The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1006
Chapter 1006: Learning how to obtain a True Name (II) Chapter 1006: Learning how to obtain a True Name (II) Councilman Irion stared at Cain for a few seconds before speaking in a solemn voice, “Could you follow me?” A flash of thrill and excitement appeared in Cain’s eyes as he heard those words, but he hid them well, not allowing anything to show.
He simply smiled at the old man and nodded.
“Of course, always glad to accompany the honorable councilman.” After that exchange, Councilman Irion and Cain rose into the sky.
While Cain could rise to the sky thanks to his own power, the old man had to use a medallion that seemed to imbue his body with the ability to fly.
As the duo flew back to the castle, the grand structure nestled between the three Saintess statues, Councilman Irion spoke in a solemn voice, “Less than ten years ago, the Trinity Island, our home, suffered an invasion that consisted of a force with the power to completely obliterate us.” Cain’s eyes narrowed as he heard that.
He knew exactly the event that Councilman Irion was referring to, as the picture of the massive dark army was still clear in his mind.
Of course, he remained silent, waiting for the old man to continue.
“The ones behind the invasion were none other than our old enemies, the Lynch Kingdom, but they were just a facade.
The true mastermind who provided the forces was a power within the South Coast.” As he reached this point, Councilman Irion could not help but sigh, remembering the dread those days carried for him.
On the other hand, a solemn expression appeared on Cain’s face as he considered those words and realized just how strong the forces of the main continent were for them to use an army that could equal one of Aether’s Six Sacred Races to fight a proxy war.
‘The main continent might have organizations whose power could equal the Depravita Race.’ A light full of desire burned in Cain’s eyes.
There were greater dangers, but there was also the chance to grow stronger.
“Back then, I and everyone else throughout the Trinity Kingdom was doomed, but the three Saintesses saved us.” Councilman Irion could not help but show awe and devotion in his eyes as he uttered those words.
“The three Saintesses?
According to my understanding, the Legendary entities that birthed the Trinity Kingdom left the island hundreds of years ago.” Cain spoke calmly, reciting the information he learned from the Arshop’s library.
Councilman Irion softly nodded.
“The three Saintesses did leave the Trinity Island, but they did not simply disappear; they returned to the main continent.
They joined a powerful organization there that helped us survive that cataclysmic invasion.” The old man paused at this moment, glancing at Cain for a few seconds before deciding to continue.
“You might not believe it, and even I found it hard to understand, but the organization behind the Saintesses sent one man whose power was like the sun, and he alone sundered the invasion army with a single strike!” Shock, awe, surprise, and disbelief appeared on Cain’s face as he heard those words.
“How could that be possible?” Of course, all those emotions were a ruse.
Cain knew Councilman Irion was right since he saw with his own eyes the man with angelic wings who sent a beam of solar energy and sundered the enemy army.
That was a power Cain could only get near if he channeled all the strength of Aether.
Upon seeing the shock and disbelief, Councilman Irion felt slightly more relaxed as he realized the young man was not an inhuman monster and could be surprised.
The old man then took a deep breath as he continued with a solemn voice, “The reason I am telling you all of this is so you can understand that even if you rise to become a Legend, there are forces that can easily pluck you down from the sky, so you must never be too cocky.” Cain’s eyes grew sharp as he heard those words and understood why the old man was telling him all this.
Once he became a Legend, the High Council’s control would be very frail, but they were just a governing body of the Trinity Kingdom, and there were many figures that could take him down if he went wild or broke his oaths.
While Cain was not intimidated by the forces of the Trinity Kingdom, he was wise enough to understand the importance of trust in any world.
He knew that no one would be willing to work with someone who betrayed those who had helped him. “I understand your words and assure you I will repay all my debts.
My friends and my enemies know that I do not forget.” Cain’s words carried an aura that seemed capable of giving warmth to allies and burning foes.
Councilman Irion could not help but freeze for a moment as he listened to the young man.
He knew that such an aura could only be born from a heart that had raised thousands to glory and burned millions to ashes.

In normal times, the old man would have avoided a person like that and made sure to cut their connection to the Trinity Kingdom, but now were times of war, and they needed someone capable of bloodshed beyond imagination.
“Thanks to you, we not only learned about the invasion but also managed to take down the Dark Brotherhood and protect the city of Bravos.” Councilman Irion turned toward Cain and looked the young man directly in the eyes with sharp and meaningful intent.
“Taking into account your promise about fighting for the Trinity Kingdom, I have decided to give you access to the Legendary Realm’s cultivation techniques.” Cain’s eyes met the old man’s with a resolute gaze, devoid of any pretense.
He spoke with a sincerity that resonated in the air, “As long as the Trinity Kingdom stands against the invasion, I will be on the frontlines, ready to fight.” Councilman Irion’s eyes narrowed as he understood the hidden message in those words.
Cain would fight, but if the Trinity Kingdom gave up or if they could no longer fight, the young man would not sacrifice his life for them.
“That is an oath I can accept,” Councilman Irion declared with a firm resolve.
He then led Cain back to the ground, and together they marched into the castle.
There were guards all around them, but none dared to stop Councilman Irion, and soon, the duo reached a very obscure and dark area of the castle.
Cain glanced around, and his Eye of Gluttony showed him the dozens of magic formations that could kill him if activated.
Cain was relieved that he didn’t let his greed and impatience get the better of him.
If he had tried to use Shadow Body to infiltrate the castle and steal the knowledge, he would have been detected by the castle’s security and blasted to pieces.
The duo did not take long to stand before a massive stone door covered in ancient and powerful runic formations.
Councilman Irion made a small cut on his palm and placed it on the door.
The old man’s blood resonated with the runic formations, and the massive stone door opened on its own, revealing a small library with barely a few hundred books.
Cain did not let the size fool him, as he felt that each and every single one of those books contained a sea of knowledge that could equal or even surpass the top-tier starry gems in the Babel Tower.
“This is the Legendary Library of the Trinity Kingdom.
Here, you will find all the knowledge you need to awaken your True Name and many Legendary skills and spells.
You can stay for a month; after that, you must come to Bravos to aid in the city’s defense.” Councilman Irion’s voice was harsh as he spoke to Cain, making it clear those terms were not up for negotiation.
Cain stared at the old man for a moment.
A month was definitely not enough time to advance to the Legendary Realm, but it should allow him to learn the key to achieving that level.
Although he would have liked to awaken his True Name before joining the battlefield, war waited for no man.
“I understand.
In a month, I will join the forces in Bravos and fight against the invasion.” Cain clasped his hands and nodded to the old man.
It would be dangerous to fight as a Sky Lord in a place with Legends, but it was not the first time he participated in a battlefield with figures at a much higher level than his own.
Councilman Irion smiled as he saw that Cain accepted and nodded to the young man, indicating he should enter the library and close the massive stone gates.
Once Cain was alone in the library, his desire and greed were no longer contained, and he began to look around, searching for the path he would take into the Legendary Realm.
