The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1003
Chapter 1003: Attack on Bravos Chapter 1003: Attack on Bravos There was an underground location on the periphery of the Trinity Saint Realm.
The place was covered in shadows, and six figures were inside.
All of them were hiding their appearances in robes of different colors.
No one but them should know about this place, yet they still chose to cover their figures, showing just how secretive or paranoid they were. “How could this happen?
The invasion must be kept secret, yet the entire High Council and Royal Guards know about it by this point!” One of the figures shouted, his voice hoarse like an old man’s.
Of course, whether this was his natural voice or a disguise was unknown.
“It is all the fault of the Dark Brotherhood.
Hmph, they call themselves the strongest assassin force on the island, and not only were they spied upon by an old man and a child, but they were also killed!” The man covered in golden robes spoke in an icy tone.
His massive and bulging figure unleashed shocking pressure, and he directed all of it toward a member of their group covered in blue robes. The man in blue robes clenched his fists, feeling he was becoming the center of attention.
The eyes of the group were full of either mockery or disdain, raising a burning rage in his heart, but he did not dare to lash out at all of them. “The Dark Brotherhood made a great mistake and should be severely punished, but we must not forget about the youth that brought the news.” The figure covered in red robes spoke, his voice distorted, but the sense of loathing and hatred was still clear.
“Luckily, we will not have to worry about him for long.
One of Oliver’s assassins should be on his way to solve that problem for us.” The rest of the group turned toward the man in the red robe, showing surprise, with one of them speaking in awe.
“You managed to push Councilman Oliver to do your bidding so fast?” “Haha, that stupid man is incredibly easy to manipulate.
I just whispered a few words, and he was so enraged that he summoned one of his assassins in front of me.
Given his temper, there is no way Oliver would have postponed the act, so the assassination should happen in the coming days,” the man in a red robe laughed, and even his distorted voice could not hide the sense of pride and arrogance in his tone. “Hmph, it was your job to stop any information regarding the vision from reaching the High Council.
You have clearly failed, so why are you acting so cocky now?” The man covered in blue robes could not endure it and shouted as he saw the boastful stance of the man in red robes.
The red-robed man’s mood immediately soured as he turned to the one in blue robes, yet someone else spoke before he could start to rebuke.
“Enough of this bickering and self-indulgence.” The one speaking was the man in the dark robe.
His voice was the only one that did not seem distorted, and it had a guttural tone as if emerging from the chest instead of the mouth.
The moment the man spoke, all the rest of the group fell silent, and none dared to utter a single word.
Not only was the man extremely important in the invasion, but he was also incredibly powerful since he was a Legend!
The figure in the dark robe turned toward the red-robed man.
“It is good that an assassin has come into play, as it saves me the trouble of going after that intruder.
But it doesn’t change our predicament.
According to my information, the soldiers of the Trinity Kingdom are reinforcing all port cities, and it seems that soon, even Legends will be mobilized.” As soon as the dark-robed figure uttered those words, a heavy atmosphere filled the room.
The start of any invasion was the most challenging part, as it was the moment when the invading forces would be the most exposed.
That was why taking down a port city was so important.
It was crucial to break its defenses and allow the invading forces a foothold, a place where they could gather, defend, and advance. “The only good news is that the High Council doesn’t know our target and their reinforcements are spread too thin.” The figure in the dark robe turned to the man in the blue robe before speaking.
“Contact the Dark Brotherhood and inform them they need to speed up the attack on the Port City of Bravos.” The figure in the blue robe seemed momentarily surprised when he heard those words and remained silent before speaking.
“My Lord, the attack was supposed to happen in a week.

If they speed up things, the Dark Brotherhood will not have time to gather its full power, and they will face severe casualties.
I do not know if they will accept something like that.” “Hmph, it is not a request but an order.
Their negligence jeopardized the entire invasion, and unless they want to share the fate of the Trinity Kingdom, they will do as they are told!” The dark-robed figure shouted an invisible pressure emanating from his body that made the entire room tremble.
It was so strong that it almost forced the other people in the room to their knees despite many of them being above Level 18.
“Yes, my Lord, I will make sure they all understand!” The man in the blue robe trembled, fear evident in his voice, and he immediately obeyed the dark-robed figure’s orders. The dark-robed figure focused on the man in the blue robe for a moment, making sure his words were clear before staring at the rest of the people in the room.
“We will not see each other again until the invasion starts.
You all have your missions.
Fulfill them, and you will enjoy a limitless life.
Fail, and you will see your families burn before your eyes.” After uttering those somber words, the dark-robed figure vanished from the room.
The five traitors glanced at each other with a solemn expression.
They understood there was no pulling back now.
They either succeeded or perished along with everybody who carried their blood.
—– Bravos was a sprawling, vibrant port city nestled along the edge of the Sea of Wonders.
It was known for its bustling docks and towering fortifications.
The city was divided into several districts, each with its own unique character, from the merchant-filled marketplaces to the serene residential areas.
Of course, it was also heavily guarded since it was an entry point to Trinity Island.
The city’s warriors were a formidable force, trained for decades, and no small number of them moved across the sky, showing their might. At the entrance to the main harbor stood a colossal statue of a centipede.
This immense statue, carved from dark stone, stretched hundreds of feet long, its segmented body arching over the water.
Each segment of the centipede showcased engravings of protective runes and symbols.
Its many sharp and menacing legs seemed ready to spring to life at any moment, making it clear it was no simple decoration.
Despite the Port City of Bravos’ massive military force, the people lived a very peaceful life.
After all, if an invasion were to occur from the sea, they would see it beforehand and have time to evacuate.
Unfortunately for them, a force was moving into the city, but it did not come from the sea but from the mainland.
The moment the sun dipped below the horizon, the shadows moved.
Hundreds of figures, cloaked in darkness, emerged from the forest surrounding Bravos.
These were the elite forces of the Dark Brotherhood, mages, and warriors alike, each specializing in dark skills and shadow spells.
They advanced silently, their forms blending seamlessly with the encroaching night.
With their training and skills, the members of the Dark Brotherhood should have reached the walls undetected, but they were out of luck.
The guards were already on high alert since they knew about a possible attack on the port cities that had already spread across the kingdom.
One of the Sky Lords in the walls noticed shadows moving and immediately shattered an amulet on his neck. The moment the amulet broke, the soldiers went into action.
A series of loud, resonating hums echoed through the city as the defensive force field was activated.
A translucent dome began to materialize, shimmering with energy as it enveloped Bravos, The forces of the Dark Brotherhood were surprised by the incredibly fast reaction of the city’s soldiers, but they still marched forward, as failure was not a choice.
Dark mages hurled spells of flaming shadow at the dome, their incantations creating swirling vortices of darkness that battered against the force field.
In response, the city’s mages, stationed at strategic points around the dome, chanted their own spells, reinforcing the barrier and countering the dark magic with bursts of fireballs.
On the ground, the warriors of the Dark Brotherhood surged forward with their energy bursting across their bodies, intending to use their weapons to shatter the dome.
