The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1019
Chapter 1019: Caught in hellfire Chapter 1019: Caught in hellfire Cain’s eyes gleamed with deadly resolve as he hurtled through the air toward the Lich.
The power of Ripper Touch coursed through Sky Breaker, the bastard sword shimmering with dark, metallic energy.
The pain from those horrible wounds still caused paralyzing agony in the Lich, now fully revealed in his skeletal form.
If he had an average Mage’s body, he would have failed to even move, but thanks to his undead constitution, he could amass a small amount of his energy and summon a storm of necrotic energy.
“Go away, you disgusting ant!” the Legendary Lich shouted, black lightning crackling around him, forming a deadly web that extended in all directions.
Even though it was a hasty spell that barely contained a fraction of the Lich’s full power, Cain knew that any of those arcs of black lightning could cut his flesh and scorch his body.
However, he was also aware that if he allowed even a second of rest, the Legend would harness his true power, and the battle would be lost before it even started.
Determination and coldness arose in Cain’s eyes as he pushed Air Speed to the limit while an Energy Barrier came into play.
His movements were a blur as he dodged most of the lethal arcs of black lightning, and the sky-blue energy barrier blocked those he could not avoid.
The Legendary Lich could not believe what he was seeing.
Never did he imagine that a Sky Lord could survive his Death Lightning Web.
The sky-blue energy barrier did not last long and shattered, but by then, the young man was already in front of him, swinging Sky Breaker down with all his might.
A new barrier of dark magic arose around the Lich, but this was even weaker than before.
Sky Breaker easily smashed through it, the force of the blow sending shockwaves through the air.
Yet before the bastard sword could touch him, the Lich released a small burst of necrotic energy, not into Cain but himself, pushing him back.
That fast thinking saved him from another massive wound but did not protect him from the air cannon that struck his body point blank, once more sending him flying away while puking even more dark and putrescent blood.
Cain frowned as he saw how the Lich managed to survive one more of his onslaughts but immediately flashed forward, determined not to give the enemy even a second to rest.
Yet, he had advanced less than one hundred meters when the ground beneath him began to shatter, and a massive bone spike the size of a building emerged.
“Death Impalement!” The Lich’s voice echoed across the mountain range as he triggered that spell.
His body was still mid-air, and the wounds on his body were riddling him, but by consuming his life force, he managed to unleash that powerful spell.
Cain’s eyes widened as he saw the bone spike pillar coated in poison.
He had seconds to act.
His energy burst, and he activated Shadow Forge, summoning shields of shadows that intercepted the spike and absorbed its impact.
Each of those shields could resist the power of a Sky Master’s spell without a problem, yet they shattered like wooden tables under the immense power of the bone spike.
Its tip appeared in front of Cain in less than a second, ready to pierce him.
Luckily for Cain, those shadow shields gave him the time to raise Sky Breaker and swing it down with all his power, striking the bone spike before it could impale him.
“BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!” A massive explosion took place as the bastard sword clashed with the bone spike, engulfing Cain’s figure and the surroundings in necrotic energy.
Yet, before the Lich could get too happy, a whip of shadow emerged from the blast, lashing out with blinding speed.
The shadow whip wrapped around the Lich’s bony leg, and with a fierce tug, he was pulled toward the blast in the sky just as Cain emerged from it.
There were severe wounds around Cain’s figure, yet his eyes were cold and full of killing intent as always.

He flashed toward the Legendary Lich and swung Sky Breaker again, the blade cleaving through the air with a sound like thunder.
The last spell had generated a severe backlash in the Legendary Lich’s energy pool, so another spell, even a mild one, was impossible.
The only thing he managed to do was twist his body at the last moment, avoiding a fatal blow.
However, the sword still carved a deep gash into his ribs before sending his figure crashing into the ground, burying himself hundreds of meters into the mountain range.
Cain had to rest for a second after that attack since taking down the bone spike pillar took all his strength, and the blow made his internal organs tremble.
As soon as his blood flow returned to normal, he prepared to dive down, yet his eyes widened as he pushed Air Speed to the limit and rose to the sky.
“Hellfire!” The Lich’s furious voice echoed just a second later, and a torrent of hellish blaze emerged from the crack in the ground, destroying everything around as a sea of dark flames ascended.
With lightning reflexes, Cain used Air Speed to dart upward, but the inferno still caught him.
The flames scorched his skin, but before the damage reached critical levels, he summoned another Energy Barrier.
That protection was enough for him to break beyond the Hellfire Legendary Spell, rising into the air.
Severe burn wounds marred Cain’s body, yet his eyes remained sharp and focused.
Without hesitation, he formed another shadow whip, using it to latch onto a nearby mountain.
The whip of shadow wrapped around the jagged peak, and with a powerful yank, Cain propelled himself with incredible speed.
As the shadow whip retracted, Cain felt the force of the momentum building.
He swung around the mountain like a pendulum, his body a blur against the rocky backdrop.
The wind roared in his ears, and his muscles strained as he directed the whip to release at just the right moment.
Cain’s trajectory changed sharply, sending him hurtling toward the ground with monstrous momentum.
He aimed for the core of the explosion, diving toward the Lich’s position from the side.
His figure cut through the air like a missile, and Sky Breaker gleamed with dark energy, ready to unleash its devastating power.
