I have lost count of the times he saved my life.” Lord Commander Sarukan spoke with a meaningful light in his eyes as he watched the scholarly mage leave before gazing at Cain.

“Follow me.” Cain couldn’t help but smile as he walked alongside Lord Commander Sarukan.

It didn’t take long for the duo to reach a massive room filled with all sorts of armor and weapons that made the ones he was using look like rubbish.

“The armory of the Trinity Saint Realm has been moved to this place, so here you can see the best the kingdom has to offer.

Since the information you provided will immensely help adjust our battle formations, I will give you access to either two pieces of Pseudo-Legendary Equipment or a single Legendary Artifact.” Lord Commander Sarukan spoke in a magnanimous tone, and he was indeed very kind.

Usually, it would take decades of service for someone to get a single piece of Pseudo-Legendary Equipment.

Cain remained silent as he heard those words, and before making a choice, he closed his eyes and began to assimilate the knowledge of the six new Innate Abilities he had fused into his soul.

Lord Commander Sarukan was a little confused by the young man’s sudden silence, but everyone had their secrets, so the man simply waited.

It was very easy for Cain to learn the ins and outs of all the Innate Abilities he stole from the member of the Dark Brotherhood, and a sharp light appeared in his eyes as he went through them.

‘Among the abilities, four are meant for melee and two for spellcasting.

The melee Innate Abilities allow me to control the weight of my weapon, enhance my body’s resilience, imbue my body with the power of the wind to improve my speed, and infuse my hands and weapons with sundering power.

As for the spellcasting, one allows me to manipulate shadows into whips and shields, and the last grants control over illusions.’ The Innate Abilities that Cain obtained were all useful on their own, but to fully harness their power, he needed to find synergy between them, and as he thought of an initial battle style, the type of equipment he would need became clear.

“I want a Legendary Weapon.” Cain’s eyes were sharp.

He had Energy Barrier, Steel Body, Wind Master, and Shadow Body for defense, movement, and escape.

What he needed now was a weapon that could endure the power of his new abilities and break through the defenses of a Legend.

Lord Sarukan was taken aback by Cain’s choice.

In a large-scale war, most would prioritize survival and opt for armor.

However, he respected the young man’s decision and nodded, leading Cain to the section housing the Legendary Weapons.

Once they reached the far end of the hall, Cain saw a series of weapons, all unleashing a very powerful aura.

‘Their auras put all of them at the Saint Realm.

The Trinity Kingdom is less than six hundred years old, yet they can amass weapons that Aether did not see in thousands of years.’ This sight reminded Cain of the high level of civilization in this world.

The Trinity Kingdom took over a tiny island, and there were thousands more like it, so one could not even imagine the type of weaponry that the central continent of the Crimson World could have.

Cain’s mind didn’t wander to the potential of the world’s weaponry.

He remained focused on the task at hand, his eyes scanning the array of weapons.

Spears, axes, and bows all caught his attention, but it was the massive black bastard sword that drew him in.

It was the only weapon not hanging on the wall, and its sheer size and weight made it stand out.

The bastard sword was massive, nearly as tall as Cain’s body, and its weight was so immense that the tip buried itself into the ground.  “That is called Sky Breaker.

It is made of a massively heavy meteorite, so just wielding it requires incredible strength.

It can break through energy barriers.” Lord Commander Sarukan gave a thorough description of the weapon before focusing on Cain and giving a piece of advice.

“It can be considered the highest-level Legendary Weapon here, but it is extremely hard to master and use.

Since you seem to focus on fast attacks, I don’t think it will be useful.” Lord Commander Sarukan attempted to push Cain’s attention away from the bastard sword, yet that description made a broad smile appear on his face since the weapon seemed tailored for him.

Without a word, Cain stepped forward, standing before with the weapon.

He reached out and grasped the handle.

As he attempted to lift it, his eyes widened in surprise.

The weight was overwhelming.

His body, capable of shouldering a mountain, was unable to budge the sword with his left hand alone.

It took Cain using both hands to just move the sword out of the wall, but he could not raise it.

Even when he made his energy course through his body, he could only lift it a few centimeters from the ground before being forced to let it fall again, making the entire hall tremble.

Lord Commander Sarukan, understanding Cain’s fascination with the weapon, was about to suggest an alternative.

However, his eyes widened in shock and awe the next second Lord Commander Sarukan was so shocked by Cain’s sudden display of strength that he couldn’t contain his surprise.

“How!” He exclaimed as he watched Cain effortlessly lift the massive sword with a single hand, as if it were a mere twig.

Cain’s smile widened as he felt the swift movement of the massive bastard sword.

His body hadn’t suddenly become stronger.

It was through the use of his Innate Ability, Weight Manipulation, that he had reduced the weight of Sky Breaker to a manageable level.
