The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1017
Chapter 1017: Fighting a Legend (II) Chapter 1017: Fighting a Legend (II) Cain analyzed his current power and capabilities.
Thanks to the many Innate Abilities he had acquired, his destructive power was rising higher and higher, but his stamina, defense, and vitality still needed improvement.
After a few minutes of regulating his breathing, Cain adopted a pensive expression and triggered the Innate Ability that enhanced the sundering power of his hands and weapons.
The transformation was immediate and awe-inspiring.
His hands turned black and metallic, gleaming with an eerie, otherworldly sheen.
It was then that his Spirit Force surged, sending a rush of energy through the Innate Ability.
The transformation spread, covering his forearms with the same metallic blackness, and his fingers elongated into fiendish claws, sharp and menacing.
The power coursing through his hands was palpable, and Cain felt the power to rip anything that came in contact with his finger. Cain’s eyes widened in surprise as he observed the change.
The original owner of this skill had not experienced such a transformation.
“This is more than a simple improvement due to my Level and energy pool.
It seems I am more attuned to this skill at a spiritual level than its original owner, allowing it to evolve to this next form.” Eager to understand the extent of his newfound power, Cain extended his index finger towards the ground.
As he touched the earth, the blade-like digit sliced through the soil effortlessly as if it were cutting through snow.
The sensation was both exhilarating and terrifying.
But the true power of the ability revealed itself in the next moment.
The initial cut was only the beginning.
From the main incision, the earth split apart with a ferocity that took Cain’s breath away.
The cut extended nearly double its original size, and from it, dozens of cracks radiated outward, spreading the damage in all directions.
The ground seemed to shudder and groan under the assault, chunks of rock and soil flying into the air as the destructive force tore through the landscape.
Cain watched in awe as the area around him was ravaged by the power of his ability.
The sheer extent of the destruction was staggering.
Where once there had been solid ground, there was now a jagged expanse of shattered earth.
Shock and awe appeared on Cain’s face as he saw the level of destruction he could generate with the Innate Ability.
This enhanced severing force was better than the Crown Prince’s Depravity Weapon, and it reached the power of Angar’s Deathbringer Rune, which was a World Treasure!
Cain showed a radiant smile full of thrill as he felt his power growing.
He began to meditate, replenishing his energy pool and stamina, when suddenly, a flash of coldness appeared in his eyes.
The reason for the coldness that suddenly arose in Cain’s eyes was that he detected a presence.
It was very feeble and vanished the next second, but he knew it had not faded.
‘Who is it?
A new assassin sent by Oliver?
A hidden member of the Dark Brotherhood?

Someone from the traitors?’ All sorts of questions began to arise in Cain’s mind as he attempted to figure out the person’s identity, but he threw all those thoughts away the next second.
It did not matter who it was; their intentions were not good, and he needed to take care of them.
Cain felt his instincts screaming danger and knew very well that the only thing that could provoke such a harsh reaction was a Legend.
‘Whoever it is, they are very powerful and only broke their focus due to the use of Ripper Touch.
I could use the communication artifact to inform the people of Bravos, but that would be the same as revealing I know of its presence and provoking an all-out attack.’ Cain’s mind worked faster and faster as he attempted to find a way out of this danger.
He discarded the idea of trying to contact the Grand Citadel of Bravos, and a new plan appeared in his mind.
It was extremely dangerous but could allow him to do much more than just survive.
Minutes began to pass, and Cain did not break his meditative stance, using the Eye of Gluttony to replenish his energy reserves and rest as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
After eight minutes, he rose from the ground and picked up Sky Breaker before gazing at the air as if ready to go back into the sky to continue his training.
However, a dark breeze reached his back before Cain could resume his flight.
Without warning, a figure covered in a dark robe appeared, extending his right hand forward.
Cain’s eyes widened in fear and dread as he felt a finger touch his back.
His entire body froze, and he could not move as if a power beyond measure had taken hold of him.
“Decay Finger!” The dark-robed figure spoke in a guttural tone without any mercy.
The next second, the area around the index finger rotted at such a shocking speed that in less than a second, a massive hole full of rotten flesh appeared in the center of Cain’s chest.
The decay spread like wildfire, flesh blackening and disintegrating into ash.
The smell of death and corruption filled the air, and the light in his eyes began to fade.
A triumphant smile appeared on the dark-robed figure’s face as he witnessed the devastation of his attack.
But then, confusion and suspicion crept in.
He had killed thousands of people, and this was definitely not how taking a life felt.
“Crack!” It was at that point that the world around the dark-robed figure seemed to shatter like glass, revealing nothing in front of him.
His eyes widened with shock and disbelief.
“This is an illusion!” Unfortunately for the dark-robed figure, his realization came too late.
As he turned to comprehend the situation, the man he thought perished a second ago appeared beside him, swinging a massive bastard sword directly toward his face with all the force and precision he could muster.
