The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1060
Chapter 1060: Leaving Trinity Island (I) Chapter 1060: Leaving Trinity Island (I) As the soldiers cheered and cried at the end of the war, there was one man among the forces of the Trinity Kingdom who kept his composure: the Legendary ice mage, Archduke Halbinder.
The man’s eyes were sharp as he gazed at what remained of the forces of the Lynch Kingdom, leaving through the Sea of Wonders, before turning his eyes back to the shore, gazing at the young man in dragon form atop the Flesh Tower.
Soon, the rest of the Legends of the Trinity Kingdom followed Archduke Halbinder’s gaze, and the full power of their auras focused on Cain, their eyes sharp, many showing coldness.
Now that they had taken care of the forces of the Lynch Kingdom, it was finally time to handle their emotions regarding the man who devoured the souls of their fallen friends and comrades.
Cain noticed their gazes and could feel the animosity in many, but he just smiled.
Fighting more than a dozen Legends was simply too much for him.
However, he was at his peak, his body and energy at full power, while the Trinity Kingdom’s Legends were exhausted, so he could easily escape if they tried something.
“Everybody, back to Bravos.
Go and help the wounded.
Many can be saved if we hurry!” Before the tension could rise any higher, Archduke Halbinder’s words echoed, drawing the attention of the Legends and everybody else to a different task.
Some of the Legends could not help but frown as they heard that.
They wanted satisfying answers from Cain, something that could explain why he did something so cruel, but upon seeing the sharpness and seriousness in Archduke Halbinder’s eyes, they all nodded and flew back to Bravos’s center.
Archduke Halbinder ensured that all the forces of the Trinity Kingdom were deep into Bravos before flying toward Cain, who was still devouring the Flesh Tower.
He hovered in the air, observing the young man with a mixture of awe and wariness.
After a moment, he broke the silence.
“What are your plans now?” Cain met the archduke’s gaze, sensing the conflicted emotions swirling within the Legendary ice mage.
He understood the turmoil.
To the Trinity Kingdom, he was both a hero, a monster, and an enigma.
But Cain felt no regret for his actions.
Those he consumed were already lost to this world, and in his eyes, he had repaid his debt to the kingdom.
The ritual might have been cruel, but it was necessary for his growth.
“This island is too small for me,” Cain replied, glancing toward the horizon with eyes full of eager anticipation.
“I plan to leave for the South Coast.
I’ll need a map of the Sea of Wonders to guide me.
After that, I’ll be on my way.” Trinity Island was very similar to Aether in many ways, but Cain wanted more.
He wanted to see the place where the true mighty powerhouses lived, where creatures capable of eclipsing the void resided, as only a place like that could allow him to reach his true potential.
Archduke Halbinder’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
He understood Cain’s ambition and the desire to seek new horizons.
Without a word, he retrieved a book from his space ring and handed it to Cain.
“This is a compendium of the Sea of Wonders.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
It details the routes and passages, the locations of most islands in the quadrant, and, most importantly, a path to the South Coast.” Cain accepted the book, his smile widening.
“You’re eager to see me gone, aren’t you?” He laughed, appreciating the archduke’s forthrightness and the value of the gift.
Halbinder sighed a weary sound that carried the weight of recent events.
“You did help us save the Trinity Kingdom, but it was for your own ambitions.
The methods you used…
Many will struggle to reconcile with them.
It’s best for everyone if you leave.
It will bring peace to those who can’t accept what happened.” Cain nodded, acknowledging the truth in Halbinder’s words.
“I understand.
And I will leave.” He hesitated, pondering whether to continue before deciding to address an unresolved issue.
“By the way, your son sent someone to kill me on my first day in the Saint Trinity Realm.” The revelation struck Halbinder like a blow, his eyes widening in shock and a hint of panic.
Cain’s reputation left little room for mercy, and the archduke feared what this meant for his son.
Determination flickered in his eyes as his energy began to rise, preparing for the worst.
Although Archduke Halbinder knew that his chances of surviving a direct clash with the young man were close to zero, there was nothing he would not do to protect his son’s life.
Cain raised a hand, signaling for calm.
“Relax.
You helped me during Morkon’s chase, so I’ll let it go.” He paused, then continued in a telepathic whisper, his voice echoing in Halbinder’s mind.
“But others might not be so forgiving when they learn of his role in the malfunction of the Grand Citadel.” “Impossible!
My son cannot be a traitor!” Halbinder’s voice trembled with disbelief.
He had just started to breathe easy, relieved that Cain wouldn’t pursue Oliver, only to be blindsided by the implication of his son’s involvement in the Citadel’s failure.
Cain nodded sympathetically.
“He’s not a traitor, just a greedy fool.
The real traitors used his clearance to access the Grand Citadel.” Grand Lich Morkon was paranoid and a control freak, who could not let any part of the invasion out of his range.
He constantly received feedback and news of the moves made inside the Trinity Kingdom from his Legendary Lich spy, which was how he knew the names and faces of all the traitors.
And now all that information was inside Cain’s mind.
“These are the faces and names of the true traitors, the ones plotting with the forces of the Lynch Kingdom, actively helping the invasion.” Cain’s eyes glowed and the next second, waves of soul force carrying images reached Archduke Halbinder’s mind.
