The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1076
Chapter 1076: Bid for the Abyssal Core (II) Chapter 1076: Bid for the Abyssal Core (II) “12,000 spirit coins,” Cain bid, the numbers flashing across the screens, and the room fell silent, everyone holding their breath in anticipation of the next move.
Once again, the Celestial Thrones countered, this time with a bid of 13,000 spirit coins.
The stakes were higher than ever, and the intensity of the situation was not lost on the other Legends, who gazed at the Abyssal Core with wonder. Cain remained unshaken, aware that he had reached a critical juncture.
It was clear by now that the other party would not simply back down, but he was determined to obtain the obsidian orb.
With unwavering resolve, Cain placed his next bid at 14,000 spirit coins.
The auction hall buzzed with excitement, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. The entity from the Celestial Thrones did not hesitate for a second before increasing their bid to 15,000 spirit coins.
As the numbers appeared on the screen, a young voice echoed from one of the Celestial Thrones, “House Arken has marked that orb.
Everybody should know their place!” The outburst was a clear breach of the auction’s rules, yet its subtlety kept it within the bounds of what could be tolerated.
Richard, the auctioneer, maintained a neutral expression, choosing not to intervene.
Things would have been different if it was someone in the regular seat or even a Legend, but to those of the Celestial Thrones, the Millennium Auction House was prepared to turn a blind eye rather than antagonize them.
Cain was not surprised by the indifference from Richard, as it was clear that rules did not apply to everybody, but he did not care.
His expression hardened, his resolve only strengthening in the face of threats.
He had faced a world invasion led by an alien race that could change the Laws of existence, so how could a family from an organization that barely had Void Eclipse Legends could deter him?
“15,500 spirit coins,” Cain sent the information to his interface, his eyes cold as he was reaching his limit. The room was silent once more and shock appeared on the face of many as they saw that the other party showed no deterrence at all upon hearing the name of House Arken.
From the Celestial Thrones, the young voice spoke again, this time with a tone of rage, “16,000 spirit coins.” He did not bother placing the bid the normal way anymore, trying to use his aura to silence the opponent.
Cain couldn’t care less about the man’s domineering moves as they resembled nothing but child’s play in his eyes as he placed a new bid of 16,500 spirit stones through the interface panel.
“YOU!” The rage in the voice from the Celestial Throne seemed to reach a zenith, but it stopped for a second.
Silence reigned for a few minutes as it seemed he had given up only for the price on the main stage to rise to a staggering 20,000 spirit stones.
Cain clenched his fists as he saw that number above the Abyssal Core.
Silence and cold killing intent arose in his eyes as he saw the moves of the other side.
Just as he was about to make his next move, he noticed how the door to his pod opened.
‘An assassin?’ That was the first thought that crossed Cain’s mind, but as he turned around, he realized that the one entering was Nora, the same young woman who helped him with his auction entries when he first arrived at the auction house.
“A refreshment, Sir,” Nora spoke as she placed the cup with a rich and fragrant golden liquid next to Cain. Cain glanced at the woman who smiled calmly.
It was not odd to receive this type of beverage at an event like this, and according to the reputation of the Millennium Auction House, there was nothing to worry about.
“You can leave.” Cain took the cup and drank a small sip, as he dispatched Nora, who bowed and silently left.
It was only after Nora left the room that a wave of scarlet fire emerged from Cain’s mouth.
There was no way he would drink a substance minutes after enraging a powerful member of an ancient force.
Every iota of the golden liquid that reached his mouth was immediately incinerated by Scarlet Reaper.
And now that he was alone, the Eye of Gluttony focused on the cup and consumed a small stream of its content.
While the Eye of Gluttony did not have scanning force, it could give Cain a sense of anything it devoured.

It did not take long for a cold flash to arise in Cain’s eyes along with a sneer full of disdain.
‘Hmph, Millennium Auction House, known for its privacy and following rules, what a joke.’ What Cain found in the liquid was not poison, but a strange compound that seemed to give off a form of unique radiation.
It would not harm him but would make it very easy for people to track him down. It did not take a genius to understand that the man from House Arken managed to figure out he was the one that bid against him for the Abyssal Core.
After that, he made Nora bring him a cup of liquid that could be used to track him down once the auction was over.
The young man couldn’t do all this without the assistance of the Millennium Auction House.
Although it infuriated him and made him want to kill and devour everybody involved, a meaningful light appeared in Cain’s eyes as an idea began to arise.
Since the other party went to so much trouble, they would not rest until they saw him dead.
‘I am currently at the limit of my funds, so I guess I will have to obtain it the other way.’ As that thought crossed his mind and a plan was put in motion, Cain drank the entire golden liquid, allowing it to spread across his body.
