The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 1195
Chapter 1195: Old enemy (II) Chapter 1195: Old enemy (II) Cain couldn’t shake the growing sense of caution as he reflected on the words of Dragon Empress Tiamat.
As a Dreamwalker at the Legendary Level, even if his physical body or black hole were destroyed, he could survive by sending his True Name back to Aether, where he could reawaken. But the implications were clear-if something went wrong with his True Name, the consequences would follow him wherever he went.
A disturbance in his True Name could trap him in the Crimson World, forever severing his connection to Aether.
He needed to tread carefully.
Fortunately for Cain, his enhanced mastery of the Oniric Truth of Gluttony had given him a deeper perception of the energies he consumed.
As he focused intently on the essence flowing from the monstrous creatures, a sharp realization struck him.
‘As expected, the reaction in my True Name is due to the energies I’m absorbing from devouring these monstrosities,’ Cain thought, a sharp light flashing in his eyes as he continued drawing the creatures into his maw using the power of the Oniric Truth of Gluttony.
The creatures contained a myriad of energies-most were concise, such as life force and spiritual power.
However, among the more typical energies, there was something else.
A small, dark essence, barely detectable.
Each creature carried only a few iotas of this energy, but its potency was remarkable.
It seemed to be the core of their strength, the reason these creatures could pierce even Cain’s scarlet scales.
Though the amount in each monster was minuscule, after devouring billions of them, the accumulated essence had reached a level significant enough to trigger a reaction in his black hole.
Now that Cain understood the cause of the disturbance, the next step was to figure out what this dark essence was.
It could very well be the force behind the creatures’ power-assimilating it might make him stronger.
But it could also be the source of their madness and ferocity, driving them to mindlessly attack and sacrifice themselves.
Allowing such an unstable force to corrupt his True Name was out of the question.
It would be like warping his soul and mind beyond recognition.
There was no point in gaining more power if it meant losing himself, becoming a mindless monster driven only to destroy.
Cain shut out all distractions, focusing completely.
His mind and soul force honed in on the dark essence, probing its nature.
Minutes passed, and the presence of the dark energy became clearer.
Suddenly, a deep sense of déjà vu struck him, much like when he first encountered the creatures.
But this time, clarity followed.
Outwardly, Cain showed no signs of his internal revelation, continuing to consume the creatures with steady determination.
Yet inside, his heart was shaken to its core.
The reason this energy felt familiar was not because he had encountered it in the Crimson World-it was because he had faced it before, in Aether.
‘Depravita!’ Cain whispered in his mind, the word ringing like a dark omen.
He had identified the dark essence coursing through the monstrous creatures-it was the Depravita Essence, the core energy of the Depravita Race!
‘Impossible.

How can it be here?’ Cain pushed the Power of Order to its limits, calming his racing mind as he tried to comprehend what was happening.
The Depravita Race were his sworn enemies, the ones who had nearly destroyed Aether in their quest for domination.
They had killed billions, spreading their strongholds like a plague across the land.
It had taken a massive war spanning several years and the full might of Aether rallying behind Cain to finally achieve victory.
Though he had erased every trace of the Depravitas from Aether, he knew the race was still an incredible threat.
The forces he had defeated were merely an incursion-a fraction of the race’s true power.
The full might of the Depravita remained in a place beyond his reach, in a dimension he hadn’t yet found.
The question of their origin had long troubled Cain.
He had never believed they were a natural part of the Nine Empyrean Universe, especially given how the Laws of Aether reacted to them.
It was as if the very fabric of reality rejected their existence. “Could they have originated from the Crimson World?” Cain wondered.
But there was too little information to confirm such a theory.
He had combed through countless historical and geographical records of the Helix Continent and found no mention of the Depravita.
Still, the Crimson World held far more mysteries than he had explored.
Entire realms and dimensions were beyond his current knowledge.
The possibility that the Depravita had some connection to this world couldn’t be dismissed.
All sorts of theories and questions flooded his mind, his thoughts racing as he tried to gather what knowledge he had to make sense of this revelation.
Yet after a few moments, Cain could only silently sigh-there simply wasn’t enough information.
The answer to why Depravita Essence was in the Primeval World and why it infused these creatures wasn’t something Cain expected to uncover soon.
But one thing was certain: he could handle the dark essence. Cain had already dealt with Depravita Essence before in Aether.
Though dangerous, it was not beyond his ability to control.
He had even used the bodies of the Depravita of Wrath and the Depravita of Gluttony to nourish his willpower and evolve his Alter-Ego to the Fourth Realm.
“The part of myself that reached the Crimson World was my willpower, which had already thoroughly mixed with the energy and essence of the Depravita Race,” Cain reasoned.
“There should be no danger in integrating the dark force.” Confident in his assessment and without hesitation, Cain continued devouring the creatures, now paying close attention to the stream of Depravita Essence flowing through them.
He made a conscious effort to guide the dark energy toward his True Name, allowing it to integrate-but under the iron grip of his will, and in case of any problem, he would sever the flow.
