If possible, he would have just killed the other parties and been done with it.

That approach might sound somewhat extreme, but the Power of Order made it easy for Cain to make those types of decisions, and if someone became a problem, it was better to erase them.

Of course, that was not an approach Cain could take in a place like this.

He took a deep breath, gathered his resolve, and placed a bid that would command attention.

“Ten thousand five hundred spirit coins!” Cain placed the bid in the interface and saw how the number appeared on the large screen.

The declaration sent a ripple of reaction throughout the room.

The Legends paused, recalibrating their strategies in the face of Cain’s bold move.

The holographic display glowed with the updated bid, and the auctioneer’s eyes shone with approval.

For a moment, the hall was silent, the intensity of the competition palpable.

Cain was aware that he had reached the upper limit of what he could spend unless he wanted to be drained and not participate in the following bids.

There was nothing he could do but wait now.

And the Middle-Grade Legendary Lich Robe fetched the attention of even powerful Legends.  Cain watched with mild interest as his items were auctioned off, the numbers rising steadily before each item was claimed by the highest bidder.

While not as exhilarating as bidding for the Dragon’s Heart Core, he was happy to see the new wave of wealth reaching his pockets.

Once his items had been sold, Cain’s attention waned slightly.

The subsequent offerings, though valuable, did not pique his interest as much.

Some may hold untold treasures, while others might be little more than curiosities.” The concept of such an auction segment captivated the audience, offering a tantalizing mix of risk and reward.

Cain’s interest was piqued as he considered the possibilities.

It was a small, round obsidian orb, its surface adorned with cryptic dark purple runes that contained a chaotic will.  Cain only glanced at the orb for a moment, and while its aura was indeed alluring, it was not that impressive.

Yet, the next instant, the pupil in the Eye of Gluttony narrowed, erasing everything else from its view other than the orb.

A feeling of hunger and desire like nothing before assaulted Cain, flooding his entire existence.

The drive did not come just from the Eye of Gluttony but from the core of his identity, as his True Name thrummed and trembled, urging him to obtain that orb regardless of the price.

‘What is happening?

What is that orb?’ Cain could not understand the reason for the drive.

His soul force perceived the aura of the orb but detected nothing special, yet his Eye of Gluttony and True Name, the most mysterious parts of his existence, thrummed with unyielding desire.

“The Abyssal Core,” Richard announced, his voice carrying a hint of mystique as he drew the attention of everybody in the hall.

“Believed to be an artifact from a lost civilization, its purpose remains unknown.

Some say it holds a secret waiting to be unlocked, while others consider it merely a relic of the past.”
