The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1090
Chapter 1090: Aurelius Arken Chapter 1090: Aurelius Arken Cain sighed, irritated but refusing to give in to his frustration.
The Abyssal Core had forced its way into his heart, and even if it might eventually prove beneficial, the fact that it had imposed itself on him infuriated him.
He was a Master of Order, a man who shaped his own fate, not one to allow his path to be dictated by external forces.
Throwing a tantrum wouldn’t change anything so Cain took a deep breath and calmed himself.
Knowledge and power were the keys to this problem.
If he increased his strength and understanding, he would be able to discern the true nature of the Abyssal Core and, more importantly, know what to do about it.
‘I can do nothing about the core now, so I should focus on more pressing matters.’ Cain turned his attention back to Astor, the unconscious young man lying before him, still oblivious to the fate that awaited him.
It was time to deal with the boy who had dared to ambush him and attempt to steal from him. Without hesitation, Cain extended his right hand, unleashing a barrage of scarlet flames aimed directly at Astor.
The flames were infused with Reaper’s Touch, their heat intense enough to consume the young lord’s entire existence in mere seconds.
However, just as the flames were about to reach their target, a sudden burst of sky-blue and golden energy erupted from Astor’s body.
The energy formed a protective barrier that repelled Cain’s flames, sending them scattering harmlessly to the side.
Cain’s eyes widened in shock.
His flames had been deflected so effortlessly.
His mind immediately went on high alert, scanning the area for any intruders as he covered his figure and aura in shadows. Cain’s soul force burst with power, scanning every inch of the caverns, but there was no one.
He detected no hidden enemy lurking in the shadows.
It took a moment, but Cain soon realized the truth.
The sky-blue and golden energy that had repelled his flames wasn’t from some external force.
It was emanating from Astor himself.
More than that, it wasn’t a conscious defense.
Someone left it inside the young man, so it would activate in case his life was in true danger. “Interesting,” Cain muttered, narrowing his eyes.
This protective force was formidable and required a soul force that normal Legends could not achieve. As the golden energy continued to ripple around the unconscious body, something even more extraordinary happened.
The sky-blue and golden energy began to coalesce, morphing into the shape of a young face, glowing with the radiance of a starry sky. The face, although composed of pure energy, carried an aura of ancient power.
Its eyes locked onto Cain, making his heart and soul feel under immense pressure. “Should I assume you are the patriarch of House Arken?” Cain growled, his voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of caution.
He could feel the presence emanating from the face, one with a power much greater than his own.
The energy face didn’t speak but continued to hover over Astor’s body, its sky-blue eyes shimmering with what felt like wisdom and warning, as it searched the surroundings but saw only shadows.
Finally, the sky-blue face spoke, its voice rumbling with authority and power that resonated across the cavern like thunder.
“I am Aurelius Arken, Patriarch of House Arken.
Release Astor now, and there will be no future problems between us,” His words carried the weight of an undeniable command.
It was not a request but an expectation.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he heard the name.

Yet, despite the overwhelming power behind the voice, his expression remained cold and calculating.
“I’ve already killed Astor’s entire entourage,” Cain replied evenly, his voice laced with mockery.
“That includes three Legends.
You tell me, Patriarch Arken, how exactly can you promise that there will be no future problems or animosity between us?” Aurulius’s sky-blue face showed no emotion.
His glowing eyes remained impassive, like the cold light of distant stars.
“Their lives are of no concern to me,” he stated flatly.
“Those Legends were replaceable.
Astor, however, is not.
I care only for his survival, and I promise on the name of House Arken you will face no retribution from me or my family if you release him now.” Cain’s eyes flickered with interest at the coldness in Aurulius’s voice.
He felt honesty behind those words.
The promise, though chilling, was likely true in its own twisted way.
Aurelius wouldn’t care about a few fallen subordinates, but there was one flaw in his proposition.
Cain’s smile grew darker as he spoke, “Even if I were to believe you, Patriarch, there’s still one problem with your offer.” His gaze shifted down to the unconscious Astor, then back to the celestial face above him.
“Astor himself.” Cain’s eyes burned with coldness as he continued, “I know his type.
Spoiled.
Childish.
Filled with petty grudges.
Even if you don’t care, I guarantee your little heir would never forgive what happened here today.
There will always be enmity between us, no matter what promises you make on his behalf.” Aurulius’ expression remained unchanged, but Cain could sense a subtle shift in the light of his eyes as the man knew it was true. Cain took a step forward, his dragonborn form towering as he stared directly into the face of Aurulius’s projection.
His voice became colder, a razor-sharp edge lacing every word.
“So, since he’ll never forgive me, and I’m not in the habit of leaving loose ends…
I’d rather kill him now.” The silence that followed was heavy, the air thick with tension.
Cain’s eyes gleamed with deadly certainty, while the energy surrounding Aurulius’s projection crackled with restrained power.
Aurelius finally responded, his voice still calm but carrying an unmistakable undercurrent of warning.
“Do not be a fool.
You underestimate the consequences of such an action.” Cain sneered.
“Maybe I do.
But I know this much-letting him live would only invite future problems.
I’ve survived on my terms, not by trusting in promises or leaving enemies alive.”
