The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1018
Chapter 1018: Legendary Lich Chapter 1018: Legendary Lich Cain’s eyes were full of killing intent as he swung Sky Breaker down toward the man in the dark robe.
He had used every single second as the man crawled toward him to enhance his energy pool, and as he felt the attack was imminent, he rose from the ground and took the bastard sword.
The moment the finger was about to touch his back, Cain activated one of the Innate Abilities he stole from the member of the Dark Brotherhood, the one that could form an illusion, Falsehood Mirror.
He managed to project an illusion that tricked the Legend, allowing him to dodge the blow and place himself on the right side of the Legend.
Falsehood Mirror could place a Sky Lord in an illusion for almost a minute, yet it only lasted less than three seconds on a Legend, proving just how formidable the spirit defenses of this figure were.
Yet, those three seconds were enough for Cain to position himself and raise Sky Breaker.
As the bastard sword made of meteorite descended, Cain not only allowed Sky Breaker to return to its normal weight but used Weight Manipulation to enhance it.
That would certainly increase the recoil damage, but he only cared about maximizing its destructive power, which was why he also activated Ripper Touch, allowing the dark metallic force to cover his hand and weapon.
“Die!” Cain roared, his voice a thunderclap as he swung Sky Breaker down with all his might.
The air itself seemed to scream as the sword fell, a vendaval of raw power that cleaved through the air toward the Legend’s head.
The strike was relentless, aimed with deadly precision to obliterate the Legend’s skull.
No skill, ability, or power could save a Legend without a brain.
The Legend, covered in the dark robe, was still trying to understand how the man managed to not only perceive his presence but also trick him into an illusion and send that devastating attack.
However, while he was shocked, his years of battle and life-and-death experiences kicked in, allowing him to act.
“Hmph!” The Legend sneered as a force field of necrotic energy emerged, covering his body, enhanced by the runic lines that covered his dark robe.
Although he did not have time to trigger another offensive attack after that Decay Touch, defensive spells were something all Mages had ready to activate at all times with a single thought.
‘I just need to block the bastard sword, and then a single spell would be enough,’ that thought crossed the mind of the figure as a cold and vicious smile appeared on his face.
Yet, the next second, something shocking happened.
Sky Breaker’s brute power was formidable but not enough to break through a Legendary defensive spell, yet the moment the bastard sword touched the energy barrier, that necrotic force field that could resist the blow of a nuclear weapon began to disintegrate!
“Impossible!” The Legend could not help but shout in shock as he could not believe that a single swing from the bastard sword could break a defensive spell.
But what he did not know was the spell-breaking power of Sky Breaker, and now it was too late.
Although Sky Breaker destroyed the necrotic barrier nearly instantly, it still endured a fraction of a second, not enough for the Legend to dodge it, but enough to move his body to the side, allowing the sword to cut the right side of his body rather than his head.
Immediately, agony appeared in the Legend as the massive bastard sword left an enormous cut on his body before sending him flying away while puking dark blood!
A cold smile appeared on Cain’s face as he saw the effect of his attack.
The damage would be enough to allow him to rise to the sky and fly to Bravos, letting him escape from the Legend, but it was at this point that a meaningful light appeared in his eyes.
‘If I run now, I will be safe, but is that really enough?
This world is full of dangerous people, many much more powerful than this person.
My goal in the Crimson World is to devour and grow, not to rely on the power of others and hide.
I need to win on my own!’ It took less than a second for all those thoughts to cross Cain’s mind.
Without hesitation, Cain channeled the Innate Ability that imbued his body with wind to improve his speed, Air Speed, and flashed forward, not toward Bravos but at the Legend that attempted to kill him!

The Legend regained control over his body after being blasted for over five thousand meters, shattering many boulders and even mountains in his path.
The wound on his chest was severe, but thanks to his unique constitution, he would be fine, which made seeing the young man fly toward him all the more enraging.
“Little ant, you think…” The Legend was not able to finish his sentence.
The wound on the right side of his chest seemed to tremble, and to his shock, it expanded, growing nearly twice its size and extending cracks in all directions!
The wound grew so massive that it destroyed the shoulder, crippling the right arm, and it was not just the flesh that shattered but also the equipment.
The dark magic robe that covered the man was the first to shatter due to the power of Ripper Touch, revealing a gaunt, skeletal body with withered flesh stretched tight across horribly visible bones.
Cain’s eyes widened as he saw that the Legend who wanted to kill him was a Lich, a very powerful type of Legendary Class that reigned over the Lynch Kingdom.
Lichs lacked vital organs, and other than their brain, which held their True Soul, no attack could kill them.
It was now clear who wanted to take his life, but that did not change anything as Cain continued bursting forward, the power of Ripper Touch charging through Sky Breaker with all his might.
