Chapter 1036: Consuming Lamerto Chapter 1036: Consuming Lamerto Lord Commander Sarukan and Cain glanced at each other for some time before the leader of the military force of the Trinity Kingdom finally spoke with a smile.

What do you wish for?” Sarukan knew that Cain did not have true loyalty or fidelity to the Trinity Kingdom, and he did not blame the young man for that.

He would not ask the young man to be loyal and was happy as long as he continued killing people from the Lynch Kingdom.  Of course, Lord Commander Sarukan was not forced to reward Cain and could wait until the end of the war, but the young man might then only do the bare minimum in the upcoming fights, which would be a huge loss.

Cain smiled, happy to see they had reached an agreement without any need for pleasantries, so he was also direct with the leader of the Trinity Kingdom’s forces.

“I only want two things.

The first is a treasure that can nurture my soul, improving its purity and power.” Sarukan immediately nodded.

Cain’s goal was to become a Legend, and the soul was a core part of awakening the True Name.

“There is a treasure like that in the citadel.

Many Sky Lords want it but none of them killed a Legend, so you have the right to take it.

If the young man could obtain the memories of Lamerto, Sarukan would gladly agree to the request, but that doesn’t seem to be possible anymore.

Allowing Cain to devour Lamerto would mean losing a Peak Dark Seed Legend’s hostage that could be of use in the future.

“If I manage to fully absorb his soul and vitality, I should have all I need to finish the crystallization of my Spirit Force.” Lord Commander Sarukan nodded and then signaled for Cain to follow him.

He was making a tactical decision, betting that a fully crystallized Cain would provide more help in the war than a Legend hostage.

It did not take long for the duo to reach the dungeons, where Archduke Halbinder was already waiting for them.

Archduke Halbinder’s face was pale, and his energy was in disarray.

It was clear that he was still reeling from the backlash of using that potion.

However, the man was more than happy with his choice since he managed to kill 2 Legends of the Lynch Kingdom before the naval battle was over.

Unlike the first time they saw each other, Cain and Archduke Halbinder showed mutual respect and performed solemn nods toward each other.
