The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1040
Chapter 1040: One vs twenty Chapter 1040: One vs twenty Cain’s eyes widened for a moment as he was surprised by the might of the explosions.
‘They charged each ship with as many explosives as possible and hid their presence with powerful magic.
Impressive.’ A smile arose on Cain’s face as he saw the effect of that explosion.
While the loss of three warships and the footsoldiers in it was not a crippling blow for the Lynch Kingdom, what really mattered was that in the first seconds of the coastal battle, the Trinity Kingdom had already delivered the first major blow.
It was easy to see by the expressions of delight and wide smiles on the faces of the soldiers of the Trinity Kingdom just how important this small victory was for their morale. Morale was extremely important in war, especially when hundreds of thousands of soldiers were fighting on the ground.
They knew that their chances of survival were not high, but the idea that they could help push this war toward victory was enough to fill their hearts with the will and desire to risk it all.
Cain softly nodded as he saw the willpower and resolution in the warriors of the Trinity Kingdom.
He then pushed everything else out of his mind and focused once more on the enemies in the sky.
The explosions had frozen the battlefield, but it immediately reigned with those from the Trinity Kingdom full of vigor and the invaders from the Lynch Kingdom full of rage.
A barrage of spells from every direction blasted toward Cain, as the twenty Sky Lords that targeted him were determined to end his life.
In the minds of the Sky Lords of the Lynch Kingdom, killing such a young genius would break the momentum of the Trinity Kingdom’s forces and greatly improve the condition of their battlefield.
Cain knew what crossed their minds, but he couldn’t care less, as he charged lightning and fire into Sky Breaker and rotated his entire body, generating a halo that discharged a massive amount of energy in all directions, countering the barrage of spells.
The Sky Lords could not help but clench their fists with rage as they saw how Cain could trigger immensely powerful spells extremely fast.
Those that managed to reach the young man were blocked by shadow shields that appeared in less than a nanosecond.
Immediately after blocking the barrage, Cain rose higher and fired massive arcs of lightning and flames toward the enemies.
Each spell had the full power of a Peak Sky Lord’s spell, and he was able to release them nearly instantly.
Cain’s eyes glowed with coldness as he saw how fast he could unleash powerful attacks and summon his Innate Abilities with Fast Spellcasting.
Yet, he did not grow distracted.
The moment the Sky Lords’ cohesion broke to evade his attack, he made his move, flashing forward enhanced by lightning and Air Speed, while hiding his form with Shadow Body.
A Sky Lord from the Lynch Kingdom wielding a massive hammer was able to counter the arc of fire and lightning, using all his strength.
His hands trembled but a smile appeared on his face as he saw he could shatter the enemy’s spell.
However, the hammer-wielding Sky Lord’s smile did not last long as a hand covered in lightning arcs pierced his back.
Before he could even scream, a burst of gray flames emerged from the hand, consuming his entire body and reaching all the way to his energy pool.
Another Sky Lord close to the hammer-wielding man was shocked to see Cain appear out of nowhere.
However, he was not paralyzed with fear and coldness appeared in his eyes as he raised his hands and began to charge a beam of light.
Cain barely glanced at the Sky Lord mage and simply raised Sky Breaker using his free hand before swinging the weapon down.
The mage sneered, confident his defenses would endure until he fired his attack.
Unfortunately for him, what came was not a spell, but an air cannon with so much power that it shattered all his energy defenses, before reaching his body, breaking his bones and sending him flying away.
The air cannon of Sky Breaker was still Cain’s most powerful long-range attack, but it took too long to send as it required wielding the bastard sword back to its original weight.
After sending the mage flying away and quickly devouring the hammer-wielding warrior, Cain immediately made his energy explode and rose higher, avoiding the piercing attack from two Sky Lords, one wielding a spear and the other a sword.

Solemn and grim expressions appeared on the duo as they saw how easily Cain dodged their attack.
They had made sure to activate their abilities to hide their presence, but the young man seemed to have perceived them from miles away.
The duo’s silent attack was actually very powerful but after fully crystallizing his Spirit Force, the life-detecting ability of the Eye of Gluttony grew much more powerful.
However, the duo did not really have time to think of all that, since Cain barely rose a few hundred meters after dodging their attack before falling down with Sky Breaker, unleashing the full power of the bastard sword.
The spearman and swordsman’s eyes widened as they saw the bastard sword falling like a comet.
It came too fast and the only thing they had time to do was put their weapons together as they attempted to fight back.
“BOOOOOMMMMM!” An explosion took place as the bastard sword clashed with the weapons of the two Sky Lords, shattering them and sending the duo flying away with dire wounds all over their bodies.
Cain was ready to flash after the duo and consume them, but he was not so lucky as he saw several Sky Lords flashing toward him from behind.
The barrage of arcs of lightning and fire had bought him some time, but that was over and they once more grouped and fought against him as a whole.
‘One consumed, three wounded.
Not bad,’ Cain was satisfied with the outcome of the clash, and once more he began to counter and dodge the barrage of spells and attacks coming from the more than a dozen Sky Lords that chased after him like hounds.
