bending gravity help me run faster?” he asked.
Caspian exhaled sharply, shaking his head as if the question itself was beneath him.
His arms crossed over his chest, his expression unreadable.
“You don’t even understand the basics of your own bloodline.”
Lyrius grit his teeth at the jab, but he kept quiet, waiting.
“There are four ways you can use your Starforged Bloodline to enhance speed,” Caspian explained.
He held up a single finger. “First—Reduced Weight. By manipulating gravity, you can lighten yourself, making your movements faster and more effortless. You won’t be fighting against your own mass, which means less resistance and more speed.”
Lyrius processed the information, nodding slowly. Lightening his weight—he could see how that would work.
Caspian raised a second finger. “Second—Enhanced Propulsion. You can create a gravitational pull behind you, pushing yourself forward. Think of it like an invisible force giving you an extra burst of acceleration.”
Lyrius’s brows furrowed as he imagined it.
A force pulling him forward—was that even possible? Could he control gravity like that?
“Third,” Caspian continued, “Altered Traction. By adjusting the gravitational force between your feet and the ground, you can increase your grip. This means you can push off the ground with more force, accelerating and stopping with precision. No wasted movement.”
Lyrius clenched his fists. That sounded useful—no, necessary. His movements before had always been sluggish, lacking control.
This could change that.
“And lastly,” Caspian said, lifting his fourth finger, “Gravity-Assisted Stride. You can stretch your stride, making every step cover more distance. Manipulating gravity in short bursts could help you move in ways normal people never could.”
Lyrius exhaled, his mind reeling from the possibilities.
He had never considered his bloodline this way before.
To him, it had always been a dormant force, something that pulsed within him but never truly obeyed his will.
But now—
Caspian took a step forward. “Now, try it.”
Lyrius inhaled sharply. His muscles tensed. He focused, reaching deep within himself, searching for that elusive force that had always felt just out of reach.
Gravity. It was all around him. He could feel it—pulling, pressing, binding him to the earth.
He let it shift.
And then, he ran.
