The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1045
Chapter 1045: No man’s land Chapter 1045: No man’s land Of course, consuming your soul force was something no one would do as it would not only be extremely painful, but it would also weaken you tremendously and cripple your cultivation.
Cain assumed that the mummified Legend should have used a way to trap the souls and used them as a catalyst for the Legendary Innate Ability so he would not have to use his own soul force.
‘I wonder if I could use my gray flames.
They consume souls, so it should be useful.’ A wistful light appeared in Cain’s eyes as he concentrated on his energy pool.
The Legendary Innate Ability of the mummified spellcaster was unlike those of Lamerto or the demonic dragonborn.
It did not have a massive effect or range, so it could be used without anyone noticing, giving Cain the perfect chance to prove the effect summoning those powers would have.
Cain’s eyes showed absolute focus as he extended his right hand and prepared to channel a spell.
It would be a simple and weak fireball, utilizing the Soul Combustion Legendary Innate Ability.
As soon as Cain triggered the Legendary Innate Ability, he felt his mind trembling and a ringing echoing in his ears.
It felt as if he had just lifted an extremely heavy weight, pushing his body beyond its limits.
Luckily it did not last long, and the next second, a stream of gray flames that surrounded his energy pool was consumed, generating a massive blue fireball in his hand.
Just as he expected, it was 50% more powerful than what he could have conjured using normal energy.
Cain showed a small smile as he gazed at the fireball, but soon a frown appeared on his face as he dispersed it.
‘That Legendary Innate Ability was just a spell power-up and nearly paralyzed my mind.
If I were to summon the darkness dragon or trigger the dragon metamorphosis, would the stress on my soul and Spirit Force knock me unconscious?’ It was now clear to Cain that using the Legendary Innate Abilities without a True Name and the soul force of a Legend would be extremely dangerous, especially during a battle where a second would be more than enough for an enemy to take his life.
Although being unable to use the Legendary Innate Abilities until he awakened his True Name was disappointing, Cain did not dwell on it too much.
His current battle power allowed him to sneak up on Legends and keep his life while fighting dozens of Sky Lords, so it was good enough.
Especially since the day of his ascension was approaching very fast.
Not wanting to waste any more time, Cain left his residence and rose to the sky.
He gazed at the Flesh Tower with the Eye of Gluttony and could feel the bursting energy rising inside it. ‘Luckily, I already put the matrices in the coastal zone, so there is no need for me to dwell in that terrain.’ Cain’s eyes scanned the three points where he placed his matrices and made sure they were intact before turning his eyes to the center of Bravos.
Silently, Cain descended to the ground and began to look around.
The streets were empty as the number of soldiers had reduced significantly and they were all focusing their time on healing, making Cain go unnoticed as he channeled his energy and gray flames for over five hours into the ground.
The matrix in the center of Bravos took much more time and energy than those in the shore.
Cain then flew to a point in the southwest of Bravos and proceeded to send his energy and gray flames into the ground for just an hour before finally going to the southeast and repeating the process.
Once all six matrices were completed, Cain finally relaxed.
‘All the steps for the ritual are complete.
I just need to wait.’ Cain then rose to the sky and adopted a meditative position as he began to circulate his energy.
His cultivation base had reached its limit, so he just focused on being at peak condition for when the battle resumed.
And he did not have to wait for long since two days later, he opened his eyes and gazed toward the coast with a somber expression on his face.
The Flesh Tower of the Lynch Kingdom, where all the Legends had gathered, began to glow ominously.

Pulses of necrotic energy emanated from it, growing more intense with each passing moment.
The air grew heavy with the scent of decay and death as a massive force field emerged and began to expand.
The necrotic force field radiated a sickly green hue, pulsating with dark energy that seemed to corrupt everything in its path.
It expanded beyond the coast, creeping towards the center of Bravos with an insidious determination.
The ground it touched blackened and withered, plants shriveling and dying instantly, the very air around it becoming thick and oppressive.
Cain’s eyes narrowed, and he frowned as he felt the power within the necrotic force field.
It was potent enough to cover all of Bravos, capable of crippling anyone below Level 18 and even sapping the strength of Sky Masters and Sky Lords.
Luckily for the forces of the Trinity Kingdom, before the Flesh Tower’s necrotic force field could reach them, the Grand Citadel glowed with a divine and pure light.
A majestic radiance burst forth, pushing back against the encroaching darkness.
“BOOOOOOMMMMM!” The holy radiance clashed with the necrotic force field in a thunderous explosion.
The air crackled with energy as the two forces battled for dominance.
The golden light and the sickly green energy writhed and twisted against each other, neither able to gain the upper hand. Where they met, a chaotic gray field formed, a swirling vortex where neither the holy power nor the necrotic force could reign.
This land was a turbulent zone of energy, unpredictable and dangerous, with flashes of light and darkness flickering within it.
‘No man’s land,’ Cain thought, observing the massive, chaotic area between the holy radiance and the necrotic force field.
As if to confirm his thoughts, the Legends of the Lynch Kingdom and the Trinity Kingdom soon emerged from their strongholds.
