The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1012
Chapter 1012: Devouring the Dark Brotherhood (II) Chapter 1012: Devouring the Dark Brotherhood (II) Once the gray flames had fully flooded the body of the member of the Dark Brotherhood, the Eye of Gluttony began to tremble before unleashing an immense devouring power that drew the gray flames. Cain could feel a much higher devouring efficiency using the Soul Devourer Legendary Cultivation Technique.
The Eye of Gluttony consumed the life force, vitality, energy, and Spirit Force, leaving nothing left.
It did not take long for a halo of gray flames containing a massive amount of energy and vitality to appear around Cain’s energy pool, brimming with power that he could use later to replenish his reserves or, more importantly, advance in the crystallization process.
Cain was exhilarated by the devouring power he now possessed, a sensation that escalated to pure and absolute bliss as he witnessed a stream of golden force being carefully extracted from the energy pool and merging with his own.
A short tremble affected Cain’s body, and he could not help but smile as he felt a new, unique force reach his soul.
Although it was completely new, Cain knew he would only need to focus on it for a few seconds to understand how to use it flawlessly.
Of course, Cain’s focus remained on the devouring process.
While his goal was the Innate Ability, he was here to obtain this individual’s memories, and many of them reached his soul.
Just like with the energy, the use of the gray flames improved memory assimilation, and Cain was able to obtain much more knowledge from the man’s mind.
It took half an hour before the last stream of gray fire was consumed by Cain’s Eye of Gluttony.
Lord Commander Sarukan and Archduke Halbinder were stunned to see that the only thing remaining of the man of the Dark Brotherhood was a pile of dust the size of a fist.
Everything else was consumed and assimilated by the young man.
Cain remained silent for several minutes.
His eyes closed as he organized the sea of knowledge that he had just obtained from the man’s memories before turning toward Lord Commander Sarukan.
“Does the name Grand Lich Morkon mean anything to you two?” At the mention of that name, Grand Lich Morkon, their eyes widened, and expressions of shock and dread etched on their faces.
The leader of the Royal Guard spoke in a solemn voice, “Did you hear that name in the memories of that man?” Cain could see by the duo’s reaction that Grand Lich Morkon was a dangerous foe and calmly nodded upon hearing the Lord Commander’s question.
“Yes, according to what the man heard from his comrades, Lamerto was supposed to receive that person after gaining control over Bravos.
This is just gossip and hearsay, so whether or not it is true, I cannot say for certain.” Lord Commander Sarukan nodded but remained silent and did not answer Cain’s question before signaling the young man to continue his report.
Although Cain was curious about Grand Lich Morkon, his mission was to give information, not demand it, so he did not waste time and carried on.
“Other than that name, there is not much to tell, as they were just tasked to weaken the Trinity Kingdom and gain control of Bravos, something we already knew.
There is a piece of interesting information, and that is the Dark Brotherhood only received contact from this invading power two years ago.
It happened less than a month after the dark army that intended to invade the island was destroyed by that man that came from the main continent.” “Two years, you say?
So little time.” A pensive expression appeared on Lord Commander Sarukan’s face.
If the invading force contacted the Dark Brotherhood around the same time they started their invasion strategies, that meant they did not have much time for preparation, which would be good news for the Trinity Kingdom.
All sorts of thoughts crossed Lord Commander Sarukan’s mind, but he did not reveal any of them and simply signaled Cain to continue with the devouring process.
Cain nodded to the man and went to the next member of the Dark Brotherhood, channeling the abilities of the Soul Devourer Legendary Cultivation Techniques and summoning the gray flames that permeated the man’s body and spirit.
Once the flames reached every inch of the man’s existence, the Eye of Gluttony came into play and began to consume all his energy, vitality, and even Innate Ability.
After finishing with the man, leaving only dust behind, Cain turned toward Lord Commander Sarukan and softly shook his head.
He obtained a sea of knowledge, but there was no new information related to the invasion.
Lord Commander Sarukan only nodded and signaled for Cain to carry on, so he did.

One by one, the people of the Dark Brotherhood who had been captured alive had their bodies and spirits flooded by gray fire before being consumed by the Eye of Gluttony.
After almost four hours, only six piles of dust were left, and no more members of the Dark Brotherhood were alive.
All their energy was now surrounding Cain’s energy pool, ready to be used as fuel for the crystallization, and their Innate Abilities had assimilated into his soul.
“I can now confirm that Grand Lich Morkon is indeed part of the invading force, and by their schedule, we will encounter the vanguard of the invasion in less than five days.
Other than that, the group did not possess any valuable information,” Cain spoke with a voice full of certainty.
Although the amount of information that Cain managed to obtain was not much, those two pieces of knowledge were extremely important, and Lord Commander Sarukan knew they would make a great difference in the time to come.
Lord Commander Sarukan turned toward Cain for a few moments before speaking in a solemn voice.
“Grand Lich Morkon is the king of the Lynch Kingdom and the strongest life form in it.
His power is said to rival that of a Stellar Abyss Legend.”
