Chapter 1096: Clash with the Sun Church (I) Chapter 1096: Clash with the Sun Church (I) Cain had pushed himself relentlessly, flying for nearly two weeks without rest after leaving the Hellgaping Belt.

He raced through the Helix Continent mainland in his full dragon form so he could use his stomach to consume all the people he had devoured.  Of course, such a massive body would draw unwanted gazes, but Cain used the Pyramid of Shadows to enter the Shadow Realm and travel undetected, constantly aware that Aurelius Arken might go to any extreme to catch him and might be chasing him at this very moment.

There was no way that Cain could know the Patriarch of House Arken did not dare to leave the South Coast without first learning more about him.

Determined to put as much distance between himself and the South Coast as possible, Cain didn’t allow himself a moment’s peace, his massive dragon wings flapping with the power to create storms.

After fourteen days of ceaseless flight, Cain finally laid eyes on the jagged peaks of the Shattered Peak, a vast and treacherous mountain range hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from the South Coast.

The terrain was unstable and prone to landslides and sudden volcanic eruptions.

Yet the danger also made it rich in treasures, attracting adventurers, treasure hunters, and powerful warriors.  The Shattered Peak, located between the domains of the Tiamat Sect and the Sun Church, remained a neutral zone.

Its volatile environment deterred even the mightiest organizations from claiming it, making it an ideal place for someone like Cain to vanish.

Cain saw the opportunity.

Not even a Level 29 Stellar Abyss Legend like Aurelius Arken could throw his weight around here.

Carefully, Cain descended into one of the more secluded mountains, adopting his dragonborn form as he approached a large, deep cave.

Once inside, he stepped out of the Shadow Realm and let out a long, weary breath.

The strain of constant travel was showing, but his instincts remained sharp.

He used his Shadow Master ability to shroud the cave’s entrance with shadows, masking his presence from anyone nearby.

Finally, Cain allowed himself to rest.

He settled into a meditative position, closing his eyes for the first time in weeks.

The silence of the cave was comforting, and his body instantly began to recuperate.

As his eyes fluttered shut, one final thought crossed his mind-the name he had shouted in the heat of battle at the Hellgaping Belt: Abaddon, the Dragon of Gluttony.

A wistful smile crept onto his lips.

The name had no real meaning; it was just something he uttered on impulse to make his enemies uneasy and keep Aurelius on edge.

Had Cain known the name was already spreading across the South Coast as a new legend, whispered in fear and awe, he might have laughed.

Cain woke after fifteen hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep.

A profound sense of relaxation washed over him as he opened his eyes.

His smile widened as he felt the growth in his power-his Dark Seed had strengthened considerably, though he had yet to reach Level 23.

The constant battles and the immense amount of energy he had absorbed brought him closer to that milestone.  His physical body, hardened by relentless strain, had surpassed his energy pool and reached the peak of the Dark Seed Tier.

Cain knew that his strength would surge even further when he triggered his Dragonform Legendary Innate Ability.

He was ecstatic.

This newfound power was crucial, especially on the unpredictable mainland of the Helix Continent, where threats would dwarf those of the South Coast.

Strength was the only currency that mattered here.

Focusing inward, Cain examined the Dark Seed.

There, floating around his True Name, were dozens of new spheres representing the abilities he had absorbed during the battle at the Hellgaping Belt.

Twenty-seven were Sky Lords’ Innate Abilities, and four were Legendary Innate Abilities.

His cold smile widened as he realized what had started as an ambush had turned into a feast.

Without wasting time, Cain began analyzing the Sky Lords’ Innate Abilities.

He scrutinized each one, probing its power and nature to determine if any were worth the effort and resources required to evolve them into something formidable.

Unfortunately, none of the abilities stood out.

Many were inferior versions of abilities Cain already possessed.

There was no point in holding onto them.

Cold and pragmatic, he summoned the power of Scarlet Reaper, sending forth the scarlet flames to consume the weaker abilities.

As the flames devoured the Sky Lords’ Innate Abilities, streams of golden origin force emerged, and without hesitation, Cain channeled all of it into Dragonform.

A massive amount of energy surged into the sphere, representing his Legendary Innate Ability, Dragonform.

While the energy pushed it forward slightly, it wasn’t enough to trigger the quality evolution he sought.

Cain then turned his attention to the four Legendary Innate Abilities floating around his True Name.

He dove into the memories of their previous owners to fully understand their nature.

Each ability was impressive in its own right, but as Cain analyzed them, he realized none were suited to his current needs.

The first ability, Titan Skin, greatly enhanced the endurance and toughness of the user’s skin, making them nearly impervious to physical attacks.

While it was an excellent defensive asset, Cain’s Dragonform already provided superior protection.

His dragon scales, reinforced by his strength and transformation, made this ability redundant.

The second ability, Concentrated Energy Beam, allowed the user to channel and release a powerful beam of pure energy, either as a precision strike or a wide-area blast.

Though it was impressive, Cain had no need for it.

His dragon breath was far more destructive than any energy beam, especially after integrating the Yin Core and Yang Core.

The third ability, Minor Regeneration, granted a limited healing factor, allowing the user to recover from wounds at an accelerated rate.

However, Cain’s dragon body, coupled with the regenerative properties of his scarlet flames, far outclassed this ability.

Moreover, as Cain’s body grew stronger, the effectiveness of minor regeneration would become negligible.
