Chapter 1169: Escape Chapter 1169: Escape As their fight raged on, Cain marveled at Robert’s ability to keep pace with him.

Even if he hid his most formidable skills, he was still an Ancient Dragon with a body that could crush normal Stellar Abyss Legends to a pulp.  The Sky Lord and Legends could not take their eyes away from the fight.

For every punch Robert threw, Cain’s mastery of shadows allowed him to conjure shields, barriers, and chains to counter.

The more they clashed, the more they tested each other’s limits.

Robert summoned a torrent of lightning from the sky, attempting to strike Cain from above, but Cain’s shadows surged upward, deflecting the attack.

Cain countered by shifting into shadow and appearing above Robert, his claws aimed at the Lightning Knight’s neck.

But Robert was quicker than expected, turning just in time to dodge the killing blow.

He retaliated with a lightning-infused punch, sending Cain flying backward.

Yet, Cain dashed back immediately, vanishing into shadow before launching an attack from an unexpected angle.

“Too slow,” Robert muttered, sidestepping and sending a bolt of lightning in Cain’s direction.

Cain shifted into shadow once again, letting the lightning pass harmlessly through him, but Robert followed up with a backhanded strike, knocking him off balance.

Cain snarled, his shadows lashing out like whips and forming chains to bind Robert’s arms.

For a brief moment, it seemed like the Lightning Knight was caught, but with a surge of energy, Robert shattered the chains, lightning crackling around him like a furious storm.

Raising his hand, Robert summoned even more lightning, which flowed through the city, forming a massive beam.

“Lightning Cannon!” Cain’s eyes narrowed as he saw the incoming beam.

Shadows surged around him, forming a barrier that protected him.

The barrier held for a moment, but the sheer intensity of the attack began to break through.

Luckily, it gave Cain enough time to vanish from the area.

He reappeared above Robert, claws poised to strike.

But once again, Robert spun his lightning-augmented reflexes, allowing him to evade just in time.

The Lightning Knight countered with a lightning-imbued fist aimed at Cain’s chest, but Cain blocked with his forearm, shadows rippling to absorb the impact.

The two continued their deadly exchange, every clash of shadow and lightning sending shockwaves through the air.

Robert’s lightning granted him unparalleled speed and precision, while Cain’s shadow mastery allowed him to twist and turn, evading strikes and countering with ruthless efficiency.

Cain’s claws slashed through Robert’s lightning barrier, but Robert retaliated by summoning a sword of pure lightning, slashing at Cain’s side.

The blade connected, but Cain’s shadows absorbed most of the damage, leaving only a shallow wound.

As the battle continued, the entire city watched in awe and terror.

It was a fight between titans.

The Sky Lords dared not intervene, and the few remaining Dark Seed Legends kept their distance, wary of getting caught in such a clash.

The sky trembled as the shadow-cloaked figure and the lightning-wielding knight warred for dominance.

Space itself seemed to crack open with each blow as shadow and lightning battled for supremacy.

Neither Cain nor Robert showed any sign of backing down-each strike was more powerful and precise than the last.

The more power Robert displayed, the more Cain’s hunger grew.

He could sense that Robert’s Legendary Innate Ability was exceptional, and his eyes gleamed with desire.

Consuming such power would push him even further.

He briefly considered using Glass Dome to trap Robert in a space where he could fully utilize his abilities.

But Cain knew better than to let his hunger overtake his mind.

The goal of this fight was part of a much larger plan-to eventually consume the entire South Coast Alliance.

For that, he had to stay focused.

The battle raged on until something unexpected happened.

Cain’s aura suddenly dimmed, his once-steady life force becoming chaotic.

Robert, while caught off guard by the sudden weakness in his opponent, didn’t hesitate.

Seeing an opening, he unleashed a ferocious blow, landing it point-blank on Cain’s shadow-cloaked chest.

Cain staggered, the force of the punch sending shockwaves through the air.

Before Cain could recover, Robert summoned his Lightning Hammer again, this time striking Cain with overwhelming force.

The blast hit Cain head-on, his shadowy form crashing violently into the ground, creating a massive crater.

The Sky Lords and Legends, watching from a safe distance, stared in awe.

They had witnessed an intense battle, uncertain of who would prevail.

But now, as the shadowy figure lay motionless, it seemed the Lightning Knight had taken the lead.

However, just as the crowd began to believe victory was near, the shadowy entity slowly rose from the wreckage.

However, instead of charging back into the fray, Cain turned and fled into the distance.

“You will not escape!” Robert shouted, his voice filled with killing intent.

Lightning surged around his body as he dashed after the retreating figure, leaving the Sky Lords and Legends behind.

The chase was relentless, lasting for hours.

Robert, a streak of lightning, pursued Cain across cities and vast landscapes, covering hundreds of thousands of kilometers.  The news of the chase spread across the entire South Coast, as several towns and cities saw the shadow and lightning arcs, shaking across the sky at an alarming speed.  Every now and then, Robert managed to inflict wounds on Cain, lightning bolts crashing down like divine judgment.

But each time, Cain recovered and pressed on, his shadowy form slipping through.

As the hours passed, it became clear that Cain had no intention of facing Robert head-on again.

Despite Robert’s incredible speed and power, the shadowy figure managed to evade him long enough to disappear from sight.

When Robert finally returned to the city empty-handed, it was clear that his quarry had slipped through his grasp.  Though he hadn’t managed to kill the shadowy entity, the battle and the subsequent chase had enhanced Robert’s fame across the South Coast.

His name now echoed through every important population center, tales of his valor spreading like wildfire.
